  1. I'm sure you will get a detailed description, but seriouslt buy a Clymers. If I rmember right, you only have to remove the shift shaft which is simple anyway and hold the spring loaded part to the side to get it out. just make sure to not strip the screw, it's pretty easy to do.
  2. Now, is his colon dune friendly?
  3. Does anyone make a clutch that will hold up to that power? Will this beat a stock 450 in a race? Are turbos Cub friendly? Are turbo Cubs dune friendly? Are turbos with or with out Cubs trail friendly? I just thought I would get those all out of the way at once.
  4. Sure, unless it's going to take more than .25 to clean up the walls.
  5. A straight cut is good for a cheap upgrade. Getting the dome reshaped works better, but also costs more.
  6. You just have to turn around and ride the other way. I'm amazed how many don't know that, silly.
  7. I wasn't messing with you. I was just poking fun at the simple arguements that happen but were never intended. Sorry if that came off the wrong way, sarcasm is lost in typing.
  8. They may have seized in the sleeves, lots of WD-40 and a rubber mallet or block of wood. Be careful with the threads. You may have to hit it pretty good, just not with anything hard.
  9. What size turbo are you going to use? Sorry, I had to.
  10. If anyone is interested in a set of ported RZ jugs with head cut for 100 octane, let me know. I have quite a few RZ parts that will not work with the +4 crank, so they all need to go. Engine trix aluminum RZ head with 20cc domes will also be up for sale, it's brand new but has been installed on a motor. The pistons for an RZ are exactly the same as a Banshee's.
  11. Damnit, motor is still out. Hopefully I will be able to make it up soon, but preferably a non-holiday weekend. Well, have fun.
  12. Nah, dynos to me are really just there to get jetting dialed in and inflate egos. No matter what I build, it will always have 60hp. My last one had 60, the new one will have 60 also. Banshees and RZs both can make the same peak hp, RZs just do it in places a Banshee never could. The grin meter means more to me than bragging rights ever could. I wouls love to take a trail ride and actually find out how many times a Banshee motor shifts compared to an RZ. I hardly ever shift this thing, if it falls off the pipe just give it more throttle and it will pull right back up. I'm interested to see how the extra ports help, and if the PV can eliminate that infamous flat spot.
  13. I'm looking forward to the new motor. I don't think I could actually get more low end on a Banshee than this new set-up. My old Patriot ported RZ jugs were pretty fast, but no faster than a well ported Banshee. It's the way they make power that has kept my interest. I think this should be the best of both world. RZ jugs, stroker crank, Banshee clusters, rz forks and drums. I kind of picked the best parts from both motors for my type of riding and mushed them into one. I will never know the HP on it, just have to go by my grin meter, it's more accurate than a dyno any day. Did you have the stroker motor running?
  14. You are going to have more bottom end than your piped motor ever put out. It will pull better on top also. Don't be overly concerned with bottom end on an RZ, they will have it no matter what. A bone stock RZ motor willl make a beetr trail motor than just about any set up of Banshee jug. I didn't want the RZ ratios, so mine is sitting on a Banshee bottom end. I can't comment on the gearing for you. PTR mids are great for that motor, they make the powerband almost seamless, there really is no hit to speak of. I have rockets now and they are good pipes also. Good luck.
  15. Holy shit, I haven't checked this thread in a few weeks. You guys are still having the same argument; I give you all props for persistence. This makes me think of the old definition of insanity quote, it is repeating the same behavior and expecting different results. How can anyone argue the fact that Firemanhot "does" ride his Cub on trails? It's obviously good in the trails to him, no matter what anyone else says. Port timing can be played with forever; I don't consider that a detuned engine, it now just makes its power at a different place than was first intended. This is kind of like saying I made a giant bowl to float in the ocean, by default that giant bowl became a boat. Was it built to be a boat, no, but it is now a boat non-the less. Somebody else may not consider it to be a boat, but the owner does, that can't really be argued. Carry on, just thought I would commend you all on a job well done. Arguing an unwinnable argument.
  16. I think it's just after their bed time.
  17. The RZ has an electrical controlled powervalve. The valve itself will raise and lower the exhaust roof altering exaust timing. In a nutshell, strong bottom end while still having great top end. Do a search or ask away. This has been discussed a few times, but it seems to fade away. I had a stock stroke RZ for two years and am building a stroker right now. Unfortunately, quite a few people avoid this conversion because of the wiring, it really isn't much but a headache. The time spent will be well worth it. There will be an RZ mill in some form in my Banshee for as long as I own it, I will never go back to a non PV motor.
  18. I wasn't trying to step on anyone's feet, I just wanted to state that the jugs are very different although also very similar. The porting that may work with a Banshee jug may not work with an RZ jug because one or all of the port timings may not be able to be adjusted back to what a Banshee's is. The tranfers may have more timing stock than a Banshee woods port works best with. I hope I'm explaining myself enough, It's just a different animal. On an RZ you can get away with alot more exhaust timing than a Banshee and still have better bottom end than a Banshee can even be ported to. I don't beleive a Banshee can be ported to have much more bottom end than stock, just a bottom end that tranfers to the midrange smotther. I'm sure this will be argued, that my best friends bothers dad once met a person who had a Banshee that pulled off idle and ran like a drag bike on top. But just the fact that the PV closes to the point it does, with out some serious work, a Banshee will not be able to match it.
  19. CPI's will not work without a huge dent to clear the powervalves.
  20. Give it a shot, that's an easy to change back. I think you should be fine.
  21. Dan at Patriot took around two weeks also. It really depends when you send them in. If it is late winter/early spring, most builders are swamped and can't get them out as quickly. While I can't say it is the best "wodds port" around, I haven't ridden everyones woods port it is a great job with alot of midrange and low end. RZ's have more low end stock than a Banshee will ever have no matter who ports it. Talk with some people with ported RZ's, not Banshee jugged motors. Make sure you go with someone that has some experience with the RZ's. Their port lay out is different than a Banshee's stock. So their porting will be different also. If you're going to go the route of trail motor, try some PTR mids, get the head cut for at least a 50/50 fuel, try some V-forces and a 28-30mm carb works very well. That was my last set-up. I will let you know how the RZ jugs run with a little more stroke.
  22. Can you send some pics to [email protected]?
  23. UPS no lomger gets anything of mine to ship. USPS is the only way I will ship anymore. Let me see how much Priority would be and I'll get back to you.
