thats because they do. i think its thedifference between the dual overhead cam(yam) and sohc(honda). the yfz450 has a slight powerband making it sound like its got more. the power of the 450r is more linear like a craptor. my buddy has a 450r and we have identical setups. he has never come close to beating me in a drag, on the trails or anywhere for that matter. they are quick, but just dont seem to have that extra grunt like the yfz450.

if you have the capabilities just modify the stock one. itll cost you a lot less. ive extended them from +2 to +4. +4 costs maybe 3 bucks in materials to do it, plus your time. i just ordered a roundhouse carrier and aluminum carrier from cotton eyed joe. i got it all for 215 bucks. im gonna graft it to my stock swingarm. i bought an aftermarket swingarm once and spent like damn near 800 on it. those days are over with.

yea, what evil said. dont use a stick welder. just use a mig. itll work fine. ive chopped, extended and shortened many swingarms and used a mig welder. ive never had any problems with any of the welds on them.
