I've heard the 20 fin coolers do work alright, like 5-10 degrees cooler with them...but anything smaller than the 20 fins don't do much, if anything. I dunno...I figure if ya put a 20 fin cooler on the rad line going to the motor and another going to the radiator from the head I bet you'd see a drop in temp. Some's better than none I guess.

I haven't had that problem, I had a hell of a time with the K&N clamp-ons melting outerwears on the pipes. With the 2:1 filter, you can loosen the clamp holding the filter on and rotate it to where it doesn't get near the the pipes. I'm still running the outerwear that came with the filter setup. I too got mine from Rocky Mtn...or at least my g/f did anyway.
