I was in the same boat. I tried swapping coils, plug wires, everything I could think of before resorting to getting a new stator. I know what you mean, hell the OEM stator I put in when the stock one took a shit only lasted about maybe 20-30hrs. Don't know what would be frying them,..but it sure did. Here's a pic... Once I looked at it & saw all the melted shit I figured that's what my problem was & that's what it really ended up being. But I dunno, know anyone around you that'd let you try their coil? Have you checked the gap on the pickup coil to see if it's gotten off somehow?

I'm think of extending mine a couple inches similar to how dogboy did his...I may just make a chrome molly one thats +2, but I'm going to wait until I get some lower bars.

Don't forget to include who can beat who on all other sorts of quads...and you can't leave out information on power bands, especially the blue & red ones.

That sucks man. I hate hearing about crap like that, I've seen & been through enough similar incidents to know how you feel. Shitty deal.

Right on, I got the adjustable stator...just need to quit being a cheap ass & send my flywheel for a little 'boon-tune' myself.

My vote would be a Toomey 2:1 with a UNI filter.

That's pretty much all I do, getting ready to start some MX soon though. But yes, I like them a lot. I prefer them over my previous T5's myself...they just suit my style better. Better low end than the toomeys, but a bit less up top. You won't be disapointed in them, any pipe is a big advance over stock. Just don't go DG. I got my g/f a 400ex, put on a new air filter, full WB's exhaust with E-series silencer...she likes it a lot, has quite a bit of power; awesome torque. Easy to maintain & cheap to ride. I don't mind riding it myself; but at this time it's all I have to ride until I get my banshee back together.

That totally blows some major fucking ass. I'd be on a manhunt for that little bastard. That's just horseshit. If you have a bill of sale I don't see how they could put it on you...at all, they need to be after the one you bought the shee from & who provided you with a bunk bill of sale. I just did mine last night, cut off some tabs too, forgot the two right in front of the motor mounts along the frame, but owell. It looks fuckin awesome!!! I am getting ready to get it powder coated...hang tight, I'll have you some pics soon, like probably the next couple days or so. For sure. We used close to 1/4" steel on mine, little overkill probably, but that bitch isn't going to budge now--guaranteed. We'll probably use a milder grade steel next time. I'll get you some detailed pics asap... We're actually going to start offering gussetting services, along with my cousin. We'll do a standard gussetting like we did on mine & also custom gusseting as requested by the customer...at a reasonable price. I'm trying to find a powdercoater who will cut us a deal so we can offer complete gussetting and powdercoating services. Would anyone here be interested?

Sadly enough...yepper. Biggest waste of money ever...I'm the typical smoker who bitches about it probably more than a non-smoker, but can't quit. That's what mine did,...started & ran fine...but At & ONLY At WOT it would spit, sputter, cough, occasionally would backfire a little. I checked everything...at least a few times, broke down & bought a new stator. FIXED If you do get a new stator, do NOT buy an OEM stator. I got one & it lasted maybe 20-30hrs... Same here boonman. I'll jam to some old school metallica, but that's about it. I won't pay to watch disturbed again, I saw them with Drowning Pool & uhhh???...but anyway, all they did was sing their shit, stand there & want people to yell for them. I agree. I've had that shit happen to me before...got me 3 'custom' racing stripes down the side of my truck. I found out who did it, wanted to kick his F'n ass...but instead I pressed charges(my old man was the Chief of Police at the time), he paid for my truck to get fixed, got me a little cash also...and he got to repaint the city parking lots over the summer.
