I would not be concerned with detonation in your motor. You should have no problem... Even with the timing advance. There are other factors involved here, however, I have done PLENTY eough cylinder heads to know this. .030" off and even with the timing advance isn't a problem. Unless you are at or below sea level. THen, you may have to watch things a bit more closely. To see if your detonating, read BebBB's jetting FAQ, and it has a section about reading the plugs.... Detonation will show up as tiny specs of aluminum on the porcelain. You should also hear the engine ping if it is detonating...

Or, you can get your measurement in English, and divide it by .0394 or, get the metric measurement in millimeters, (mm) and multiply it by .0394 The universal number for metric conversion. you can go either way with it.

Get yourself a good 12mm 6 point socket, and take them nuts off. I don't suggest that you try shaving the head yourself. Unless your a machinist, and/or have access to a shop and are skilled in the operation of a mill. Why do you want to replace the head? I would not touch your porting. Leave that to someone who knows what is going on. You can get it apart. Be sure you drain the coolant before you attack the head nuts. Otherwise, you will have a big mess.

In New York, you could get away with it for sure. We have forged documents like that alot. it's not too hard. As long as you get the lein release from the bank, and she signs the dude's name on the title, you should be all set. If your state has any tax documents that need to be filled out when registering it and there is a spot for the seller to fill out, than have her fill them out as well. It will make everything look that much better. Now, did you just make the payments to the bank if her name, or did you actually assume the loan under your own name? I am assuming that you did the previous option, and she just handed you the paymnt book. In which case, once the bike is paid off, she will get the lein release. Then, you must make it look like on paper that you are just buying it from her outright. Don't get too stupidly low on the purchase price to save a few bucks on the tax when registering, it will raise a red flag which would be bad. You can do it. Just don't rush into it. If you just kept paying the loan in her, (or his) name, then pay the last payment, get the lein release. Then, you will be home free. Have her sign the papers, and go to the DMV.

Drunk As Hell And Wanted You Guys To Know It

Even if she is ugly, that's why the 12-pack comes with a box!!! And besides, beauty is only a lightswitch away, and do you really look at the mantle when your stoking the fire? You may, but you certainly don't have to..... And Nyuk, I have pondered the coyote in my day as well. Now, I wake up to a beautiful woman every day..... -
64mm is equal to 2.5216" or so. 54mm is equal to 2.1276" or thereabouts. Stock bore size is 64mm. And I doubt that you have high compression pistons. This isn't a car engine. We don't talk like that. Most likely you either have stock pistons, or Wiseco's. SOme others are out there, but not used very often. Evvery stock piston I have looked at has "1UA00" cast into the piston on the inside of the exhaust side. If you follow what I'm saying here. Intake side of the piston has the "windows" cut into it. The exhaust side is solid. To properly measure the bore, you wll need some snap guages and a micrometer. But, a good set of vernier's will do the triick and get you close. You just won't be able to get in there and measure if it's oblong and what not. but if you just want ot know what bore it's on, you will be able to do it.....

Cheap Mods To Help Me Like My New Banshee More.
boonman replied to banshee00shaw's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Lightening the flywheel, and shaving the head down will help improve throttle response and make it feel like a completely different bike. Shaving the head will increase power some, but both mods combined will definitely be something worthwhile and relatively cheap for the gains you get out of them... right around $100 shipped for the both... -
I'm still a novice........

If the head gasket isn't proper, it could very well be leaking coolant, and/or seeping some compressed gasses out as well. I would maybe do a leakdown on it to find out what's up. SOmetimes gaskets aren't perfect, but they usually work.. Did you torque it down properly?

Get ya a Clymer manual. I will be assembling an engine tonight partially, so I will be sure to grab some pics and get them up on Imagestation. I will add something to my site. BUt I do know that meat has some business on his site HERE that will help you out for sure!!

So, what was the problem?

Yep, I can weld cranks. I am designing a jig so I can check runout and trueness as well. I have one out of a mottor I am rebuilding right now that I am going off of. Hopefully sooner than later. I have alot on my plate right now though.... and lmmfao on "thenewguy" shizzle!!!

Precisely SRedish!! I would love to have an off season business. Unfortunately, I do in the on season, the same as i do in the off season. I work full time. I only teach part time in the winter. Only on weekends. But, it interferes with bartending as well. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. My work week is usually about 85 hours. Not including drive time. But, I love it!!!!! I am trying to get the town to let me put up my new shop in the back, in which I hope to expand current business affairs into it, which may provide what i need to work as I have time, and focus more on skiing in the winter. The place I just took my exam at, Gore Mountain has some pretty sick terrain. There is a hill called "The Rumor" which is touted as being the steepest run in the east. I estimate it to be about 70 degree slope, and filled with 5 foot tall moguls. You basically fall into the face of a mogul, ski off the side of it, make a 180 degree turn in mid air, and slam into the face of the next one. It is by far one of the hardest runs I have ever pounded. Check this pic out if Imagestation works..... That is the entrance to the run. it is about 300 yards down. The entrance is gated off to about 5 foot across. Just beyond the "caution snowmaking" sign is the ledge. It is awesome. And on the hills at Kissing Bridge, all them blacks ad double blacks aren't what you're thinking. They are compareable to the easiest slopes at other resorts. But, the marking is resort specific. They can't labele every run with the green circle.... although they probably should. Rebel, I ski Every Sunday at KB. I work, I have to. But, once the season's over, (work season that is) We'll have to hook up and go to the valley. It would be sweet!!! I like Holiday Valley alot more, but, it is about another 1/2 hour, and I can't do it for as much as i ski and work.... I just cracked the Alpine manual last night that I have to read and memorize. It is about an inch thick. This is going to be tedious!! And Deuce, my nuts get in the way often....... Or so I like to think.... And on the makin' bank part, how's $6.50 an hour sound for teaching a lesson? And that's only for any hour you actually teach. I could be there for 8 hours, not teach one lesson, and I won't make a penny. Think it's worth it? To me it is.

Sediments and minerals do bad, bad, very bad things to water heaters. We have ttown water and it is still bad. About every 5 years, time for a new tank, even with regular draining and flushing... It sucks......

First off, (I will purposely capitalize the rest of this sentence) STOP THROWING RIDICULOUS SHIT IN THE SUBJECT LINE. I am talking about the symbols and the bull shit. it is really becoming annoying in EVERY post you start. The bull shit stops right now. I'm going to edit it out of this one, like I have done with all the other ones and it seems you didn't get the point. People will read the post and maybe even answer it if you stop with the nonsense. Now, check out Meat's page, this is off of www.thebansheezone.com. click here

You need to weld it. They are known to seperate. Once it seperates, it can also twist, which would throw timing off, and you may risk detonation. That could take the crank bearings, and the top end out.... That will piss you off....
-
I don't know how I missed this one. I could have helped you out!!! Anyways, glad to hear you got it straightened out. if the dealer didn't help you out, you probably had to fill out an affidavit of ownership (MV-51) and get the seller to sign it as well. You would also need a DTF-802 which is the statement of transaction, for sales tax. you may have used the MV-51B, which is the affidavit of ownership for non-titled vehicles. That depends on which state youbought the bike in. SOme states do not use titles. NYS sucks that way..... and last but not least, you needed an MV-82, which is the registration application. How does that saying go? I.......... Love New York............ yep, I love it just like I would love to wipe with a broken bottle....

Thanks guys on the congrats!!!! Actually, the exam I just took was only the skiing portion. The easy part IMHO. The second part, is another 2 days of professional knowledge and teaching that is examined. That is the tougher one. I have to read up on the Alpine manual, and brush up on the "professional" terms and all that nonsense. And Sredish, I each at Kissing Bridge. It is a small area, south of Buffalo. It is rediculously small. Kissing Bridge\ I don't even know the vertical, but I estimate it to be about 300' maybe?? I should probably know that.... Anyways, Deuce, it does mean a raise once it's al said and done, but it surely isn't worth it. In the end I will have over a grand into just passing this thing, not including my time off from work, or time spent training and studying. Just mainly for my own personal challenge. And to bring the customers something more than just the average instructor. Skiing has been a love of mine for a bit now, well, actually only 10 years. It's fun, and passes the time in the winter..... I have neever been out west to ski, but I hope to make it some day. One thing i can say is that I went into the skiing portion of the exam wayyyyyyy overprepared. It showed, and I hope I can go into the next level the same way. After that, it is years of out of pocket expense and time to become an examiner. I have heard in excess of 40G's not including time off from normal work. Every examiner I have spoken with owns some sort of home construction or landscaping business. seasonal work seems to be the forte' of them...... Maybe someday I can make it there......
