  1. Kick starter idler gear?
  2. I set the pickup anytime I have the cover off, but in the end it was leaning the needles that helped since I went up on the mains when I wen to pods
  3. Did you do a leak down after you got it together?
  4. When I was having the same issue, I checked/set pickup gap as well, also replaced plug boots (their cheap enough not too) and plugs, trimmed coil wires back some.
  5. I' ve got a very similiar set up as you, except Pro Circuit's, VF3, and I'm at about 450 asl, when I switched to pods, I went up to a 350 main, 6 groove needle also, (don't know brand) was at second groove from bottom. I also had a noticeable bog off idle, went to a 32.5 pilot and couldn't really tell a difference even when I adjusted air screws, set needle up one groove and it was way better but still stumbled a little, went another groove up and cleaned it up. Just going up 2 grooves on needle made a huge difference.
  6. I got some high temp hose from an auto parts store, its the stuff with a red interior and green exterior, its held up great all summer. I also put it on my wifes bike and 2 or 3 of my friends used it as well with no issues. Forget the actual name, not sure if its the silicone type or not
  7. Also might be worth your time to check your radiator cap, if its junk it wont hold pressure
  8. How soon after it's been running does it overflow? I had a stock head gasket fail, bike ran great and all would idle all day and not puke coolant, normal easy riding it was fine but as soon as I would get in a good pull it would dump coolant out the overflow.
  9. You need to figure out why it wont idle on its own first
  10. I actually like the original look of the 87, (except gold wheels, sorry kawa) I am planning to somewhat go with that scheem when I tear it down for powder. I already got white plastics with this look in mind, got to get red tank and rad. cover and im looking for a graphics kit as close to stock as I can find and am doing the frame red. But, as said its your bike, your the only one who knows what you like
  11. I dont know who Rick Ross is but he totally ruined that bike

  13. Now would be a good time to get a Clymers manual, it's the best $20 or so bucks you can spend. Get one and read through it
  14. There really is no set point for idle screw, any other time you would sync carbs with sync tool, but seems as you have a single carb, just set idle to where it idles good then play with your air screw
  15. *mods was supposed to say. But yeah, powerbands color and timing makes a huge difference
  16. First post in correct section, then list mode and details
  17. Plastic screw that angles up is gonna be idle screw
  18. Could be the rubber plug in the base of one of the cylinders. This happened on mine, had to tear a brand new build apart and replace plug
  19. Troll
  20. If you want the key just buy a new switch and key assembly, if you dont care if you have a key or not, follow the harness from the switch, goes to a white 2 wire plug and splice the wires together. I think they are black and black/red stripped, but its been a while so I cant remember the colors for sure

  24. If you have to go to 66 to clean them cylinders, their pretty much wasted. Might get some life out of them, but might also look into the new driveline cylinders...
