  1. I don't think a 20x10x10, 9 paddle will be enough tire. Its not for my wifes stock cyl. 4mm, and I'm sure your serval is making a ton more power than it.
  2. If $$ aren't a issue. I say super serval or super cub. Whats your current build?
  3. When building a motor, trenching and porting cases are probably one of the cheaper things to do. Unless your racing some class that doesn't allow case mods?
  4. If you like sliding or drifting around, the 20x10x10 will do it much better. Everywhere else a 22x11x8 will out perform. For paddle number, I would call Sandtoyz and talk to John. He's helped me out a bunch of times. For my wifes 4mill, both she and I prefer a 20" tire.
  5. Honestly, Cam is going to point you in the right direction, and won't sell you crap you don't need. Good guy. I've had him build my YXZ (reason why he's now bald and gay), my 521 and my wifes 4mm. Extremely happy with everything he's done for me. CJ
  6. I'll probably be in the minority here, but on my old setup with a stock ported engine, but with all the bolt-ons, I preferred the T-5s.
  7. Your best bet is to call him. The guy is busy to say the least.
  8. Pull the carbs and clean them. Take out the pilots and mains, to make sure something isn't plugging them up. That would be my guess.
  9. If you don't mind driving another half a state, I'd take it to Redline Racing. I've had Cam do a fair amount of work over the years and he's never disappointed me. But the biggest question is...how big is your budget? Because if you're going for a complete tear down/rebuild, and money is a factor, it would be much cheaper to go buy a really nice banshee already built. My .02.
  10. Tons of things factor into this question. What kinda surface are you riding on? What kinda tires, gearing, swing arm length, and jetting are you using? How far is he beating you by? How built is the TRX? In sand with my 7mill, I would launch fairly high in the rpm range in 2nd. Ideally it would carry the front tires about 6ish inches, through second, then lay down. More info is needed on what your quad is doing.
  11. Not to mention the chances of finding BB cascade silencers are pretty small. But just wanted to put it out there they could be fairly quite.
  12. I have a set of snipers on my 10 mill super with some cascade silencers. Imop, they are pretty quite. I had a set of cpi's with the factory cpi silencers on my 7 mill/stock cyl. and they are less noisy by far.
  13. For our kids (4&5 at the time.) I picked a little LT80. How my son drives the quad it makes me a little nervous when he gets something with real power. O well, "dress for the wreck" is a good motto to have with kids, lol.
  14. With my 521, and 39s, I wouldn't measure in miles, but more like feet.
  15. I burnt up two clutchs in it, then put a lockup on it. Never had a problem since. She never noticed it shifting different. Soon as Cam finishes another project for me, its going down there.
  16. If it where me doing the build, I would set up the motor for low/mid range power. I don't know how experienced your wife is on a quad, but there is nothing like putting an inexperienced rider on a toggle switch motor. What I did for my wifes bike (That I just blew up lol) was a mild port in stock cylinders, cool head, V3 reeds, T5s and a lockout with a MSR, so I could keep the stock springs/easy clutch pull, and be able to hold 60hp. I wanted to make it so she could enjoy longer rides, and not be fatigued. I think the next build for my wife will probably a 4mm serval, with paul turners on it.
  17. Really depends on what mods you have done, and what you're looking to do. If you like drag racing, and shooting hills/tree shots, I like a 22x11x8 hauler. Role out and paddle numbers play a large role in performance. If you like sliding around and just general duning, I would suggest a 20x10x10 hauler.
  18. Snipers are the way to go, but shearer aren't bad by any means. Budget?
  19. I'm running a torch works on my 521. I don't know if they even make them anymore. The down side to a TW is that you can't run the factory grill, because the radiator sits to close to the grill. So i'm stuck with some stupid flame grill...I should get one from JD.
  20. My old redline 7mill stock cylinder was a nice all around motor. For just general duning, that would be my motor of choice.
  21. Sending questionable pictures of yourself is a good way to get him to respond.
  22. Just a little work on the motor, so that it can get out of its own way.
