LEAK DOWN TEST!. If one side is pouring smoke, very thick and very white...could be a crank seal sucking in trans fluid. seen it more than once. Leak down is a MUST at this point.

Stator and coil sound like they are in check. X2 on the pickup gap, .020. If you have a key switch, have you tested its operation? Make sure you have an open and closed circuit when you rotate it - I had an old style key switch work backwards once (off=on and on=off) and it threw me for a loop. If thats ok next check the engine kill switch - make sure it is functioning properly. If that checks out test your harness again...it is very easy to overlook a ground wire or broken ignition wire. Ok...on the right track so far. A good trail pipe would be pro circuits or toomey t5s in my opinion. Ditch that airbox for some pods or an aftermarket airbox and rejet your carbs. Suspension is a MUST, stock suspension is horrible. Works dual rate shocks would be a nice upgrade. You might even consider duneable elkas. After suspension is taken care of and you are bored with the current setup you can upgrade your swingarm and build a nice ported stock stroke bike that will haul when you are ready. Plenty of options. You could even buy a set of cases and build a 4 mil while u ride ur stocker.

Lol that's what I was thinking. Who the hell would be a dealer, bad mouth their own product, then use some outrageous hp predictions to try and make the sale. Anyhow everyone's already given u great advice. Ride it, get comfortable. Then start changing the setup when you are wanting more hp

stock lightened frame, full drag setup - marvin shaw shocks or struts, drag arms, drag swinger, axle, lighten it up as much as you possibly can for starters. 4 mil cub on alky, shearer OOF drag pipes, good clutch,strong basket and so on with an override trans and lockup should get you into the 7's easily maybe 6's. A 10 mil cub or super cub should definitely have no trouble getting you into the 6's you want, possibly faster. Once your setup is altogether and running, it will be gearing and fine tuning that will determine your best et's.
