X2, very good advice here.

Need 2 stock banshee front wheel hubs. No matter what color, just need to be in good useable shape. Do not need rotors, the bike setup is not going to have front brakes. Please PM me with what you have! Thanks.

If you were looking to buy new we could always set you up with a beautiful set from Fireball Racing. Shoot me a PM and let me know. Thanks!

Perhaps he has trouble speaking english...if you were at sea level and running pump fuel, stock carbs and stock port work, I would recommend you bump pilot jets to 27.5, needle on middle clip, and start your mains a little fat around 270. Turn your air screws about 1.5 full rotations out, then sync your carbs and adjust from there. Probably will end up between 250 and 260. Hope this helps.
-
The 27.5 pilot is a plus. I would still go ahead and check compression for starters, you may be in danger of detonation by running pump fuel. Anyhow, try the pilot, sync ur carbs and go from there dialing in your main. I'm thinking you probably need to be around a 260 main. Good luck

Yamaha banshee won't move

If you were rolling the engine over via the transmission....you needed a top end 209353903 hours ago. Wanna sell the engine? That way you wont have to touch it anymore, you can buy one already running and all you gotta do is kick it. -

I have everything else you would need. A arms and tie rods. Just a stock set. Shoot me an offer. I can probably ship them for about $20.

Ported stock cylinders
Young Guns Racing replied to mgowan's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
good price for what looks like a decent set of cylinders. im sure they will sell -
x2, using someone elses design will get you somewhere but just "tracing" will get you nowhere. Transfer ports, boost ports and port angles are all things usually not found in templates. Everyone needs to start somewhere but to go above and beyond you will need to broaden your knowledge of what you are actually doing to help your engine function the way you want it to. I have a few templates laying around that I have drawn up for us to try on some stock cylinder setups. They have intake and exhaust shapes already layed out, but on the back of them you will find information on port timings, transfer timings and shape, and boost port shape as well as all of the angles complimenting them. It is a process and will be a method of trial and error...dialing in a good port job is expensive. Hardly worth it if you are not in the business, but a nicely done home port job can be very cost effective and rewarding. Don't be discouraged, just read more, get a better understanding and give it a try. Worst case scenario you will have to buy new cylinders and send them to a builder.

Yamaha banshee won't move
Young Guns Racing replied to Carter32ent's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Check your drive sprocket, if the nut came off or the sprocket itself has spline or teeth issues then it will not move. If all is well externally, it may be time to split your cases -
Thanks to all who have stopped by ans answered the call. We have enough cylinder sets for now! Thanks again!

If you have checked clutch adjustment - check your drive sprocket? I had a buddy once parked his bike to rest out riding, we all started back up and he didnt move...nut came off of the shaft and the sprocket was off of the splines sitting on the threads. Went into gear fine, but with it off the splines it was a no go. Just a thought. -
Ridiculous Fabrications.

Welcome aboard guys. -
I've seen these before, and I've used a set a long time ago. I used their intake shaping similarities to a few templates of my own and found out what has already been discussed - they are way to large, no sense in hogging them out that large, the bridge becomes very weak. The exhaust shape is ok, its really wide, be careful not to go too far if this is your first set, take your time and cut small sections. Transfers will need work that there is no template for, shape the transfers themselves to be "economical" as far as flow is concerned, make sure all windows are the same size and shape. Choosing angles and duration will be all up to you as the porter. I don't remember these templates coming in 4 mil, only standard stroke so again you will need to refer to your degree wheel and knowledge you've obtained to set your cylinders up for what you want. With a little research here on the forum you can obtain alot of basic information on what you are wanting to achieve. This website is full of knowledge >> http://www.macdizzy.com/ That should help you out.

No, they are going to be a basis for our in house porting. We just have a few that we've gone through with trashed cylinders, got our durations and angles where we want them and now we are moving to the next step - testing them!

Stock carbs start falling off right around 70 hp. If thats where you want to be, stock carbs will work just fine. -

Young Guns Racing replied to pattheriault's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If this is a build you would like to take on yourself you can send the cylinders off to any site sponsors, have them ported, bored and honed. Purchase any parts you will need (pistons, gaskets, crankshafts, etc) have it all shipped to your door and go at it!. We offer a nice 4 mil stock cylinder engine package. PM me if we can help you out with an engine build. Thanks. -Jon
