  1. I think pipes, air box lid holes/jetting, and +4 timing is stock 450 beating material unless he's a rider who's quite a bit faster then you and gets way better starts/traction
  2. and also, I think you can adjust the bolt/lock nut in the middle of the pressure plate to fix that sometimes
  3. Make sure you have the proper amount of clutch plates, the pressure plate is seated in the grooves completely and be sure you didn't take too much slack out of the cable not allowing it to engage completely. best I can help hope it helps
  4. This is not always the case it sounds like your bike was put together poorly.my friend Josh has a yfz 450 and its down with some electrical, he still isn't positive what the problem is, I can put a new crank in my motor with the amount of trouble he's had with it this time.any machine 4 poke or even a banshee can last forever or have constant issues with a little good luck and carefully applying your skills, the banshee should do great. One last thing, you need to start reading the expiration dates on that gas chief! Lol
  5. That's how I caught my first renthal chain, second one just snapped, I thought I threw the chain off the sprocket but it was just a shitty renthal shit chain hahah and not to mention how the renthal stretched bad and got sloppy fast
  6. which chains and regular wear and tear or SNAP?
  7. My friend has a 98 with fattys still on the stock pistons and bore,he's like 170lbs,runs 20 inch bandits with stock gearing and specializes in 3rd and 4th gear burnouts in the street.my other friends 01 has stock bore/piston also and he rides it hard.It all comes down to how well the bike is put together and maintained like it was already said
  8. what's the spray and is it at auto zone or advanced auto?
  9. I'm sorry that happened, back in 2005 I had to serve 3yrs for a assault that I acquired when I was drunk.right before I left I put a new hotrod crank,120 over piston, cool head and port job in my 86 ATC250R and she was stolen while I was gone.its wild someone can have a business going and pull such low life bull shit
  10. The timing didn't occur to me thanks.I ordered an Athena top end gasket kit are they good? I've always used cometic
  11. I had to pull one cylinder due to striped head bolt threads.my friend has a single new base gasket that's different from mine I think 2 different base gaskets will cause a head leak, you guys agree?
  12. side winder makes some bold claims I know most of us have seen their ads in atv and dirt bike mags.I've snapped to renthal chains on my built 86 ATC250R,then I went to D.I.D. and at one point bought a second D.I.D. X ring because I thought the first one I put on was almost done but that first one never gave up.I feel D.I.D. makes good chains but as far as sprockets I've always skimped and actually been planning on getting some good ones for my shee
  13. here on HQ most of of try to be honest and deal with honest people, based on loco's story sprocket specialist's gave him bad info and on top of it tried to fuck him out of a refund instead of trying to correct it and maybe set him up with different sprockets.to me business's that aren't fair are similar to the scumbags that steal bikes how is side winder? they have some pretty impressive claims
  14. I had the stud fixed yesterday I need to stop by my friends to get a head gasket then its back together.I'm pretty sure the coolant was leaking in the left if not both cylinders
  15. Tomorrow Ill pull the head and left cylinder and have the stud hole helicoiled and hopefully its the reason its breaking up,the side with the stripped hole didn't heat the pipe up nearly as fast and sounded different also
  16. The threads inside are stripped not the actual stud could that cause the powerband to break up?
  17. I was looking my bike over because the other day it wasnt running right and its not hitting powerband strong.Ive cleaned the carbs/filter and gone over all connections in the wiring harness.I noticed one of the middle head studs let lose, can this cause the bike to sputter instead of hit powerband strong? no I didnt do a compression test as of yet.
  18. Anything on this guy lately?
  19. I heard a noise also and inspected, all the gears look fine so I'm just wondering if the basket can make noise when the baskets gear moves around
  20. Does yours make any noise at all?
  21. My coil actually does have a plus and minus, like I said above after cleaning the carbs and filter I went over the wires and remembered my friend switching the wires on his extra shee and it worked so I did it.my only concern was that its ok to switch them around
  22. I went out last week and rode some sandy trails,my airfilter was covered in sand so IO cleaned it.Today I tried to start my bike and I had to pop it,then it would only run in high rpm so I assumed the pilots were clogged then I cleaned the carbs.then with the bike together with cleaned carbs and filter the bike was breaking up and not hitting powerband good.my buddy switched the coil wires around in a similar situation so I tried it and my bike ran good! can I leave my coil wires on backwards or what?
  23. are you joking about this advace auto 10w40? did you run it in your banshee and how long did your clutch last?
  24. That's pretty much what I did,my clutch is a new EBC and a new terminator clutch cable, the damn arrows can't be lined up whe n the slack is out,but maybe the different clutch lever is the cause
