  1. yeah keihin, I believe 34mm
  2. hes gonna need porting to be faster then that banshee even then in a longer race banshee has a chance
  3. I just looked in my clymer manual, it doesn't say the stock jet size it only refers to them as main jet etc. Its been ten years since I ran a stock R carb, I believe stock main is like 165 on those.go up on the pilot one from stock and main 2 or 3 sizes then do a plug chop(ofcourse), then make adjustments if needed. When you verify the definite stock jet sizes let me know if the main is indeed 165 like my memory tells me lol
  4. If the cylinders are in decent shape you can have them honed and put new pistons that are the same size. If the cylinders are worn, you go up atleast one size in pistons and have the cylinders bored and honed. You better be careful buying a ""beater'' because you might end up with more problems then you want. Be sure the bike idles very well and the motor runs strong. Anything with a bolt around swimg arm, a arms, should be inspected, this will tell you how well it has been taken care of. Inspect the cases around the front sprocket.
  5. So pretty much what you're saying is that a stock bore shee with drag port, 4 mill etc won't burn you because its under 421ccs? Sounds like you said anything under a worked 421 would be raptor food?
  6. you should tell him its proven to be extremely reliable when taken care of properly. just make sure you get one that's taken care of well and youll be off to a good start
  7. I know you said you want to stay away from porting but exaust, porting, and intake/carb is the best mods on a R. I've built maybe 5 R motors and my favorite one on stock cylinder had a mid to top rpm port job, cool head with race domes, rad valve, 36mm pj, and bored 120 over. The 36mm seems wrong, you'd think to go right for the 38mm air striker but that set up tuned right is very fast
  8. I'm out and about, need to do a leak test but didn't measure my intake. They're stock boots, inch and a half or what?
  9. fair enough, getting burned still sucks
  10. I think it woulda been a good deal even without him giving you 500, now you can figure how to spend that 500 on your BANSHEE! Ive always had 250s (R's and LT's), and when I got the banshee I came here and learned a lot. everybody here is very helpful and willing to help you out.
  11. first of all, are all your buddys with harley motored quads aware youre on a mans website? second, Ill give it to you for having the balls to stand up for such a slow quad with a giant engine! just for the record, I wasted 2 craptors on my ATC250R and did lose to one that was seriously worked, now that I have the shee they all hid like roaches
  12. 4 strokes are like tampons, every pussy has one! Haha
  13. I suppose I better to be on the safe side
  14. Thanks I cleaned it up and put the new gasket on. Now a small amount of coolant seeps out directly in the Front of both cylinders! It did this last time then stopped, what's the best way to be sure its not getting in the cylinders? I'm not smelling the full klotz smell but maybe its clearing out, I only ran it around the house
  15. I have about 8 hours on a top end and I had a coolant leak. I pulled my head off and there is very tiny pits, there was also a nice coating of carbon, nothing to replace the pistons over but I dont want any further damage. my jets are 310 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle middle position, are the tiny pits from coolant possibly? also whats the carbon build up from, the mix?

  18. sorry guys I didnt realize I had responses. Ive been using the tires since this post Im really not comfortable trading them any more, theyre not bald but not fresh like they were
  19. Sounds like a sweet deal
  20. I have some 21s with great tread, they're on the same size itp rims but I'd rather trade tires.I can take pics tomorrow if you want
  21. Maybe you need to strip it down and carefully put it back together replacing anything bad. A shit box can turn in to a gem
  22. Still no pics? I feel cheated after reading this and not seeing the carnage!
  23. just out of curiosity, what if those arrows arent lined up, does it really matter?
  24. I live in CT and by law we are only allowed on frozen lakes and private property(with permission), it just so happens I live in a small city and e everyone I know doesn't have good riding property so like most CT riders, I'm forced to find places nobody bothers riders. In CT ATV riders are considered borderline criminals and cops usually don't like us. I wish I lived in a area like some of you who can have nice riding spots with no worries of these pussy cops harassing you but I don't. Me and my friends have been known to engage in chases, while I don't like to and rather not, I'm not trying to hear what the pig has to say. We truck our bikes to our spots but sometimes the cops have to do what they do, harass atv riders who are in state woods. you guys jump the gun and don't even understand where the kid lives, because I would be forced to go out of state to ride or wait for winter to ride lakes if I played by the rules! This gets my blood boiling, I've had a good 7 tickets in the past 6 yrs. I'm done now you guys can tell me all your cop loving bull but remember, we all live in different states, towns, etc. Look up CT state atv rules and then tell me who has worse rules in their state.
