  1. Im lookinf for banshee stock airbox boots lid etc complete. Im in mesa arizona looking to buy local thanks. four eight zero 262 8994 Jack
  2. I got the bog out of mine by adjusting the needle raise it one notch and see how that works for you. and bump on removing the tors they are garbage.
  3. thats so funny I did that too, and my buddy on his, I still have it on mine i need to get rid of it hahahahaha. happy riding.
  4. mine did this check your compression, my banshee was running great, then cough, and right side not firing, blew right side rings, pull plugs and check put your finger over the hole or pull exhaust off and look see if rings are gone \etc.
  5. check compression, thats the first thing i do, since having one of these tempermental critters. I couldnt tune mine at all for the first couple weeks after I bought it, figured it needed a top end but wanted to ride so rebuilt carbs and rejetted it ran great so I thought, then cough and blew right side piston rings rebuilt the motor and wow so easy to tune now now I know what a banshee should run like, check compression and go from there my two cents.
  6. air leak BUMP, check engine health compression test, free revs air leak for sure. and fun to find.
  7. get yourself some matching pipes probably wont hurt anything but it will run much better with matching pipes guaranteed.
  8. pull plugs check compression, even check with your finger over the hole to start, see if there is a difference, mine did this, and it was a ring failure on right side. if they feel the same get yourself a compression guage cheap and check compression, 100 or below top end time, if compression is good same ol check and clean carbs sync carbs, rebuild carbs and set floats. and so on check for air leaks nasty little critters happen in the air inake boots right at the crossover tube etc. just some thing to start with. ................
  9. yea my banshee did the same shit reved full throttle get rid of the tors and when you start it have the airbox off so if it tries to run away just put a book or something over the carb inakes they wont run with no air. when mine ran away it was the tors garbage pulled choke out plug boots off and it finally died scary stuff. all rebuilt and running like a champ tors gone i think you will be fine. i built dsl engines for years and pluggin off the air supply on first start if they try to run away works perfect good luck and happy riding.
  10. my banshee did this and unfortunetly it ran for the day then blew the rings on the right piston. worn bore waited to long to do topend oh well all new stuff and running like a champ now hope yours is an easier fix but I would check compression.
  11. Yep I agree take your time even though they are very easy to work on take your time, most important as im sure you know clean it all before you to tearing it down dirt is your worst enemy, have fun banshees are wonderful.
  12. yep i would check all the above mentioned float height needles seats etc clean everything, this might sound dumb but whein i did my rebuild the fuel inlet line was leaking and it ran right down the right side overflow tube dorve me crazy for a bit before i saw the leak. just a thought.
  13. I use Modquad adapter and k & n filter with my stock airbox and lid no problems.
  14. ok So I got the top end done on my banshee, while torqing the cyl head number 5 would only torque to 18lbs so i finished torqing the head all torqued to 20 except number 5 so I tired a little more and it stared to stretch so I pulled number 5 nut thinking I was pulling the stud out of the cylinder but no it stretched the stud at the top so i torqued it back down got 18 and one half foot pounds. finished the build broke it in and doing ok, running excellent My question do I pull the head off and put in new studs or let her ride with number 5 only at 18 foot pounds. ? or can I just try to replace that one stud without pulling the head. Thanks for any input.
  15. So I have the head and jugs off banshee and pistons out, top ring on right side broke towards exhaust side no major scarring on piston or cylinder top of piston ok, loose bore broke top piston ring just bought this thing previous owner went way to long with stock bore I found pieces of the ring in the exhaust pipe, but not all of them did they blow out the exhaust or are they floating aroung in the crankcase? , do I try to flush out the crankcase or split the cases, I am mechanically enclined built caterpillar engines for years, splitting case looks like a nightmare not made of money things are tight, but then again dont want a piece of crap to take out a crand or rod bearing or ruining my ny new top end either advise would be appreciated Thank you
