  1. OK, we dont get much light this time of year in Ontario, so I had to bring them inside!
  2. Thats the stuff that I was talking about in my first post!
  3. First time on photobucket, hope this works! http://pbckt.com/sS.DSm
  4. You can get your elevation from google earth just use your address.
  5. If you need to know what elevation youre at, go to Google earth, and type in your address for your search, it will tell you along the bottom of your screen what the elevation at that address is.
  6. Its really not that difficult to do a set of pistons and rings. I just finished doing mine for the first time (im a carpenter, not a mechanic), and it was pretty simple, as long as you have everything there. Rebuild kits are available on ebay for like $200, and theyll usually set you up with everything you need. Do yourself a favour and buy the Clymers manual for the banshee, its like $20, its the "bible" for your bike, and bring it with you when you ride just in case. I bring mine just so I know if my day is gonna be cut short due to a $5 part or if whats happening is more involved. Itll give you all the info you need from changing the bulb to rebuilding a bottom end, mine came with one, but money well spent.
  7. I got my cylinders in the mail today, what do you guys think? I was told they were .010 over, but on the top of both pistons it says 1.00mm, doesnt that make them .040 over? Or am I reading too much into it? I was also told that they were coming with a trail or mx port, is that what this looks like? There appears to be filler along the bottoms of the intakes then was smoothed out, does this mean that they have gone thru into the water jacket area? Or is this normal? Its more smooth than a regular casting and has been smoothed out alot. Any input would be appreciated. Also there is a recognizeable M S on the side of the cylinders, anyone we know?
  8. Interested in the hemi head, whats the cost shipped to L1N1B2 Canada? Paypal?

  9. Got one guys, thanks for the responses!
  10. Topend! Thats what I meant! I knew if I stuck my neck out it was going to bite me, thanks a lot! lol! Matt
  11. You could do a search regarding the WSM pistons on here. I had a long list of responses about them when I started rebuilding my heads. As far as I can remember they are forged, and made by the same company that produces pistons for Audi, Porsche, and other high end european cars, so they must be true, right? Not 2 strokes though, as someone stated to me!
  12. As far as I can tell from your conversations, if you have no coolant in your rad, and youve had issues with 2 head gaskets in the past, then something isnt seating right as you torque them down. Forget the plugs, is the smoke coming from your pipes white or a traditional 2 stroke blue? You need to take some precautions before you screw up your heads though dude!
  13. Whats the difference between a mx/trail port and others?
  14. OK, so Ive had Firebanshee, SD1026, and some of the other members answering some questions for me and they seem to always come back to sea level. Im wondering why this has such as huge impact on the machine when most of us seem to live within 300' of sea level (Im at +/- 250). I guess I can see that if you lived in the rockies or somewhere higher up, that their is going to be that much less oxygen, but why is it that it seems to affect us who dont live higher up? Also on a side note, I have gathered that if I wanted to run a cool head, that I should be between 21 and 24 cc domes. Does the dome size make a huge difference if there is that much variation between the sizes that have been suggested to me? How did Yamaha decide on making 24cc stock? Why does the smaller size require a higher octane? Why couldnt you run a 18cc dome with pump gas?
  15. Holy crap, you were here, where the hell was I?lol!
  16. Holy crap, where were you guys last week? I just bought and had stuff shipped to me on Wednesday, I guess Ill have to wait and see? Ill keep you all posted!
  17. So how much are you looking for for the cool head? I havent got a lot of spares, Im just starting my collection! LOL!

  22. Heres the reason Im asking, as Im looking for a set of cylinders for my bike. 23. I have been reading for the past 2-3 weeks about heads and domes etc.... and I wonder what the difference is? Am I to understand from what Ive read that with the larger domes it makes it safer to run pump gas, why is that? What size domes are stock? Whats with the cool heads, why are they better than stock, are they worth it? Sorry about all the questions, but Ive gotta get it straight!
  24. I am looking for a complete top end. Something that is close to stock (.010 - .030), already honed/bored with pistons, wrist pins, bearings, clips etc.... complete , you know! pm me!
