Pink or not, the tanks gotta go, and theres no need to cut the sides of a decent set of fenders if they dont have to be!
-
Hey, You need to let me know where you are, so that I can get a $ figure on shipping? Also, what colour are your plastics, as u need to cut them to fit this tank, as with all oversize thanks. Id be willing to throw in my white Front which are cut, in exchange for yours which probably are stock? Im looking for black, but whatever?
-
I am selling my oversized tank and going back to the stock size with the sleeve which surrounds the tank which Yamaha supplies. I have been looking for the small piece of black plastic that goes on top of the tank under the gas cap and ties the sleeve sides together, but nobody seems to have one that they want to sell. Why is that, are they super tough to come by, am I barking up the wrong tree here? I have the tank, I have the sleeve which surounds the tank, but the other piece has eluded me so far? I cant even find one on ebay, and Id rather not go carbon fibre, as it'll end up brown in the UV.

I have white cut fronts in good shape, and stock whites on the rear as well. Pretty sure both are OEM and in great shape, one minor scuff on the right rear but only the size of a quarter. I want to trade for a set of blacks, doesnt matter if they are cut or not in the fronts, but preferably not cut rears and must be in good shape.

Thanks for the civilized responses, I felt kinda stupid asking it, but I thought it was a valid question, I was just hoping that "Building my First" didnt read it, I didnt need to be called a retard. So whats a good set of used stock carbs worth?
-
So Id like to just confirm, when measuring the carb size, are you to take the top off the carb and measure the opening on top, or is the size determined by another measurement? As far as I know the mikuni 26mm's are stock, correct? Why do so many of you guys swear by upgrading to keihin's?

ODD, I remember one of my first posts was for whether or not I should run a twist throttle or a thumb. I though by the comments that I got, that I was getting old cause my thumb wouldnt take the cold! Now I see that Im not the only one. Not a lot of options for us here boys in the winter. I took my first she up to the cottage every weekend riding in the winter, ice fished with a backpack, never had an issue at all. Enjoy the shee, springs comin!

Nice bike man, I was checking it out in the gallery. Ive got the same tank on my bike, do the bars rub on it at all when they are cranked to either side? As far as the intake boot is concerned, replace both of those right away man. For $20 on ebay, you can get new replacements and get rid of the risk of leaning her out and potentially melting a piston. I just bought a bike from a guy who didnt realize the intake boots were cracked, and it resulted in a bad score in the exhaust side of one of the cylinders. -
So the clutch lever on the shee is really hard to pull in. I have just got the bike and it hasnt been ridden much over the past 2 months, and the clutch does work correctly when put into gear. Will a cable luber work, or is it a waste?
-
Thats pretty much it, its a Clark, oversized tank pretty sure its a 5.5 gallon, will come with the fuel petcock as well. Looking to trade for a twist throttle setup with a TORS eliminator or try a trade???
-
Looking for the strip that goes under your fuel cap in black, the bike has come with an oversized white tank as well as stock tank and sleeve, but that strip is missing.

I know that this is an old thread, but Im getting mixed info from you guys and the local bike shop (and not neccessarily from this thread) .I was going to buy the WSM pistons, from ebay, so I called the local shop about bringing them in when I am bringing in the cylinders for the hone/bore. He told me that he wouldnt recommend anything other than a stock piston because they expand and contract much less than a Wiseco or a WSM. Im pretty sure that they are all forged, so once and for all, what is the best choice? Most of you guys have rebuilt at least once, what have you used? Also if Im replacing the pistons and the original bore (stock) is 64mm, then what size should I order before I even take out the jugs from the bike? In other words, how much smaller than the jug size should the ordered piston be?

Good luck tomorrow with the surgery brother! We'll all be thinkin of ya.
-
Maybe its the rim size that makes this thing look like a tractor, but those are actually 22 x 10-10's!
-
So the shee i just bought has come with two different sets of rear tires and rims, what are the advantages of the smaller or the larger sizes over the other? I certainly like the way that the smaller lower profile sizes look, but the larger ones are new and Id rather not toss them. The ones in the photo look giant!

Hey, Why dont you pm me and I can sed you some decent shots of the fenders etc... as I only am able to post 50 KB on here. See the tank anyway attached
-
Hell, Im Canadian, and I didnt know that!
-
I will send you a few pics tomorrow, I just picked up the machine yesterday! They are in good shape, no cracks etc.. What about the blacks, shape? Do you have the strip that Im looking for for my black tank? Its for an '01 black and white! Any pics of yours?
-
I guess I started the thread after all! Im also sensing a lot of internal issues with you guys? Not so sure I want to get into that! Thanks for all the info, now I feel right at home. I have learned a tonne in only a short time, in fact this site has convinced me to buy my second banshee. I sense we'll be hearing a lot of each other keep up the good work banshee hq, wouldnt have taken the leap without you!
-
Seems so simple now, thanks for the speedy response, now I wont miss a thing! Any others I should Know about?
-
Be super careful in the cold for sure, I just bought a shee from a guy in Guelph, who had been running it back and forth to his buddys down the street, and he didnt know that there was a leak in the seal under the boost bottle, and ended up melting one of the pistons on the exhaust side from it being too lean. Right here in Durham, by Lake Ontario, every couple of weekends, there are a bunch of local guys who take the shees down to Lake Ontario and rip around on the ice. They all swear by studding your older tires, now thats ice traction! The guys on this site have helped me figure out causes and soultions , and I take everything they say as lore! Are you in southern Ontario? Were building a track this summer if so?
-
What the hell do these all mean? I know Im Canadian, but were not that far apart? We dont even have any snow here! I figured if I waited long enough, Id figure it out, but Im aftraid Im missing out on something important. Someone should start a thread of all the shortformns that you guys use everyday for all of us laiments who cant figure it out, OR maybe its only me????
-
Hey man, Ive got a 01 shee with cut white front fenders, and an oversize tank also in white ,Im looking for a set of black cut front fenders as well as the blacktank cover and cover strip that goes down the centre of the tank under the gas cap. Lemme know?
