  1. Just a quick answer here, I mixed the fuel at 16:1 like the manual said before I squirted it in the carbs. It said to do that in the Haynes manual for initial break in. I did it just to see if the bike was going to fire, as I bought it in February and hadnt even heard it run yet! It took me this long because it is my first tear down, and I was taking my time doing it. Also I had to wait for parts to come in, vitos crank bearings took over 3 weeks to get. Ijust wanted to herar it run, thats all. It only rabn for a few seconds, and thats when this happened. Im not sure that the kicker isnt just stuck, thats actually why I came on here to ask, because I covered everything in the manual. I removed the overflow screwat the bottom of the float bowls, and there was fuel there, so Im still not sure why its starving for fuel. Fuel lines are clean, new jets, crossover tube hooked up, and new petcock.
  2. As some of you know, I have been building a new motor from the crank up since february. I have done a vitos crank, wiseco pistons, MS trail port, vitos hemi head with 20 cc domes and some other small stuff. Im at 270' above sea level. Yesterday I got her all done, mixed up 91 octane at 16:1 (blue marble premix) as per the clymer manual for initial break in. Once their was fuel in it and I kicked it over a few times, I came to realize that there was no fuel getting to the carbs. I checked the overflows at the botton of the bowls, and there was fuel there as well. I decided to see if it woulkd fire, so I took off the airbox and squirted about 10-20ml of fuel in each carb and tried again. It fired up first kick, and I was about as happy as I could have been. It idled for five to ten seconds, then sorta coughed and shut off. I thought it was out of gas, so I squirted a bit more in so that I could screw around with the idle a bit, thrn tried to turn it over. Thats when my worst fear became reality, as the kicker had locked up. I did everything by the manual, and I cant figure out what I might have done wrong? I didnt think taking the airbox off for 20 seconds would lean it out? I never touched the throttle, it only idled! Any help would be great, Im also considering offers! LOL!
  3. Shit dude, I dont know if you noticed, but I think your rod is bent! In case you hadnt noticed! Thanks for the advice, Im looking into alternatives
  4. The bowls were only taken off one of a time, so they were put back on the way that I got them. Whats the difference? The crossover tube is in place. The choke jet is a good question, Ill look in the manual for that one. The jets were cleaned thoroughly.
  5. I have been thinking about going to pods instaed of the single K&N, in the airbox! Will they be problematic for me if I occasionally hit water? Do I need to keep the airbox?
  6. OK, So I finally got the bike back together after having to cleanout the bottom end. I have installed a new vitos crank, pistons/rings, ported cylinders, vitos cool head and a few small other things. I have tried to start it and the carbs dont seem to be getting fuel? I have checked the obvious stuff like fuel petcock, fuel level, gas cap breather etc.... I have had the carbs out and checked the floats, fuel lines etc.... I have removed the overflow screws at the bottom of each carb bowl, and there is fuel there. Any ideas?
  7. Sorry to hear about your bro dude! If you post some pics in photobucket and let everyone take a look at it, the maybe some of the boys will recognize it and be able to help you out, even some close ups for the obvious stuff to be identified. To be sure though, you gotta open her up! Welcome to the site! This is the place to ask!

  9. Wish I could sell you the ones you sold me a month or so ago, but Im just bolting them on the bike tomorrow
  10. Yeah, but I have no yamaha dealer around.
  11. I dont use one, but the dual pingel would solve your problem, thats what its designed for
  12. Whats the most easily found product to use to seal the cases back together, and how long does it usually take to set up?
  13. So now that my cases are apart, Im wondering if the gouges that are in the bottom end below the crank, should somehow be fixed before reassembly? Actually theyre more like bad scratches! They were made when the rod bearing let go.
  14. Great deal there, where were you when I was lookin?
  15. Those new KTMs have a ridiculously low rebuild requirement. Like 50 hours or something crazy like that. One of the guys who works for me also has a sponsored ride from KTM, those things are like $15000.
  16. Anyuone got a hydraulic clutch setup that they want to part with
  17. Any cracks in the intake boots are cause for replacement. Im rebuilding as we speak, due to the exact same issue
  18. Would a twist throttle and cable off a set of 36mm PWK's, fit a stock setup?
  19. I have no idea how much do you want for the motion pro? Shipped to l1n1b2 canada?
  20. Nope, you can only lean a bike out before the cylinders. What it will do is leak oily shit all over your cylinders though.
  21. whats your paypal info?

  22. Looking for a twist throttle and cable. My tors is gone (isnt everyones), and would take one that has caps, and possibly the idle adjustment.
