  1. Alright guys, Im gonna order a new complete tranny from Nasty, and see what I can discover in the meantime. Never hurts to have a spare kicking around. Ill start with the basics, and go from there. Thanks for the responses.
  2. Simple as the title states.......Im having no luck shifting the bike out of 3rd. Happened while riding, new transmission in it a few months ago, incl gears, selector forks and shift star. It never seemed to shift quite right, even from day 1. If the bike is running, cant shift it, and if the bike is turned off, cant shift it. I know theyre ornary getting them into neutral at the best of times, but this has puzzled me. Any help would be great. Ive got an ad up in the wanted section for a set of gears etc.....if anyone knows of a good straight set, as I suspect thats the issue..
  3. Im looking for a stock tranny, unmodded shift star and a set of selector forks. Bought one on here 6 months ago, and turns out it wasnt true, and no longer shifts correctly. Please PM me, and as shown Im in Ontario Canada, so please include a shipping quote.

    Nerf bars

Im looking for a set of nerfbars for the shee. Must have integrated heel guards., either in black or aluminum.
  5. So the head hose goes to the overflow bottle or to the actual rad itself? The vents for the cases and the clutch cover then, are just both that....vents, as long as theyre routed up high enough, Im sure I can leave them seperate, right?
  6. So I have taken apart and rebuilt my motor, and for the life of me, I cant find where the small hose, that runs into the brass nipple on top of my Vitos 2 head goes to? Maybe I cut it to replace it, but nothing thats still hanging under the bike seems to reach this area. Small stupid question I know, but its got me puzzled. For that matter, while Im on here, what about the small hose that comes out of the front of the clutch cover (I think its a breather hose), where does it route too as well?
  7. Pulling the motor, and splitting the cases isnt that big of a deal, just get the manual if youre doing it for your first time. The biggest issue is having them open, while you inspect, clean and order whatever you need to fix it. Remembering how to put it all back together is sometimes the issue. Keep good notes for yourself in your manual if you come across something strange, and dont be afraid to come on here and ask questions. Take your time, itll go back together fine, and youll have a broader knowledge of your bike and be able to diagnose things more easily when they happen. Im having the same kind of issue with my clutch. I havent opened it up yet, but to be safe, I have always kept a spare tranny, clutch setup, gasket set etc.....just in case.
  8. So I was out for a ride down the side of the highway at the cottage, and when I got back and the bike quitened down a little bit, I could hear a pretty loud noise coming from the clutch housing (like a bjeewww noise, only higher pitch, lol). I pull in the clutch and the noise goes away. Obviously its clutch related, but any insight on what it could be before I pull the cover tomorrow? Also, likely Ill replace the clutch entirely while Im in there, so what are the advantages of a Hinson assembly over stock, and what are the advantages of stiffer HD springs? Im also having an issue since this happened shifting into 3rd.
  9. Alhough its never been quite right.........sometimes when I kick the bike over, the kicker goes all the way down without doing anything, like it doesnt mesh with the gearing? What would cause this, and how is it remedied? Thanks for your help

  14. Ill get in line to purchase it here, Id like to see pics though!
  15. Those pegs are sick. If I didnt have the IMS setup, Id be all over them. Are they made by you? Are they available in a drilled configuration for nerfs?
  16. Dude, theyre looking for a much bigger picture! Use photbucket to download them, youll get wayyy better results.

  19. Nice tutorial Muggzy, I couldnt see the shots, but I definitely get the idea. My neighbour has all the tools youre talking about including the metal lathe, so Ill see what we can come up with. Thanks everyone for the ideas, Now Ive just got to get off my ass and try them out!
  20. I too use the IMS pegs, and they look and perform like no other. Careful though, they EAT the soles of your expensive riding boots. I got mine from Josh Z, as he parted out a bike. I put an order in with him well in advance, and got a great deal over new. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roll-Design-Pro-Foot-Pegs-Yamaha-Raptor-700-IMS-/380068919586?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D310327753025%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5494574302653174786
  21. Might sound kinda dumb, but often theyll go WOT, right before they completely run out of fuel, especially when running hills.
