  1. Im looking for a jetting kit for my new carbs. I need from 150 -165 mains, and 50 -60 pilots. I have a full set of stock Mikuni jets that I can trade, or purchase, let me know. Im also looking for a new set of 34mm PJ carb tops and throttle cable housings, as these are incomplete / broken.
  2. So I just bought a set of 34mm PJs for my upgrade, and I bought a set of 30mm OKOs for a buddies bike, whats the big difference in manufacturers? Also, whats the advantage of a flat slide over a round slide?
  3. With a $1500 bill in my pocket, this is what Id do. IMO! If its bone stock, then do pipes & carbs, and port match the cylinders to match your choices and riding style. You can buy the pipes and carbs in the for sale forum to save a few bucks, and to get honest advice on your buys from other members. Theres a shit pile you could do, but these are expensive choices that would be nice to get at the beginning, and then build your bike around them.
  4. Welcome brother, youve come to the right place. Id be pretty weary about riding it after that whole thread of "dirt" etc..... on the plug. It needs to be checked out further for sure. Is the guy you bought it from a buddy or ? Dirt or anything for that matter on the plug is BAD! You mentioned that the plug was quite oily, that sounds rich rather than a leaned out engine, pull your plugs and post the pics of them clearly. Also, the kicker freezing up like that should be investigated as well. If water got into the clutch cover, then it can affect the clutch basket etc..... The kicker gears are notorious for getting jammed up. You had also mentioned that it wouldnt roll in any gear when pushed right? Maybe since the bike is new to you, you should do yourself a favour, and drain the oil (check it good for fragments) and coolant and put new in, for piece of mind. Let us know what you find
  5. X2, and dont run it anymore until you make that pilot change!
  6. WOW! Being from Ontario, Canada Ive never been to either of those places. Isnt it supposed to be a desert? Or at least an arid climate? Guess weve got global warming to thank for that!
  7. Got a set of spindles in the mail the day before Christmas, actually got lost in the rush of the season by the look of the box. It didnt matter though, the packing was still intact, and it looked like Dave was wrapping his grandmas china, perfect condition. Would not hesitate to do business with again, thanks!
  8. Yup, that simple, 5 minutes, not even!
  9. Fair enough, but whats the CEL? Is it a needle manufacturer? What will come in the carbs, and why isnt it a good choice? Do the main jet sizes come in increments of .5? My elevation is around 200' ASL. I have a set of jets for my stock carbs, complete set. Will the jets for the new carbs come the same way?
  10. OK, so Ive just bought a used set of 34mm PJs , and Im not sure where to start on the jetting. Obviously they dont have the stock jets in them, as they have come from Utah, my mods are listed, as is my elevation, can you help me out?
  11. Yeah, I was gonna say, isnt the weld supposed to prevent that from happening? I run a stock vitos crank, that I bought after it was rebuilt and welded, and havent had any issues with it, is it just the 4 and 10mils?
  12. Wow, a hole family with good taste in quads

  13. Somethings not right, is it Vista or windows 7? Are you at the neighbours typing away? lol!
  14. X4, great communication, fast shipping (he cant help customs), and better looking parts than I expected, thanks again!
  15. Dude, I have a set of front calipers off an 01, they came as extras with my bike. $60 + shipping. Im in Whitby ON.
  16. No offence dude, but the Clarke tank that was on my bike when I bought it, was the first thing I removed and sold. I liked the idea of the desert tank, but hated the look of it. I have a set of 34mm PJs on the way, so we'll see how they compare? If theyre better on fuel than the stockers, then Ill be glad to see the back of them.
  17. Im now running 320s, and 30s with my mods, 330s fouled a few plugs and the 27.5s still made it hard to start.
  18. To start, I am about 200', so our elevation is about the same. I run stock carbs for now, VF3s, uni foam filter no lid,and pro circuit pipes. I had a few issues in the late fall with a lean condition, so I bumped it up to a 330 which was rich, so now Im down to a 320, and its way better. So were very similar on our setups. As far as the carbs go, If you remove the airbox, you can see your slides for the carbs. To start off, just make sure they are in the same position as you let the slides rest, and that they both instantly pickup equally as you hit the throttle. Obviously there more advanced ways to set them up, but its a good starting point.
  19. What I dont get is, as you are riding, if the centrifical forge of the engine is pushing the pivot points outwards, and compressing the clutch springs, then why doesnt the bike act like its in neutral then? Ultimately arent the weights doing the same thing as a clutch being pulled in?
  20. +2 a arms (looks like what you have) will work with a stock length if that helps?
  21. Would you put a price on that swinger? PM me
  22. Forget your sig dude, whos your friend in the avatar? Also, Matt, whats the idea behind a "dune edition", which never seems to have an external ressie then? Does the oil and gas still mix?
  23. I have heims on mine, not sure if theyre shit or not, but I have no squeaks yet. I do use jigaloo extreme graphite, every ride or two, on the advice of my buddy, who has a fully stock 250r. Listen to Matt though, he deals with this type of thing every day.
  24. I have Burgard a arms on mine, +2+1, and its wider than both of my buddies LTR450s. Im presently at 50", and I have found it to be the perfect size for my trail and mx riding. It has lowered my bike by an inch or so, as Ive gone with a stock length shock, but I think the YFZs have a longer shock, so that wont be an issue. I bought my a arms used, but I would definitely steer away from them, as their coomunication is horrible. I have also had one hell of a time finding skid plates for the aftermarket arms, so Im gonna have a set made by a fabricator who lives across the street from me. Why not buy a used set of better quality a arms, and just purchase new ball joints for them for piece of mind?
  25. It takes a lot of nuts to come onto a forum where someone is a respected builder and publicly apologize, so for that I applaud you. Also to even come back after 3 weeks is a show of character, as you could have walked away Matt built my rear setup, and hes done a marvelous job! His communication is top notch, and he wont hesitate to tell you if something is a piece of crap, and not worth investing in. Speaking if which, start looking for those TCS parts, lol. Were all the same size on the computer, except Zilla, hes compensating for something else I think! Matt, like that 3 hour builder Baker, your bike is an anomoly, lets see a few pics?
