  1. In Ontario, its blue book value on the bike, forget the upgrades. I pay less than $100 a year on mine, $300 deductible for replacement value of an 01.

  3. I hope that makes sense. I need the boots between my carbs and airbox for 2 sets of carbs. I need them for 30mm OKOs, and 34mm PJs.

  5. Yeah X2, If youve removed the TORS from your bike, then youve removed the idle screws. There is a kit youre supposed to install to have your bike idle right, you have to drill and tap the side of each carb body.   6. Start by removing the pingel and checkin the inside of the tank for any debris on the screens, then move to the fuel lines, then into the carbs and jets for a thorough cleaning. If all that fails, then concern yourself with the jet size, IMO.

Heaths right, in the very least you have to split the cases to fix that bearing otherwise it can wear and allow fragments of metal to get into your gears and screw them up, or worse yet have it fail on you while riding. While your in it, replace all of the seals as well, its a cheap fix, just takes some time.   10. Is speed the only thing your concerned with? Are you dragging more than anything else, cause that will bring up a whole new line of questions and responses, than if you want a bike that has mulitiple purposes.
  11. Thats a hell of a way to introduce yourself to Jereme, lol. Hes right.......... porting, carbs, timing etc are whats gonna give you performance improvement, not boring it. Take only what you need to out of your sleeves, theyll last longer that way, and dont think your getting a great deal at $199 for the pistons, Wicked quoted me less than that for wisecos on a buddies build 2 days ago. Also, make sure youre getting the bearings with the piston deal, as thats a way that some of these guys get you interested in a package deal, then you open up the box when it arrives to find there arent any. 65.5mm bore is .60 over, not .20 over. The stock bore is 64mm, you know that right? Do yourself a favour and get a clymers manual for it, itll give you all the stock specs and torque settings for your build.
  12. Im running a pro flo adaptor with a pro design filter and its the bomb over the stocker. The vitos one from the pic looks like its a pressed steel adaptor? The pro flo is a cleaned up aluminum adaptor, and I believe its cheaper than the vitos.   13. Do yourself a favour as well brother, and get a clymers manual for the bike. Itll be the best $30 investment you can make. It gives you a run down on clearances etc.... and a troubleshooting area to get you started. I built my motor having no experience on 2 bangers with it, and the help of these guys! Good Luck.

  15. Welcome brother! Im with both Josh and Larry on this one. If its running lean and you can correct it before it blows a piston up and throws shcrapnel into the bottom end, then its gonna save you money, but if you dont have the funds to fix it right now and it hasnt got any worse over 2 years then go with it, and "if it breaks it breaks". The problem is, that by ignoring it you will end up costing yourself more.. The bottom line is, if youre in the top end to fix it, or at least to look at the issue close up, then your half way to investigating the bottom end as well. Its way cheaper to crack the cases, replace the bearing and seals than it is to have to possibly replace the crank, rods, pistons & head if it melts down. JMO! Good luck with it

  17. No I know a mikuni wont fit, thats actually what I said in my first post. What I was wondering is if a stock PJ needle clip will fit on a CEL needle?
  18. I have recently bought a pair of 34mm PJs, and im wondering if the needle clips off a stock PJ needle will fit on the CEL needle before I order a pair? I know a stock mikuni clip is .030" thickness, and this notch on the CEL needle is .020", so I cant use them.

  20. X2, strip it down man. Give yourself confirmation that the cases are clean. Its not a difficult thing to do, and youll have piece of mind.
  21. Thanks Wicked, I have in the past, seen guys who post a new set here that they no longer need, or whatever........ Just looking to see if there was one around? If I get no further response, I will contact you for sure, You have answered a multitude of questions for me since youve come on board, and have proven to be extra helpful. I, and the other guys appreciate that for sure. Nice bikes in the sig as well, that RZ 500 reminds me of my RG 500 I had in high school.
