  1. X-2 ^^^ If you are used to a 4poke, that's the problem. Wind that bitch out and let it scream. Banshees don't have much/any bottom end, and porting/pipes changes that. What do you have for mods?
  2. Those windows add how much power ????????????????
  3. To quote what I've seen: " Used cranks are like used condoms..............."
  4. Bore only enough to clean up damage
  5. So it did start? I was going suggest (guess) ice in petcock
  6. What they said ^^^ Leak-down wouldn't hurt either Pull exhaust and inspect pistons and cyl. (of what you can see) and see how much slop the pistons have.
  7. Does son's set-up have choke crossover tube? Or two choke knobs? I think some missed the fact you are talking/showing two different carbs on two different Banshees. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  8. You used new gasket? Have seen suggested to torque head to jugs then torque jugs down.
  9. What cost's more: New case+ trench Weld these
  10. Damn, usually a bunch of Negative Nancies when someone wants to port a cyl. Even have a site sponser being positive. Though you might not achieve Dick Measuring Dyno numbers, don't be discouraged. As Young Gun mentioned, those templates make the intake bridge to narrow for my comfort too. A search will/should show timings relative to port styles, ie, drag, dune, trail, etc. Besides McDizzy site, Gorden Jennings and H. Grahmn Bell, along with available comp programs for port timings, etc.. Pasi S. and another from Saudi, (or somewhere middle east) have sucessifully done own porting (most recently) and have some pics, etc. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
  11. Hadn't thought about Rattle Can Ray driving prices down with bogus adds. If a person is buying this works in your favor. If selling, so sorry. What slays me is his ad wanting to trade his junk for all kinds of things. (comp won't copy/paste sorry) I suggested "good deals" for O P. It's all relative. Buy a cheap one and put your own bolt ons, or buy with bolt ons, comes to about same dollar.
  12. Break down and buy a Clymers, Haynes, Or yamaha service manual. The end.
  13. Why don't you all post lincs of what you think are "GOOD DEALS" ? I've seen $1000 with 2x thrown at them and $2000 with 2x thrown at them. Nobody is happy/satisfied with what they buy. And just because it's older don't mean shit. An 06 could be as bad or worse.
  14. Good deal!! Give me $55, you pay fees and shipping, I'll take them
  15. Was it sudden? Was it acting strange before? Clutch adjusted correct? Oil in trans?
  16. Desert tank
  17. Might want to do some research. Straight A F doesn't have as low of freeze point as 50/50
  18. This was the post I wanted to quote. See above post ^^
  19. Pro stock only has to last a weekend, 4miles (?) max. And what is "stock" on them?
  20. Two weeks and you still haven't posted what jets you have. List both main and pilot size.. Nor have you cleaned the excess oil from filter. Leak-down test. X-99 on different filter. Take your time tapping the slide screws in the carbs. 3/4 turn in then back tap out 1/2 turn to break chips out. Be sure to file carb side down for lock nut to seat. Should be a sticky on how to do it plus that U-tube. Clean carbs well afterwards to remove chips. Do one carb at a time as slides and bowls are different. Right now you will need a 320-330 main, in August you'll need 290-300. DO NOT ride it right now with out proper jetting, you will burn the motor up in two minutes. Hell, I wouldn't even start it and rev it in the garage. It was below zero in your hood this morn, -20 for me. as mentioned read the manual, presumeing you are talking Yamaha service manual, not just owners manual. Read threads on this site, lots to learn from just reading. FYI, do not use castor bean oil in temps below 40*F
  21. no replacement for displacement
  22. Start w/27.5 p, should be close on mains, plug read or chop to confirm. There's a sticky in carb section with different setups listing jetting
  23. You increase jetting for cold weather?
