421 cub, 7mil cub, or 10mil super cub
sandman81 replied to BluBanshee98's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Hp doesn't mean shit if you can't get it to the ground. When it comes down to drag racing EVERYTHING needs to be set up right. Ive raced against a stock ported banshee on alky and i have trouble beating him. But he has override, lockup, gearing and paddle size dialed down. Vs 421 cub that doesn't have a override or a lockup. Even the number of paddles makes a defference. We've ran a stock jug 4mill with 9 and 10 paddles and the 10 paddles made a big difference. What come into play when drag racing, other then high hp numbers lockup vs non lockup override vs non override swingarm length (to long can be just as bad as to short) shock (rebound and compresion) gear ratio tire size( includes 9,10,11 paddle and so on) weight ( includes riders fat ass) -
Same reason i havent done, 6'2" and getiing close to 240, but im not big boned just fat.

Yeah the rap up faster but If your a little on the heavy side, it wouldn't be a good idea to lightened.

HOLY FUCK, you guys really revived an old post. -
I can pretty much say SonOfSand nailed it on the head. I got a 421 cub and I used it for trail riding. The only down side was fuel consumption, I could kill 5 gallon of race gas in like 5 hours and thats taking breaks in between. Another down side, my +5 swinger would make it hard to go into tight turns. so i would have to keep the revs right were the powerband would kick in so i could spin the tires and kick the bike sideways, but if i forgot what gear i was in or got tired and not keep the revs up and i would go into the trees. My shit would never hook, just too much power for dirt. but as for sand that thing is a wheelie monster and fun as fuck to ride. My opinion i think a 4mill for trials is not the best chioce just cuz i hate having too drive for my race fuel and then it only lasting one weekend of only 5 hours. Now i could make it run on pump gas but then that would just disgrace the cub. Good luck on your build.

It was a good night. But all i can say is FUCK bj penn. I hate that guy he so overrated, in the sense that he gets such a big hype of being such a great fighter. But yet he never has any condition, always gets winded by like the second round. when a fighter doesn't do his condition to prepare for a fighter that is a sign of disrespect to his opponent, the sport and his fans. When he faught aganst GSP he talked so much shit about "i wont give up blah blah blah" but yet he threw in the towel because he was out of breath and then goes on and trys to say the GSP is a cheater, give me a break. He my have talent ill give him that but being a great fighter he is not. Finally, vented it all out. Bring on the shit talking because i know im gonna get it.

Glad that worked out for you.

see if this helps jjandaracing then look under ATV Bearing Carriers.

It was about time we had a topic with some shit talking, well over due. Was gonna put my two cents in but he bailed to early. O well, just wait for the next bashing.

Im confused do you mean a 4mil stroker on stock cylinder or a cub with the stock crank. Do you know what a cub is?
-
I had a friend do this to his chopper and had no problems. What up Eric, how is the new house coming. Glamis was to tight halloween weekend that i had to go again the week end before thanksgiving. Sorry for the jacking.

Any suspension change will change the handling of the bike, you just need to make sure what you want the bike for. On my 4mill i have a +5 swing arm and for trailing it's not bad just the tight corners make it hard to turn, compared to a stock swing arm, but for hillshooting or flats it just want to pull wheelies. I can't launch it cuz it comes up to high. I'm gonna go longer swing arm because i want to use it for flat drags and hillshooting, so no more trail riding. So think about what you want it for then go from there.

It will make it leaner. you should of left it alone, one thing i learn is you can run it a million time rich but you can only run it once lean. if it is to lean your gonna mess something up. Find out what you problem with the excise amount of smoke is coming from then mess around with something else. Im likethe other guys i think it might be your seal, do the pressure test and see what happens.
-
What kind of premix you using. 32:1 is what i would be mixing it at. Unless your running like klotz or castor 927, or premix that can be mixed at 40:1 because your gonna have other problems. so is it still smoking more on one side then another.
-
I would put it in the middle or third clip from bottom up. higher clip postion is leaner lower clip postion is richer.

If i was you i would check with wsm to see what they recomend. wiseco ring gap is bore x .004. (bore in inches) convert mm to inches divide bore by 25.4. Since who is doing your work deals with auto engines. 0.012-0.018 inches is for stock cast pistons. is it 0.003 in inches and not 0.03 mm for side cleance, should be fine since 0.02-0.06 mm is for stock cast.
-
Who is doing your work? Your not gonna have to tell them anything. They know more then you on what to bore the cylinders, assuming its a shop that deal with banshee or two strokes. I don't think you should have anything to worry about, thats if your going to a shop that know what there doing. I don't get what your ring gap has to do with doing a really good break in. Doing a really good break in should always be done.
-
they shouldn't be different, thats for sure. I would put both at 25 but it wouldn't hurt to buy one of each and try both, the 28 and 25 and see what makes it run better. when you put them back together make sure there synced, that really important. Another thing don't mix up the slides cuz that will make your bike run like shit. Since the pilots are differentyou might as well check to see if the clip on the needles are in the same place.
-
First make sure you have good plugs. If you do then sync your carbs. keep us posted.
-
Thats blipping the throttle. I do that all the time and haven't had any problems.
-
You should ask the guy who is doing your port work, he should have a better understanding of you should need. X2 on grmeyer

I NEED A NEW CLUTCH. WHAT BRAND TO CHOOSE?

If it has a override then your not suppose to use the clutch. I would think if it has a override the guy who sold it to you should of said something about it. What are your mods. Race fuel would only make a difference on your compression ratio.
