  1. Well thanks for all the info. I think I'm gonna split the case and do it right before something worse happens. I appreciate all the help. I will keep you guys posted.
  2. Just gonna run it until it goes. Then gonna change it. I would rather not split it.
  3. Oh great. Thats not what I wanted to hear.
  4. I am sorry for the misprint. I did not have any play, sorry. I did change the seal But I could not tap it in because of the lip on the outside of the seal. So I cut it off and used a little silicone and tapped it in. Let it dry and put all back together and stopped smoking. Now hopefully it will be ok the way I did it.
  5. Well took the cover and gears off and found the spring on the seal came off and was between the seal and the gear. I did feel any play in the bearing. I know the motor was just rebuilt when I bought it a couple months ago. Do I need to put silicone around the seal or just a little oil?
  6. Checked the dip stick for trans and it was low. I know it was full last time I went riding. So that is telling me the crank seal is bad or leaking. Do I have to remove the clutches and basket to change the seal?
  7. Well I moved the needle back to where it was before. I never ran it at the other setting i moved it to. So I really only changed the main to 260 from 280. I thought about going bigger to try that. I didn't pull the plugs to check them yet. tomorrow is another day.
  8. Ok, now that I can take the carbs apart in my sleep. I looked on Pro Curcuit web site to get info on jetting eith their pipes. It said to run 260 mains and 25 pilots. I did this and took it for a little ride and seemed like it had more power. But bogged when I hit the throttle. And I also took off the boost bottle and installed a crossover pipe. And still smokes . And a friend told me the motor would have blown already if it was the crank seal becuase of sucking air! And truth to this? And are the main jets to small? Oh and I also moved the needle clip back down to the second slot from the bottom.
  9. Ok, so I took the carbs apart to change the pilot, and it was a 25 in the right carb. So all jets match. Pulled the reeds and looked good. Pulled the right pipe and it was dry inside, but the tailpipe is wet . I took the boost bottle off and have to get plugs for the holes tomorrow. Also, the needles were on the second slot from the bottom. So I movrd it up to the forth from the bottom(second from top). This will make it leaner, correct?
  10. No the trans oil does not smell like gas. I looked for a thread for pressure testing the motor, but didn't find anything.
  11. I have pro curcuit pipes. I have oil residue at the exhaust tip. It does run strong. trans oil looks grayish from clutches. Coolant is fine. IWould I have gas in the trans if it was trans seal?
  12. Just has K&N filter on. And it is not fouling plugs. I did switch sides, and still the same. So is the tranny crank seal hard to change? And with out tearing it apart can I tell?
