  1. incoming padla brat comment...
  2. They make a huge difference. If you're literally only going to use them once a year, just get anything besides sand gecko's. Any v-blade or straight blade will work. Just look here or CList for some local. Can be had for 40-100 bucks usually. Try to get some that dont have dented rims or leak air if possible. (it annoy's the crap out of me personally).
  3. ya, with my domes and these cylinders, this bike is sure to hit at least 120 mph. while its broken down in the back of a truck.
  4. Try a 27.5 pilot
  5. im starting to feel bad for even installing and trying to run them now... when i got them i was like wtf.. but i figured im not an expert, so i went with it. Fuck me.
  6. i did the satin black 1100 degree bbq paint on some fmf's a while back, they actually came out really nice, not dull, but not glossy. They held up ok for about a season, but at that point the heat near where the pipes come out of the motor and curve basically burned off somewhat. If you dont mind pulling them off, sanding a little and spraying them it's cheap and easy. This was after a season when i sold them.
  7. use a round small flat ended punch... and a vice, and work you're way around from the opposite side, they're a pain if they've been in there a while. There is a cut in them so chance are if you hit it hard enough in the right spot they'll start to bend inward and push out. I just did it a while back.
  8. I got them straight from Jim, was just trying to be funny..and not cause a flame war
  9. Thanks for all the help so far guy's. Yea i suppose pastry is right, sniper domes. I'm not to worried about that last ounce of power, hence the pump gas, so ill stick with .50-.55 area then. After 3+ trips last season chasing crazy detonation and the retarded running temps and trying to jet it, on a motor with more than enough octane, and guaranteed sealed up tight with no airleaks, im kinda aiming to be able to ride this season. Because let's face it, getting out to the dunes costs a decent chunk of change, working on my bike is fun but i can do that at home.
  10. I don't want to name names, just wanna get it running right. I have a set of 24cc domes that look identical to those jmadd. Once I get my cylinders back from milennium Mayne ill see what kind of squish/comp I have with that set, and if need be have another set cut that are more normal.
  11. i was running costco 91, mixed 30/70 vp 110 and it still backed a plug out once after a hard long wot run, even while rich. Both sources of gas were fresh. All i can guess is the custom cut domes with their weird angles(4), had something largely to do with it. It detonated terrible on anything under 100 octane, and after it backed a plug out at 100+ octane and only 152 psi kicking compression, i parked it since it was the last trip of the season. ill throw up a pic of the domes just for refrence. They were supposed to be specifically for pump gas only.
  12. what's a somewhat optimal squish for a 421 cub on pump gas? it was .62 with the custom cut domes i had and a .012 base gasket(152 cranking psi), and detonated pretty reliably so i didnt run it, but im going to change it to a .020 base gasket and different domes. Should i be shooting for .45-.50 like most race gas cubs? or is it different for pump gas. Thanks in advance, couldn't seem to find a direct answer to this, and i have 2 months to figure this motor out.

  18. it's all good, just took 3 weeks+ to get 15 bucks back...but i wasnt about to let them keep it on principal. ended up with a radiator im happy with...that came with some sort of warrenty, and in an actual box with a name brand.
  19. i have the same exact wicked arms as sheerider, bought em about 2 years ago. Nothin but good things to say about them. +1
  20. hahaha...awesome.
  21. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160956284546?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 i went with this one because ASI are a bunch of scammers. they tried to take 15 bucks for shipping on a radiator they never shipped and i had to open a paypal claim to get my money back. Then they told me they would get my ebay account closed if i didnt remove the negetive feedback. Total bs. Anyways this radiator is well built, fit perfect, and is actually in fountain valley in california. i was happy with what i got.
  22. Still for sale
