  1. yah, u need to check for air leaks, and if none, moovethe needle a knotch richer, check all the passages for debris, check the choke. once th idle is good between 1-2 turns on the air screws, see if it boggs in the mid throttle. if not, you're good
  2. hell yah, i want a slip-on in a t-shirt
  3. ditto. /\ make sure it's completely clean and dry before you glue it.
  4. i belive the red and brown wires go together, and the black, and black/white wires stay disconnected.
  5. k&n for trail, imo
  6. omg, ur a saint! wish i could find a deal like that when i have the extra cash. i guess the strip club got my pipes
  7. welcome to bhq,, your new addiction, and just wait till u ride :woot:
  8. i think so. prolly wal-mart; fred meyer too. been around for years. air box shouldn't take off power with the top off. and your setup depends on how much water is actually getting up there.
  9. yah scared the sit out of me sliddin around my tahoe gettin warmed up. snow got on my pipes makin steam in front of my head, and i could smell coolant, then i remembered that i had over filled the ressie and forgot to drain it down
  10. yah, pretty much teflon. make sure they're dry before you use them. keeps the oil on the filters, and water out. can get alot cheaper locally
  11. sync hose? is that the choke tube? make sure it has a good seal to the intake. did you have the carbs out, or just to the side?
  12. ohm check your stator. not sure what it should be, but could've burned up
  13. rick james biotch! 4 strokes waste 1 1/2 revoulutins on moving and compressing gasses, and 1/2 rev. making power. 2 stroke is 1:1. like having the power of 2 cylinders come out of 1, without the dead weight and drag of the extra cyl. with the epa push, 4 stroke technology has made vast upgrades in efficiency eqalling more power from the same fuel. 2 stroke is held on a pedistal by 4 stroke engineering as a plateau to surrmount. however, the 2-stroke has been all,but abandoned for advancement, but there are some advancements in 2 stroke technology, one i've already been employing, and the other is a valving, which i have been keeping a close eye on. pretty soon, 4 stroke will be great, even on par with current 2 stroke, but 2 stroke will be ungodly
  14. i'm thinkin tors? is it still pluged in? if so, try push the throttle a little, and see if it sparks.
  15. it's about praferance, and your own geometry. put the front up on a trailer ar something and lean foreward like you're climing, then if you can, moove the shaft up an inch and do it again. then see how it is if you land a jump. it's all on you. i can only warn you this- my friend put risers on his sled, and when i hopped on to jump it, it was a little akward going into the jump, bu worse, when i lamded, there wasn't enough room for my arms and legs to take it together. i broke the schaphoid bone in my hand, and was out for 6 months of riddin. and that was fast for that bone. i'm taller, but ride a little more aggressive than him, so be carefull if you let someone else ride.
  16. go to the parts store, ask for freeze-off. use it just on the stud
  17. that's wierd. how did it crossthread comming off? i've had nuts gaul the threads before
  18. well... environmentallists have been harrassin the sno-go community and thier limited ridding spots, but 90 percent of what they point out as an environmental impact is actually from dirtbike and foot traffic in high volume. if it were tracks, it would overlap, being 2.5 foot wide, not 10". and as far as they're concerned, dirt bike, quad, atv, same thing. in short, it's a blame game on our side of the war, and sierra club sucks! :: :wallbash: SCS racing motha!
  19. and to think i was bit chin about the markup on the 5 dollar item a few years ago
  20. odg is that the price this year?
  21. wash + dry +scotch gaurd = good as new... i wonder if you could bolt raptor carbs and intake to a 2:1? just an idea- kinda like x-pipe
  22. the parts store has moisture caps that you put in the spark plug holes. when i take it out of storage, i like to mix up some 1:1. pour a little through the holes, turn it over slowly, then a little more, put the plugs in and fire it up.
  23. elvis baught my banshee new in 97 and then it was used for les. prn. shoots untill i baught it. bidding starts @ 10,000.00 whoops typo, i meant 100,000.00 us. what a deal! :woot:
  24. prolly that cylinder was at the bottom and rusted rings and jugs, and the other side was coverin ports. if tht was the case, i wouldn't trust the bottom end either. i would offer him 300-500 bucks an build a +4
  25. can you move the shaft in/out alot? could've slipped past the retainer and spring fell off dowel? did you have it apart? neutral can be hard to find sometimes when you're not rolling so that you don't accedentally catch it shifting between 1&2
