  1. Right on ABM, I've seen a Canny or two running MX but not on our TT track yet. All you need is helmet & goggles, and number plates. The rear number plate is probably the most important. They don't require anything else, but I would recommend nerfs, a working tether kill switch, boots, gloves, and a chest protector. Stock or knobby tires are fine, this next race I'm gonna run my Holeshots instead of the Hoosiers (I'll take them just in case), the track has been wet and muddy lately so the knobs actually do better. Is the Cannibal all stock or has it got some mods? It should work great, there's not too many around but I'm sure you'll have no problem. Hope you can make it, let me know if you need anything, if all goes right I'll be at the track at 7am.
  2. As for the pain, get a kidney belt, they are worth it. One trick I've learned is after a real hard day ridin', take 3 Ibuprophins before you hit the sack. The next day you won't be sore at all. Other than that, keep riding, you'll either get in shape or die trying...
  3. If it's rich at 50 it should lean out at 20, just be careful that it's not running TOO lean when it gets cold. That is a 2 into 1 pipe, right? I'd try the same jetting when it gets colder and see how it runs, or do a plug chop and find out for sure on the mains. You need to jet richer when it gets colder, but it sounds like you're on the rich side now. Good luck.
  4. Sounds rich, are you sure the air filter is clean? I mean, really clean (and oiled properly)? Also, what's your elevation (or location)? Did you just change the premix ratio or have you always ran 40:1? Did it just start doing this? You sure the floats are set to the right height? If the air filter is clean, I'd try backing out the airscrews a half turn and see if it helps cure the off-idle bog (if so you can keep going out until it revs off idle cleanly). You can also try going one size smaller on the mains, but with colder weather setting in you don't want to jet it too lean. Got some stuff in the Jetting FAQ that might help, good luck.
  5. Thanks D34, I think I found one, hopefully the weather will cooperate...
  6. Stan, NOOOOOO! Marriage is the ultimate test of patience man, granted owning a Banshee is a close second but at least they shut up once in a while... Justin, glad you found the problem and it wasn't the cages...I wouldn't feel bad about the cage porting, 99% was perfect and hey, now you have some experience, right?
  7. Sheeya, I got the bucks, gonna send ya a PM...
  8. Hopefully I'll be there, if I can find a stator... ABM You gonna try and make it? Ridingorhiding hope you and Jason can too...
  9. I've never seen 'em race, but the bikes are pretty sweet. I did see a KTM factory set up for Supermoto (or Supermotard as I think they call it in Europe) in person...all I could think was how sweet a Banshee would be with tires like that, racin' on asphalt. Supposedly Jeremy McGrath is racin' Supermoto now...
  10. Mmm sounds good, I've been wonderin' exactly what they were for a couple years. I'd trade ya some frozen, skinned, roasted hot green chile (from Hatch, NM, best there is) fer a soupie...got about a bushel and a half left in the freezer from this year's crop, we started with 3 bushels...not quite as labor-intensive to roast, skin & bag 'em as buildin' a soupie but damn good stuff...
  11. Yeah...Lucy Liu has a nice one, heh Seriously, I may have a Banshee motor soon (read that: sometime in the next few months), if it works out I'll let ya know. From what I can tell the topend is shot but the rest should be OK, I'm just after the rolling chassis for my RZ...
  12. Maybe fleabay, or you could get a Dyna from www.pro-flo.com Either way will be cheaper than buying a new one from a Dealer...
  13. I don't think it'll matter on which way the reeds go on (relative to that notch). And that one spot, when the reed is shut is there any air gap at all?
  14. You might run some emory cloth around the inside of the spacer and on the axle where the spacer runs (not on where the bearings ride!). It's more critical that it's the right length between the bearing races than a tight fit against the axle shaft...
  15. I just polished the stock brake lever...then I went insane and polished the whole brake master cylinder and thumb throttle housing
  16. They should be OK they way you described: one facing up and the other down, without any sealant on 'em. You might make sure the rubber plugs are in place in the cylinders, that's where the coolant passage ends (same on my RZ, I'm fairly certain, anyway the coolant doesn't go into the top case at all on either one). The indentations in the top case are just part of the casting, what's most important is the sealing surface around the perimeter of the cylinder hole.
  17. NICE job Justintoxicated, looks great (might want to see if you can blend that one spot in the top left opening where the dremel cut a little deep). Take off the rubber in those corners: I used a small thread file (triangular cross-section) and it worked great, those can be a sharp corner. Excellent work though, how long did it take ya?
  18. Stylemaster, if it's been sitting that long I'd drain the old fuel and go with fresh premix (I'd pull the carbs and clean 'em too just in case)... B370 that was classic, painfully true for me however.

  20. I dunno, did you order them direct from Works? Mine took 2-3 weeks, but that was a couple years ago...
  21. Thanks NYUK. Sheeya, I'm workin' on it but might be next week before I got the dough, if you get another offer don't save it for me...but I'll send a PM and let you know.
  22. Where are you located? If you ship UPS you can have the freight charged to my work. I'll see if I can scrape up a c-bill...
  23. And I voted "both", but why isn't there an option for "both at the SAME time"?!
  24. OK where's the moderators? Doesn't this belong in the "Wanted" forum? Or "Product Reviews"? JUST A JOKE DON'T ANYONE GET ALL BENT!! Oh wait, lets see...my wife prefers steak but my dog likes chicken (don't give him the goddamn bones!!), his long-lost littermate hates chicken fried anything and has risen from the grave to claim vengeance on deep-fried food eaters and has started a nazi movement...aw hell I'm no good at soap opera and talk show sarcasm so cut me some slack here, I'm sure I coulda worked in something about a gay lover or gravy haters but that's all I got
  25. Yeah, I don't usually recommend other people buy a Banshee either...{evil grin}..."sure, roll out that loud, stinky, ugly thumper...you paid how much for that? Seems kinda...slow."
