  1. Now we got a good reason, the black shirt for the coal, Meat's Banshee for the design (albeit an older pic)...c'mon someone. BTW my chances are now about 75/25, I'm working on it and really hope to make it there...
  2. Yeah, where's Dune-a-tic? and C&B? aw hell I don't even know where I'm at half the time...my mind's still back in Dumont...
  3. Welcome 01Banshee.UK, nice Banshee. Wish I could help with the water issue, unfortunately the solution still eludes us but it only seems to happen with stock carbs, so the only 100% solution I know of is going to aftermarket carbs or single carb. BTW if it has an aftermarket air filter I'd keep it, the stocker is junk!!
  4. Until I get more time here's the short version: I had the time of my life at Roostfest; awesome sand hills, excellent weather, meeting the coolest people (and riding, racing, wrenching & hanging out with them). The dune train was a blast, even when I was getting blasted (thanks b370 and fixitrod!), so was night riding with Justintoxicated, tray surfing with Indubitably, carving some bowls with Wallrat, Stan, and JKJK, ingesting Banchetta's antifreeze (cough), talking Glamis with Yamahammer, following evil in the rail, riding with everyone (not sure if I got out on a ride with mrmatt or not), and shooting the hill. And the topless dancers in Vegas were damn nice too. All in all it was unforgettable, and I cannot wait for the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks

Woohoo! Thanks Lee! Just got back from Roostfest and catchin' up, and here's a spiffy new forum, sweet! The next Tularosa, NM TT race should be on April 4th, not sure until I get the flyer but I'll post it when I do (last race of the season, other than the Monster Truck show, should also be in April). Too bad Ryan can't make it since he got sent to Iraq, with any luck we'll both be ready for the next season to start in September...
  6. Hmmmm...Shamokin is 1800 miles from Roswell; that's just twice the distance Roostfest was... Hey Stan, road trip?
  7. No doubt Zodo, when I left here fuel was $1.59, think I paid $2.29 a couple times in Nevada and Arizona... I think we could scrape together 6 or more guys; there's alot more places I want to go: Glamis, Little Saharas, St. Anthony, Coral Pink, Oregon, Silver Lake, coalfest, etc etc
  8. Sounds like everything's cool led, good to hear. BTW I used a matchbook for the pickup coil gap...
  9. Matt, I'm running a TM Designworks chain slider and love it. Think it's got a lifetime warranty too, but it's been holding up for a couple years perfectly. Not sure about their rollers since I haven't tried them, but my stock upper roller shelled out sometime Saturday, I'll probably just replace the bearing but you can get the whole roller from TM, MSR (via RMA or others), UPP, or dirtly.com.
  10. I had a good time with everyone, young and old, East & West. No regrets; I went to have fun and succeeded. Hope those pics Justintoxicated took of the tray surfing came out, hehehe
  11. Whatever dude. You want some cheese with that whine?? I had a blast; I'll be at the next one; and you damn sure won't hear any crying-ass bitching from me...
  12. I'm back at the salt mine too, made it as far as Flagstaff and stayed at a Super 8 Tuesday night, left there at 6:30am and got to Roswell at 4pm Monday. Work is just as bad as I thought it would be after a week off...but DAMN that was one hell of a week off!!!! Words can't do it justice, I had one hell of a good time. Don't know what else to say, it was unreal; the dunes, weather, ridin', racing, meeting everyone and having fun... WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE?!!
  13. Yamaha also has all the parts microfiche available online, including models like RZ350 that Ronnie's doesn't. You can find all the part numbers there...
  14. One other thing; if the outside pad is wearing like crazy and the inside (left side when looking at the caliper from the rear) is like new, your axle nuts might be loose...had that problem once.
  15. Best of luck STLBill, not much I can add to the other posts...selling your Banshee is one thing, and might be the best solution at the moment, just hope you're still ridin' something...
  16. Right on Screamin, we'll throw a little sand for ya at Roostfest...
  17. Might just need to adjust the airscrews, no it's not normal. Details in the Jetting FAQ below, which might also help when you get pipes & air filter (BTW the air filter is clean and installed correctly, right?)...
  18. How's this evil? Mebbe Dennis Leary would be better...
  19. Welcome oldturtle. If you ride 2-stroke dirt bikes you made the right choice with a Banshee, nothing else is close. The only thing mine doesn't like is mud & water...ANYTHING else is fair game.
  20. OK if you're changing carbs you know you'll have some trial and error there dialing it in, BUT if it did the same thing with the last carbs you need to find that problem before doing any jetting. Some good ideas here already, you either need to start tryin' stuff or try and narrow down the problem for us. I'd start with electrical like . said, sounds kinda unlikely but is the whole TORS system gone? Control box above the left cylinder and e-brake switch? Check reeds & intake gaskets? Check compression? Try new plugs? Check for air leaks on the new manifold? Air filter clean? (sorry, along with not turning the fuel "on" it happens to all of us) If all that checks out I'd start on the jetting, sounds like the main and/or needle may be way rich...
  21. That last desert race I did, mine drank 2.5-3 gallons in one loop; 23 miles and roughly 45 minutes...that was alot of wide open riding tho; stock carbs with 370 mains, pipes, etc. I usually get 2 hours of dune riding out of a tank of fuel (stock tank).
  22. Right on mrmatt!!
  23. Sick Boy I wasn't tryin' to rag on anybody, just get frustrated when I get a pretty cool idea and lotsa guys show interest...then nothin. Here's the crest reworked, about as good as I can get it on a PC: Here's a tribal Yamaha tuning fork logo I did: Here's a shirt layout I did a while back but I guess nobody liked: And a logo I did for our company (earthwork), I use it as a decal on my bike since they sponsor me: I just wish I had the ability to do cut vinyl decals and printed decals on my own... BTW I had a buddy airbrush your avatar on a white t-shirt and it came out awesome (yes it's another design I've done, along with a few other guy's avatars here). I want him to do it on a black shirt with dark blue & gray next.
  24. An old Indian chief sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a ceremonial pipe, and eyeing two U.S. government officials sent to interview him. "Chief Two Eagles," asked one official, "you have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his material wealth. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done." The chief nodded in agreement. The official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?" The chief stared at the government officials for over a minute and then calmly replied, "When white man found the land, Indians were running it. No taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, women did all the work, medicine man free, Indian man spent all day hunting and fishing, and all night having sex." Then the chief leaned back and smiled, "White man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that."
