Generally, how do the 4 strokes compare to a 250 2 stroke. I have been thinking about getting one, but was looking for some input on maintenance costs, and going 250 or 450 power wise?

Rads are painted black to transfer heat better. By leaving the fins silver you are lowering the efficiency of the rad a bit.

What are the mods on your motor, what is the jetting and how do you know it is overheating? The most expensive coolant, or the biggest radiator wont cure a blown head gasket or lean jetting.

What is the 2010 Banshee if they don't make them anymore?

The Castrol oil will work just fine for your motor. There is no need to use fancy expensive oil in a stock motor. Especially if it is not readily available where you live. Nice looking banshee by the way.

What oil do you think is getting past the rings? You need to do some research on the difference between a 2 and 4 stroke motors.

Break in has nothing to do with a hole in a piston.You can run a new top end as hard as you want to as soon as it is warmed up and not have issues. Check your fuel cap breather is not blocked, and take the fuel petcock out and clean the screen. When you rebuild, do a leakdown test and check the intakes with carb cleaner to rule out leaks.

Mine worked great, but a few guys have had problems with the tach or the unit resetting at high revs. Make sure you run resistor plugs. I mounted mine on the bar pad and just hooked up a 9v battery to it. Take it easy when installing the speedo sensor magnet as there have been posts about guys breaking them while installing.

A little more bottom end, and a little less top end.

Most guys on here will tell you to run premium, but a Banshee with a stock head will run just fine on 87.

TORS OBSESSION AGAIN Read the post. Guys headlight switch is not working, and he says the motor is running great. What has that to do with the TORS.

Why. Jumping to conclusions is everybody's favorite pastime. Along with blaming TORS and boost bottles for everything ever wrong with a banshee and telling guys that if they dont run engine ice they will overheat.

A cool head is not much of a performance mod. It has zero effect on jetting.

If the cylinders are on with no pistons, then the rod is probably stuck in a port. Take it apart and do it right before you fuck it up more.

Maier makes carbon look plastic fenders. They cost nowhere near $1300. And $450 for a seat??? and it has black painted Fattys. Those are fake receipts or the owner got badly raped by someone.

I thought WSM are supposed to be forged pistons. Why did the skirt crack on the old piston? It is usually from excessive bore wear that allows the piston to rattle around in there. Get your bores measured at a machine shop first before buying pistons.

I was looking at buying one of those welders to repair a Rv tank. I decided to get it fixed by a local guy instead, and it was the best decision I made as the repair work cost the same as the repair kit, and after seeing the heavy duty equipment he used I would never have been able to get close to the same result with the small welder like you got. I would say that a used set of plastics would be a better deal than repairing what you have, but you have already bought the welder. Try practice on a spot under the seat that wont be visible first to see what it will look like on the fender.
