yea thats weird, the fisch im lookin at right now doenst show a lockwasher either, but im positive my banshee has one and I know I didnt put it there. Im lookin at my "Genuine Yamaha service manual" and on page 3-42 it says... Install: *CDI magneto *PLAIN WASHER *Nut (CDI Magneto) And the flywheel nut should be tightened down with a torque wrench to 58 ft-lbs

banshees run hot and they will spew antifreeze, its normal. you just need to keep an eye on your level and make sure you don't overheat it too much. Alot of us run inline tempeture gauges, its nice to keep an eye on that temp gauge so you know when its running hot. Once she starts to overheat, find a nice long stretch of road and take it for a nice 1\2 throttle cruise down the road, this does two things, it gets cool air pass over the radiator and keeping it running allows cool gasoline to enter the cylinders to cool her down from the inside. Keep an eye on that antifreeze level tho, if its spewin' really really bad and the engine is so damn hot that you can't get your hand close to it, then your having more serious problems. Possible causes could be a blocked coolant passage or more likely a melted water pump impeller. Melted water pump impellers happen, and the aftermarket sells a billet aluminum one to replace the meltable plastic stock one. Meltable

Smokin350 is on the blue banshee.... http://www.thebansheezone.com/Smokin'%...ag%20Racing.wmv

373cc I seen smokin350's Vito's 404 spankin everyone at CoalFest. The only races I seen him lose was the ones near the end of his passes when his clutch started to fade. That was one fast big bore. And reliablity.... iv been riding a Vito's 404 for over 3 seasons now and im still on the first set of pistons, the compression has only dropped a little and she's still runs great. Reliability issuses on a big bore motor are a non issue if you take care of your quad. My engine is starting to feel tired, but the compression is still great, about 165 with 20cc domes and im sure I can ride it for the rest of this year and all of next year without a rebuild. big bore info spoken from experience.

the new hondas are nice, but they're not known as speedsters. good kill tho.

Agreed. SSD bud, thats not cool. Thats not how we help our fellow bhq members. We were all learning this stuff at one time. Take your own advice and be patient when your replying to a 15 year member who's learning this right now. He's 15 and he tore the top and bottom end apart, re-assembled everything and now he's havin some tuning issues. I don't think telling him the "biggest problem is the person workin on it" is going to help him solve his problem. Sweetshee, did you test your oil level like I said a few days ago ? You gotta be 101% sure that your not burning oil. I have a hunch that your NOT burning oil through the seals because you just replaced em correct ?? Air screws. Get a flathead skwoo dwiva and turn both screws all the way in till they seat. Seat em lightly, they are made of a soft brass and you can damage em if you tork em down hard, just screw em all the way in till they stop going in any farther. Now screw em back out 1-1\2 turns. Both of em... 1-1\2 turns out. The air screws only effect throttle position at idle to about 1\8th throttle. Get em set at 1-1\2 turns out and leave em alone for now, you should jet your main jets in first. Main jets. PassionRE should be able to get you within' 2 sizes of perfect. Make sure you tell Jim what brand of pipes your using, what air filter setup your using, what your altitude is and the air tempertures are currently. The main jets control throttle position at about 3\4 throttle to WOT(wide open throttle). Get the engine warmed up by riding around the back yard or whatever... get her warmed up first before you start testing your main jets. If Jim tells you that 320 main jets will get you close, then you need to go buy main jets sizes 350, 340, 330, 320, 310, 300, 290 and a set of 280s. Start jetting with the biggest main jets you own so you are gaurnteed to be rich. Find a nice straight stretch of road where you can wind it out in 4th gear. You dont' have to be WOT the whole run, just get her moving through 1st through 4th gears and then when your in 4th gear, take it to WOT. When your about 3\4 throttle it should start bogging and sputtin' and you'll prolly not even get to WOT, you might even foul a plug. Thats what we want to happen*sorta*. You want to start off jetting on the rich side of the jetting spectrum. Now some guys like to kill the engine and read the spark plugs, a black tipped spark plug will tell you that you were running rich, a white tipped plug.... like how they look brand new... tells you your running lean. But if you put in 3 sizes larger than what Jim recommends then you should def be rich and you should experience the bogging like I mentioned. If your sure that the main jet is too big\rich, then drop down ONE size on the mains and take it for another ride. Keep dropping main jet sizes till it pulls cleanly from 1\2 throttle past 3\4 all the way to WOT or damn close to WOT. Once you have the mains dialed in, or very very close to dialed in, then its time to fine tune your air screws. Needles, I always recommend leaving them in the stock positon, meaning dont move the little clip. The stock position is in the 3rd\middle groove. Moving the needle clip shifts the whole jetting of the carbs, moving that clip one position either way, causes a significant jetting change and effects your main jets and your pilot jetting. If you move that clip around, you'll prolly need to re-jet the mains and airscrews\pilots to match. Aftermarkte needles come with little washers that you can put under or over the needle clips, these washers effectly double the amount of grooves in the needles, and allow you to fine tune your needle jetting without causing a MAJOR jetting change, the washers allow you to adjust the clips in 1\2 increments instead of full groove increments. Aftermarket needles are nice to have if your running stock carbs and you have a ported engine. Toomey sells a set, Motion Pro sells a set and Vito's sells a set. I run a set of Vito's needles in my carbs. Vito's sells needle sets for stock motors and ported motors, make sure you buy em for ported motors if you decide you want a set. They're like $30 bucks. Before you work on your jetting make certain that your not burning tranny oil. Make sure your not leaking tranny oil on the ground either. Make certain the engine is broke in properly. Jet on a nice warm day, low humidity is better. Cherry, apple or pumkin ? Try buyin an aftermarket pie maybe.

Well said Bigwill !!! I wanted to say the same thing but didnt have the time to write it up. Just because Saddam was killing his people doesnt mean we have to fix thier problem. We can't be the worlds police force. 28% of my paycheck goes to taxes and a percentage of that goes to the big war machine thats fighting half way around the world. Im having a hard time paying all my bills from month to month and George W wants 800 more billion to rebuild a country I have no interest in helping, hell that retarded Bush wants billions of my tax money to man on Mars, but thats another topic. Its well known that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Bin Laden is our problem. Radical muslims are our problem. I see Iraq as\was a problem, but low on our "problem list", now we have nearly all our military resourses tied up in Iraq and 1000+ American soldiers killed and we still dont have Bin Laden and we made the whole anti-american sentiment worse than what it was before 9/11. These muslim people want the Unitied States out of Saudi Arabia becasue its thier holy land, I say we get the f*ck out of there and give them thier wishes, it IS thier land. BTW I havent' seen Farenheit 9-11 yet, but I wanna.

why isnt jim from Passion helping you ?? he should be able to get you real close with your jetting specs.

I hear the '05 YFZ's are coming with a 6 pack of new batteries and a fire extinguisher. They've got major charging problems, the battery will overcharge and all sorts of electrical problems caused by the overcharging. Not too much of a problem for trail riding and just messin around, but once you start racin' em, you better stock up on spare batteries.... and remember to "stop, drop and roll" if you catch your ass on fire.

my first thought was 5500, its cool to see everyone else is thinkin 5500. Bitch is.... 99% of the atv buying public has no idea what an RZ motor is all about.

we won. I didnt race tho, just worked the pits. My cousin and two other guys raced a grizzly 660 in the Utility class. 6 hours of racing and they won by 8 minutes over the second place Praire. I had a great time, took a bunch of pictures and met alot of new freinds. Seen alot of pro riders too. Im getting really addicted to racing, everyone's gotta check out an atv race sometime. and the 30,000 dollar purse.... that was wrong info, the big 30grand purse is at the 12 hour race of america thats held in Iowa... on oct 30th. Where the hell is Iowa anyways I think its south of north dakota.....

wait a minute. maybe you shouldnt be doin that leakdown test just quite yet. Guys gotta remember that sweety here is only 15 yrs old. Im bettin' that sweetshee doesnt have a leakdown kit and would have a hellava time setting one up and getting an accurate reading. Take no offense sweetshee, nothing personal. He's sayin its white smoke coming out one pipe. If he was burning tranny oil, he should be puffin white smoke out of both pipes. He's sayin that his oil level went down, but didnt say how much. His oil level could have went down because he had the bottom end complety apart, so he had the clutch apart.... and like the clymers manual says, your supposed to add a tad more oil whenever you split the cases..... maybe thats why his oil level was low. Here's what I think. Test for tranny oil\seal leak by gauging how much tranny oil you lose. Fill up the transmission oil. Take your oil dipstick and place it in the oil fill hole BUT dont' screw the dipstick in, just place it in the hole. This is how you are supposed to check the oil level. You'll notice the marks on the bottom of your oil dipstick telling if your level is hi or low. Fill the oil level so it reaches up to the top mark on the dipstick. Screw the dipstick in and go for a ride. Keep the exact amount of time you put on the engine. Try to ride for 2 hours. Now check your oil level and report back with how many hours your engine was running and how much the oil level dropped. If the engine starts revving on ya, kill the motor right away. Did you put all your reed cage gaskets on ? reed cage bolts tight ? Carb caps screwed on tight ? Did you have your head shaved ?? I know I asked you that before, but I don't think I ever got an answer.
