  2. we're gonna have a horseshoe pit at camp coalfest. bring your best game cause me and rustyrider04 pitch one hellava game of horseshoes.
  3. wow thats crazy. collapsed lung sound gross and painful. Get some rest and keep poppin' the pills. On the brighter side, you got a good story to tell, and you should develope some nice scars. I went over the handlebars once and had a cartwheeling atv fly past me, it was one wreck I'll never forget. Wreckin' really makes ya feel alive doesnt it
  4. Quick report on the race, Bill Ballance took 1st place, Matt Smiley came in 2nd and James Wahl took 3rd. Wahl's first time on the podium. Chris Borich blew his engine and had to get towed back. Local favorite Traci Cecco snapped a chain and didnt have a good race. The weather was hot and humid and the track was dry and dusty, very little mud, we did see alot of rocks tho. My cousin raced in the Utility Modified class and came in 3rd. I got a ton of pictures i'll post soon.
  5. Its 5am, i just got home from working on the quad all night. Been out there since midnight Im pretty tired. good news is, I got the whole top end, intake and half the exhaust system put back together. Bad news is, I still dont have any spark. Nyuk Im running an '88's stator, do you think your '87 harness will match the plug on my '88. It would be nice to just plug it in, but if I have to splice it, its no big deal. Im 97.84% sure that my harness is fine. I kinda doubt my coil died. That leaves my CDI as the problem peice. Can a CDI get fried from soldering wires on the harness without uplugging the CDI ??
  6. Craig me and buddy at work had the same thoughts\discussion so it looks like I wont be honing. good to see you around again. bradrs, I just got done with the wiring harness, I replaced 3 butt connectors with solder and I covered ALL my connections with heat shrink. It looks good. There's actually not much to my harness, its only a few wires, but I took the harness off the frame and went over it with a fine tooth comb and that harness is bulletproof now. I found a bare wire near the connector coming off the stator, I fixed it up with some liquid elec tape(neat stuff) and then wrapped it with elec tape and put some loomage over the whole works. reas i just put in 6 hours of work on my banshee, I just got home and its 5am. I'll have it ready and running for June. No doubt. Im waiting on a base gasket right now, once I get the gasket, i'll have the top end re-assembled and then I can concetrate on the wiring problems. But I think I have got the wiring troubles hashed out. My bet is, she'll start right up and run fine. im tired, goin' to bed......
  7. Jim from PassionRE ???? your having it ported I assume, whatcha getting done to it ??
  8. boonman the harness that im using now, is completly homemade. It worked fine all season last year, Im just having problems with some of the connectors I used. Im keeping this harness and im going to solder all my connections where I used butt connectors. I think I have a bad connection where my tether switch ties into the harness. And concernin' the top end. Im putting it back together and im not having it rebuilt. The stuff's in great shape and there're nothing wrong with it, so im going to put everything back together and run it. Hell I had 160\165 PSI in the cylinders. I would cost me around $300 bucks to rebuild it, so why rebuild it when its in near perfect shape. Im glad I took the cylinders off, now I have peice of mind that the pistons are in good condition. I can still see crosshatching on 80% of the sleeves. There is NO carbon buildup in the exhaust tunnels, they're spotless. Im not going to waste a bore size and a good set of pistons for no good reason, so its going back together as soon as I get some base gaskets. Does anyone think I should have the juggs re-honed and put some new rings on the pistons ?? good idea or bad idea ?
  9. Took off my banshees cylinders today, going to put a fresh top end in before the coalfestage happens. me and rustyrider04 took it all apart today, I have the juggs sitting here along side me. They're in really good shape, its ashame to rebuild it, but its all apart now so no turning back. I got stuck out riding in a thunderstorm yesterday and had a really rough day riding, my ground wire broke and it was killing the engine all day long. Now I cant the bastard to spark. Long story, but im looking to buy a wiring harness with a matching cdi box, so if anyone has one for sale, pm me with a price.
  10. Anyone racing or going to the Rausch Creek Gncc this upcoming Saturday ??

  15. Wondering why the Spartan became the first GNCC in a long, long, time to get cancelled? These photos might help illustrated our plight. But dispite the conditions, nearly 600 brave ATV riders attacked mother nature on Saturday, mercilessly riding machines covered in mud over some of the slickest soil known to man. Yet amazingly, plenty of riders claimed they had a good time sliding through the muck. That's the GNCC spirit. Congratulations go out to Kentucky's own mud specialist Jeff Stoess, who took the first overall win of his 15-year GNCC career on his ATK/Cannondale machine. Congrats also to Chad DuVall and Pro Am rider Chris Jenks, who finished up on the podium. And thanks most of all for everyone who braved the conditions to race with us. You made one heck of an effort.

  17. heres a pic for ya stonedbiker....
  18. whatsup everyone, I have'nt been online much lately. Got pretty sick for like 2 weeks and lately iv been busy wrenchin' on the quads. There's exactly 30 days till CoalFest 2004 !! Just wanted to update the thread, me and RR04 have been workin' on the campsite. We've been cutting down small trees, picking up garbage, making firerings, clearing out brush for places to pitch tents, moving rocks, cleanin' up trails, gathering firewood. The camp looks great, there was alot of garbage like beer cans and bottles laying around, and we picked up every little piece of garbage around, the place looks really good. We made a nice central fire ring and we're working on two smaller rings. There's a big giant coal shovel that sits right in the middle of camp, we cleaned out all the broken glass around and inside the shovel. We cut a pile of trees down to clear out the area. We stacked brush piles all around camp so everyone should be able to find enough firewood. We cleared off a trail that runs through camp, so now you can ride right down the center of "basecamp". We're going back out to do some more work, we're planning on making a nice horseshoe pit and we'll have a killer drag strip. There's a big, and I mean BIG canyon 60 yards from camp. Ride over to the edge of the canyon and the base of the canyon is 80 feet down. This is where we'll have the drag strip, so guys can sit on the rim of the canyon and look down at the quads drag racing, great for video taping or taking pictures. 100 feet and 300 feet drags right ??? Minkia mentioned K&N filters.... Ray are you coming ??? K&N filters will be fine, just bring some cleaner and oil and keep em clean, and Outerwear is a good idea. Abyss.... since your not coming.....your not allowed to be posting to this thread anymore Seriously tho... get your ass up here damit, there's going to be a ton of BHQ regulars coming and we need you to show up. Have NYUK kidnap you or something. And what you said about tire plugs is right... everyone bring your share of tire plugs, fix-a-flat, foot pumps, CO2 cartridges etc etc... bring that extra set of tires if ya got em. Dont come here with 18 inch rear tires on. Bring goggles, bring a drink system\camelback, bring skidplates, bring tire repair stuff, bring your own beer and food, bring ice, bring lots O' gas, bring a cell phone, a camera, a GPS and those nifty little walky talkies. NO FIREWORKS AND NO GUNS. Walter\Banshee370. Get yer ass down here. Banchetta will be stoppin by to pick you up. Rumor has it.... BenBB is pickin' up Cotton eye Joe and they're bringin' strippers. SweetShee your too young to see the strippers so you'll have to close your eyes when they're dancin'. And Sweetshee..... are you going to have your Banshee running in 30 days ?? Let me know if I can help ya with your rebuild. Fixitrod. Whats up ? coming ?? Pick up Pointdexter\Spoin on your way. H300. Where exactly in Pa are you from ?? If anyone is near the pittsburg area.... drag FadedDreams out to the big ride. OCShee. Are you coming ???? Get that caster setup and get yer ass down here. Just take 81 south and you'll be here in no time. 03orangeShee. Whats your story ?? Are you bringin' your crew ?? Bring that Tri-Z along. Anyways....................... 30 days and countin'.
  19. maintence\mechanic at Catawissa Lumber. I grease machines, sharpen knives for our chipper, building maintence, fix stuff thats broke'd
  20. Does anyone know where I can buy a custom length stainless steel brake line for my -2 swingarm ? Im lookin' to buy one around 16 - 17 inches long. thanks.....
  21. Razr 2's and Holeshot XCTs are the top XC tires right now, and they're not cheap. You can run any tire that fits on a 9 inch diameter rim. All sport tires are made to fit 9 inch rims, so your choices are endless.
  22. bring that baby to coalfest !!!
  23. led just contact Vitos' or GRR or just about any Banshee performance shop and they'll have the pancake bearing setup mentioned.
  24. The shift star is attached directly to your shift drum, the shift drum lives inside your engine cases, the shift star attaches to the end of the drum and is on the outside of the engine cases. The shift star mates up with your shift linkage. The shift star is star shaped. The "arms" of the shift star are long and pointy in stock form, the modification is done by grinding down these arms on the star, you grind em down and and round em off. Here's a picture of a shift star that I did.... Yes you can do it yourself. You'll have to remove the clutch basket tho. You shouldnt use a bench grinder to grind down the star's lobes, the best tool for the job is a floor mounted belt sander. Grind the lobes down till they look like the picture I posted. Measure everything with a micrometer so all the arms are identical. I could have went a c**t-hair lower with that star in the picture, but... I didnt. The shift star mod is a two part deal, the first part being the "arm grinding" I just explained and the other mod is "backcutting neutral". You'll need a milling machine to properly backcut neutral, thats where Boonman comes in. He can grind your lobes for ya and backcut neutral for a good price. You dont have to have the backcut neutral, but its nice and since you have the star off the engine you might as well get it cut. YES, its worth the trouble. Throw on a new clutch cable and one of those "ez pull" clutch levers and you'll have entirely different shifting machine. Like butta
  25. no silicone !!!! even with the proper base gasket, dont add any silicone to it. Do it right or dont do it at all.
