  1. You can either buy a modded star or make your own. In the picture above, notice how the teeth on the shift star are pointed. Fire up the bench grinder and round them off so that there isn't a point to them anymore. Also on the shift shaft, notice the blue marker in the picture. You will need a dremel and a grinding wheel. Grind out the area marked in blue. That will enable your shift shaft to go deeper into the eccentric screw. That will help you shift by letting your shift shaft throw your star a little farther. I grinded the top and bottom of my shift shaft so that it helped on down shifting as well, some people do, some people don't. If those mods don't work for you, then its time for a duneable override. As far as replacing your clutch basket, check out www.farmandsandtoys.com He's got the best price on billet baskets I've ever been able to find.
  2. Try the 13/41 with the new tires.
  3. For $250, snatch it up and we will help you diagnose the problem and get you back up and running. Sounds like a great deal to me!
  4. Go with the +2s and get you some 4:1 offset wheels. That will only make you about two inches wider than stock and give you good handling characteristics. I'm sure Tim would make you a set of arms for the 450 shocks. The newer 450r shocks would be the way to go in my opinion. They are a little bit longer than the 04-08 shocks, so be sure to let Tim know which ones you end up with. As long as you get the 450 shocks that have compression, preload and rebound adjustment you should be good to go.
  5. Money sent, thanks Ryan! Ryan
  6. Take the key off and wire the two wires together. Then take your on/off/light switch off. There is a plug that will help you do that. You will either need to cut the plug off the on/off switch and wire your tether to it, or cut all of that shit out of there and wire your tether directly to it closer to the cdi. Depends on if you want to run lights or the possibility of putting all the stock stuff back on.

What did you not like about the Wickeds? I thought it was a hands down decision between the two! Wickeds for the win!
  8. Your way off on the jetting! I'm trying to get a set of 28s dialed in right now for a buddy. Hes got t5s, k&ns, and some sort of port job. Right now hes at 155 mains, and 48 pilots. I can't help you out on the needle just yet, we haven't made it that far.

I've had both. The Wickeds are better because of the ball joints. Other than that, they are both good arms.
  10. Smells like lube in here.
  11. Where are you located? Also, I disagree with the t5s. I don't think they are a very good trail pipe. As far as a port job goes, your going to get well into your budget if you go that route. Your motor will be screaming fast, but your suspension will blow! I say do the bolt on mods this go around and spend some cash on suspension. Next time you could send your cylinders out for a port job.
  12. I put a rear naked choke on my laptop until it complies with my demands.
  13. Haha, NYUK must have pegged him, aint seen him around in a bit.
  14. Well in that case, a set of pipes should be #1 on your list! FMF Fattys or Pro Circuit Platinums would make good trail pipes and still carry some good topend. Look for a nice used set and save some cash on these! Then: Cool head, dome size will depend on your elevation. (whats your elevation?) Timing plate. Bump up the timing to +4 or so. A good filter and take the lid off of your air box. Tors eliminator kit. This won't really aid in performance, but it is cheap insurance against future problems. Those mods alone will make a whole new beast out of your ride. I would spend the rest of your money on suspension upgrades. Elka or TCS are the only way to go in my opinion. Look into some +2+1 A arms. Wicked makes some really nice arms that will run you about $400. Next would be a good set of tires. Any questions, just ask! Post pictures of your build as you go!
  15. If I were going to build a hard running trail machine, I would go with a 4mil mx/trail port. Keep in mind if you decide to go that route, you will be spending $2000 + for all the correct componets. Then you will need to upgrade the suspension. Thats going to run you $2000+ for a nice set of Elkas and A arms. Why don't you tell us how much you want to spend, then we can guide you in the most cost effective way possible! Way too many variables!!
  16. YFZ shocks on +2+1 Wickeds with Trail Techs.
  17. X2. I was kinda surprised to see MPH instead of RPM.
  18. Actually I think the Laeger LT arms call for 16 1/4 shocks. Send them an email to be sure though. I'm pretty sure there was a company offering banshee arms made for the stock yfz shocks. Someone will know and chime in. Check with Fireball racing, they are a site sponsor, maybe they offer them?
  19. I love riding a -1. Its not the best choice for hillclimbing though!
  20. Are you sure you got those airstrykers jettted in correctly? They are a real pain in the ass to jet properly. Even though, I would think that those numbers would be higher even with your jetting off. Is it ported at all? Are you sure your getting the correct electricity? Are you running a lockout? Those PT's are for sure holding you back.
  21. I know that probably didn't make sense. The yfz shocks I had were given to me = freebies. Also, the yfz shocks tore the shit out of my dust boots on my ball joints. The yfz shocks are too long and put a ton of stress on the ball joints. So bottom line, the yfz shocks are ok if you can pick them up cheap and don't mind replacing ball joints. Other wise take your time and search for some good used shocks made for the bike.
  22. I'm running CEL's in my 39s on a 10mil cub.
  23. Save up your money a bit more and buy Elkas made for the banshee. If your patient you can find them used for a decent price. I searched Craigslist for a few months before I found my set. I picked up a set of Stage 3 piggy back Elkas that were dam near new for $600 bucks. I sold the yfz shocks I had on my bike for $250, so in the end I picked up a sweet ass pair of Elkas for $350!
