  1. You are going to need an impact to get the clutch basket off. Do not stick anything through the fingers on the clutch basket unless you plan on buying a new one!
  2. Be careful and take it slow. Also, make sure you don't grind any of the sleeve away or it will have to be re-chamfered.
  3. One of the first things that started squeaking on mine was the top rear shock bushing. Kind of hard to get to with the airbox on.........
  4. I always use blue Locktite on that phillips screw that holds the shift star on. I had a friend that the screw came out, not a good deal.
  5. I originally had a smaller hole, but couldn't get a wrench and socket in at the same time. Now I have plenty of room, and the oil level is below the hole so when you open it up it doesn't pour out.
  6. I flipped over there and it's Outdoor Outakes. I wish I had a guide for OLN, they have some cool stuff on but I usually miss it.
  7. The stock plastic insert has a rubber piece in it that seals great. Mine has been this way since 1989, no leaks at all.
  8. Here you go:
  9. Looks like I should be showing up the evening of the 7th for Easter weekend
  10. Usually not, but it doesn't hurt to do a plug check.
  11. Like this: I bored mine out on a vertical mill, but have also done several with a 1 1/2" hole saw. Works great.
  12. Rear sprocket hubs on the 87-88 only had 4 bolts, newer models upgraded to 6 bolts. The front sprockets all fit the same.
  13. '89 Banshee's had orange fenders, and gray tank plastic.
  14. You really need to post some pics of all the parts you make/sell. There are many of us that would probably become customers.............
  15. Take it off !! You also get to remove a cable, some extra loops from your swingarm, and then put on a nice clean looking clutch lever.
  16. 1987 & 1988 came stock with 13/42, ever since 1989 it has been 14/41
  17. Looks like I'll be heading over on the evening of the 7th. Here is my old '88. I missed everyone on Spring Break, maybe we can hook up for Easter.
  18. I do now, for years I used Castrol 2 stroke oil, but couldn't find it anymore.
  19. It sounds like you have the same type of locknut. I put mine together and had zero problems until I took it apart, and now that it's back together it keeps coming loose.
  20. I like the 20" better for all around riding because it's not as tall. The 22" tires balloon up and make it harder to fling the rear end around without bicycling.
  21. I took mine off last year, rode a day at the dunes, and then put it back on. I could tell the difference, and my Banshee runs better with it.
  22. Congratulations! Girls are easy to raise, now you have a real challenge.
  23. 32:1 is plenty of oil, I wouldn't run your Banshee any richer than that. I have been using that mixture for almost 16 years now in my Banshee and no oil related problems at all, and my Banshee isn't ridden easy.
