  1. You ought to keep the bike and save up some money for a Shee, then you'll have the best of both worlds. A quad and a bike, 2 and 4 strokes.
  2. And if I crapped money I'd probably have all three of my quads insured. I carry full coverage on two vehicles, health ins, and yes, home owners insurance. I pay over 4 thousand dollars a year on coverages..... but my quads aren't in a garage connected to the house. I don't know if it would cover them or not, but I do know that the total payout for it wouldn't cover what I have in them with interest. My point is I pay so much out in insurance that I can't afford to take out any more policies. I'm also still paying on the quads. Now I'm not trying to get pissy, but explaining why I'm not a "dumb ass"..... just broke. Your right about it's better to have something than nothing, but everything has gone up since I started paying on them and I simply can't afford more coverages.
  3. Sorry to hear about your bike getting stolen, man. I hope the thieves get caught and you get it back. I worry about the same thing with mine. I have all kinds of security on my quads but I still worry about brazen crooks like that that will seemingly steal anything, anywhere, in broad daylight. I don't have insurance on mine either, but like daj says even if you do that doesn't cover everything you might have in it. I bought my Shee new for several reasons, and even though I know that there's alot of good used ones out there for sale insurance couldn't replace what I have because they don't sell new ones anymore. (well, that I could ever get here in the states anyway) Keep asking around and maybe someone might have seen or know something to give you a lead to go on.
  4. My Nephew got a set of those off e-bay a few months ago for 130 bucks I think it was. We did a little grinding and shaped them and the brackets to fit his 660, he said it was a great improvement over his stockers.
  5. Maybe you could look into a set of Works shocks, from what I understand they offer some pretty decent shocks at a reasonable price.
  6. Did you guys have a good time this past weekend? I was wanting to go up there but I took my wife out to dinner and a show in Kissimmee for her birthday and really couldn't afford the trip. (gas for the Shee and suv/trailer plus permit) Ended up doing a little riding close to my house on Monday.
  7. Hahah they were both busted!
  8. lol, good one!
  9. My Nephew has an '01, he bought it used and the guy that sold it to him said that it had had the transmission upgrade done. We put a Yoshi full exhaust on it recently and it does pretty well.
  10. Yeah the gas cap hose shouldn't be attached to anything on the other end, it's just to let air into the gas tank so the fuel can flow down into the carbs.
  11. If you get an '08 Raptor they have the upgraded piggyback front shocks. I have the same shocks on my '07 GYTR, and they work awesome. As far as torque, the Raptor has plenty of it.... you can even be pulling a gear high through the trails on it and punch the throttle and get the front-end up over an obstacle! One of the nicest things I also like about mine is the fuel injection.... no messing with a choke, just bump the starter and it fires right up and idles perfectly. Trail riding is why I got mine, and it fills the bill nicely. I think you'll really like a Raptor for the types of riding that your describing.
  12. My wifes birthday is this weekend, so I'm taking her out to dinner Saturday. I'm going to try and make it out to Croom for some riding Sunday. (to be honest I don't know if I'll have enough money for the trip after tommorrow, though)
  13. VERY NICE, man that motor is blinging too! He's got some money in that.....
  14. Sounds like a fun place to ride. I've been to Okeechobee a few times, but it was to a dealership down there and it's a pretty good ways from my house also. That's where I bought my Banshee, they have some of the best deals on atv's and bikes in the state there.
  15. It's true though..... once you get those pipes and filter on your mind will start wandering to "well, pipes and K&N made that big a difference, I wonder what would happen if I installed this?" Or "one of those would look awesome on it." Next thing you know you'll have a hefty balance on your credit card! lol And nice Banshee, man. Have fun riding it.
  16. The powerband is the range of rpms when the motor is making and transferring the most power in the curve. A Banshee has a very narrow powerband and comes on all at once. You definitely know when it kicks in! Maybe someone else can explain it a little better than me.
  17. Are you talking about a set of EZ outs? At work we use these like you described.... drill a hole in the broken bolt and then insert a special reverse threaded tap and unscrew the bolt. Works pretty good. Craftsman may have a different name for them.
  18. Yes, I'd like to know also. What part of Florida is it in? It's always good to hear of new places to ride.
  19. Are you talking about the whole pipes or right where they are coming out of the motor? The bluing can be removed with very fine steel wool and polish. I did this to mine and then sprayed high temp paint on the inside and it worked pretty good.
  20. I copied this off one from RMATV, is this it?
  21. Well I'm glad you found the problem.... I did something similar one time. I usually slide a sandwich bag over my snorkel when washing it and forgot to remove it. It didn't keep it from running because I have an outerwears lid, but I didn't discover it for a couple of days.
  22. I've only been riding in Big Scrub once, but from what I could tell yes. I've been to Croom a number of times (thats Croom in my sig pic, sand pit area) and they have alot of different places out there. Ranging from sand pit, mud, trails and climbing areas.... Kind of like clay pits dug out that once you go down in them you have to hillclimb to get out! Very cool place, but like 375hp banshees said there are whoops everywhere.
  23. Man I hate to hear that happened to you, yeah theres alot of that going on these days. I live in a bad neighborhood and have all kinds of security on my stuff, but still I worry.....
  24. I thought for a minute I was having deja-vu! lol. I just went out and snapped a couple more pics of it from different angles, hope this helps ya out. Don't mind the date on the pics, I just changed the battery's and haven't reset the date.
  25. I've seen what your talking about before, but to be honest I have no idea where they sell them. The place where I bought my trailer from had all kinds of acceseries for them though, and probably had those too. If you have any local trailer making business' in your area they may have what your looking for.
