Here's my back-up ride, (the white one) now if I can ever get it paid off I'll be set!
The date on the pic isn't right, it was taken a couple months ago.
No, that was just a hoax. Dirtwheels magazine did an April fools article in their mag awhile back about that and photo-shopped a picture of "the new Banshee". That's how the rumor got started, but there aren't really any in production.
Call me nostalgic but I always liked the original '87 red and white. I agree with you on the black '06 SE with the purple flames, I was wanting one of those when I got mine, but they only had one Shee left at the time and it was the standard blue/silver. Don't get me wrong though, I'm crazy about mine.
I don't know if it's the end of them or not, but yeah, if it is then I hate to see them go. One good thing though is since there were so many in production for so long we should have parts readily available for years to come.
Yeah your right, it was a funny picture! Dudes ex girlfriend gave me that pic.... the really funny thing was she is about a buck twenty and they used to put me in mind of the couple on "The Honeymooners" :woot: :yelrotflmao:
I like the second link decals as well, I think they will look good on your bike.
The first link looks good also, more of a factory type look to them.
Whichever one you choose, either way it will look sharp I think.
I MIGHT get a couple on mine, but a tank sure goes by fast. My fuel injected Raptor goes around three to three and a half hours before the fuel light comes on. Now that's estimates on each one, I don't have meters on them and never really timed them out..... but a tank seems to go a whole lot further on the 700.
Welcome to HQ, Dan. I would do a compression check on the engine. Also take a look at the cases on it and make sure there are no cracks in it from the chain breaking and hitting it. And check the air filter for what kind of shape it's in. Someone who doesn't clean and oil their filter regularly may be a sign of near future engine problems. Also check the bearings and sprockets for wear. And if possible, get them to let you ride it first to see how well it runs/idles. Someone else may have more suggestions.
I know what you mean about high priced used Shee's..... they are very expensive around where I live. I saw one in a cycle trader today, a '94 that they wanted 3500 for.
I may be wrong but I think that is just for the Factory-4 four-stroke applications. I checked around on FMF's sight and didn't see that in their 2-stroke pipe accessories.http://www.fmfracing.com/products/catalog.aspx?CategoryID=94
I appreciate the replys, guys. I think I'm going to go ahead and order them and give them a try. Hopefully they'll work alright on the Fatty's, if not I can always use the clamps with the stock radiator hose pieces that I have.
Thanks again,
-Jamie
Yeah that was one of the first things I noticed when I got mine. It has the worst gas milage of any atv I've ever had....... however, definitely worth the extra cost of gas, though!
Hey guys, tomorrow I'm ordering a chrome Cascade rear brake lever from RMATV. It's under the hundred dollar mark so I'm looking at some Cascade pipe clamps for my Fatty's to add with the order to save shipping.
I just wanted to make sure that they were good clamps that seal well, does anybody on here use them with the Fatty pipes?
As it stands I'm currently using the stock rubber hose things and the clamps on them don't tighten down all the way on one side of each pipe, which causes drops of gas to fall on the clutch cover every now and then. I'd rather add some bling than put regular hose clamps on it.
That is kind of odd that the back ones are wearing out with no wear on the fronts. Usually a worn sprocket indicates a worn chain. I normally replace all three at once as a new matching set. But that doesn't explain why one of yours is wearing and not the other.
Maybe you could try a stock Yamaha rear sprocket, they hold up pretty well.
