  1. I'm starting to think the motor may have back fired out the intake side, up through the bottle and back down to the case, causing that huge crack.
  2. I would stick to either a Noss Machine style head or a Chariot head. I've had my Noss head for 6 yrs and I've popped it off and on probably 20 times in that span, with no issues at all. I'm going to buy a Chariot soon, just because I like the looks of it and hear it's a quality product aswell.
  3. 1. Will there be a noticeable increase in fuel consumption? I am already close to the edge of my range when I make my usual round trip from Egin to Choke Cherry and back. I don't think that will change much at all. 2. Will the cub's power not be dunner friendly? (all top end, no mid)IMO not nearly as friendly as your engine now 3. Will I sacrifice any reliability, or increase the amount of time spent tuning or wrenching? It shouldn't be any less reliable then what you have now 4. Will I have a hard time shifting with my stock tranny? You may have some issues in the high RPM's 5. Will the power make me forget all these questions?Do black people like fried chicken?
  4. Those are there to pressurize the boost bottle...1 for each cyl. Trinity Racing used to do that back in the day, when they still had a good name. Honestly, I'd throw some dice caps or something on them stems, you really don't that air to escape.
  5. Lol. HJR sells them too, thats where I got my mine. I love my Sling Shot, it's one hell of a clutch plate pusher together device.
  6. I know it was a mistake dip shit, thats why I threw a smilely on the end of my question asking you "are you sure??" You're the "lady" that got your feeling's hurt about it too.
  7. If he pulls the clutch cover, he's not going to find the flwheel behind it. No joke, just a little clarification, thats all
  8. Yeah there ya go, a lock-in. I can definetly see why you would call it that, because thats exactly whats it's doing, locking in the plates. I would definitely rather refer to them as lock-ins as opposed to lock-outs. I prefer to call them a lock-up though. lock-up: locks up the clutch plates, ok lock-in: locks in the clutch plates, ok lock-out: locks out the clutch plates??, wtf. Guys, I was just havin some fun with this thread.. I know what a lock-up is.. To me, it just sounds funny to call it a "lock-out". I think it's supposed to be called a lock-up, but call it what you want, I think we all know that we're talking about the same thing. btw I run a Sling Shot lock-out on my bike
  9. It's late, I'm bored and I'm fuckin wasted, but I'd like to know why 90% of our members like to refer to them as "lockouts" Can someone explain to me what is actually being locked out? Please discuss while I go tighten my chain.
  10. It could also be a timing issue. I had a very similar issue when my flwheel came loose once on me. Backfiring, popping, shootin flames. It will do all of that if it's way out of time.
  11. I picked up a little 3 LED light from vatozone for about $7 and used a small strip of velcro to mount it to my cdi. It's a real small housing. You can hardly see it mounted, but it's bright and legal at night. Stay away from the after market stators. Keep the factory one.
  12. Nah didn't get a chance to make it out. Definetly try to make next time.
  13. Maybe because there's an air leak.... Check your manifold and your ummm, boost bottle connects, if you have one.
  14. OEM or Ricky Stator? What did you use to take the flywheel off in the first place? Are you able to indicate it, to see how much it runs out now? From what I've seen, flywheels generally don't run dead nuts true, but if they run out too much, they can shear the end of the crank off.
  15. Velocity vanes..hmmm, makes sense to me..... I'm surprised they haven't patented that design. Or maybe they have? None of the coolhead/dome manufacturers produce anything like that, that I'm aware of.
  16. This time of year your going to want to head up north. Some pretty good trail riding up on the Rim, between Payson and Flagstaff. The Cinders just out side of Flagstaff, is where all the "valley" duners ride during the summer months. We run paddles up there too
  17. Probably need to rejet. Might get more info here ---->Gaylittlequads.com
  18. Nice machine work. Whats with the grooves in the band? I've never seen that... Does it help resist deto? or increase squish velocity? Very interesting.
  19. I painted my rears on my Banshee over a year and a half ago and they're still holding up great. I orginally just painted them for a quick fix because I had a trip planned and didn't have time to get them powdered. As mentioned above, scotch brite, wash & dry, 2 or 3 coats primer, 4 or 5 coats paint. Give it a shot, it's almost free.
  20. Yeah it's pretty fun. I'll probably be out there with some buddies.
  21. I just ground down the waffle area flush.. I didn't see the need for the big hole.
  22. Stator sold. $50 shipped for the flywheel.
