  1. Well I figured it out. For some reason I put both of the big washers on against the case instead of putting one on the case, then the clutch basket, then the other washer. Were up and runnin now. Made possible by bud light
  2. I was gonna try to just disconnect the cable all together. This thing is driving me crazy. And its not even my bike. I'm doing this for a friend so he can go on a riding trip with us next weekend.
  3. Yes it moves out about a quarter inch. But I can't get the arrows to line up for the life of me. I've had several people on bhq explain it to me but it just does not want to cooperate. I got a full day to mess with it tomorrow.
  4. Alright had the welded ball issue. Got all the parts plus a pancake bearing and shifter star mod. Put everything together, got a whole handfull of clutch, pressure plate is engaging and disengaging (moving in and out with hand lever atleast) so I put it all back together and put oil in it and fire it up, pull in the clutch, kick it in gear and she takes off. The only problem is the clutch is pulled in. WTF. Anybody have any ideas what the problem is? I'm gonna check and make sure none of the clutch plates and discs are stuck tovrther but I'm 90% sure they're all good. I'm about 98% sure they are all good. I'm pretty sure I checked one night when I had a little too much to drink.
  5. I'm havin a hell of a time getting the arrows to line up. I must be doing somethin wrong. I'm givin up for tonight. Anymore advice/instructions would be great. Not gonna lie, I already put it back together with the arrows not lining up. Losing patience big time. If I get some great advice, ill take it back apart if not I'm gonna tell my buddy good luck..
  6. Do I torque down the pressure plate bolts THEN adjust the actuator arm? Should I have the hand lever adjuster adjusted all the way in or all the way out when doing this? This is where I'm at so far↓ http://s1047.photobucket.com/user/jeramie_licklider/media/20130430_231528.jpg.html
  7. Alright finally got it out. Drilled it out and tapped in a torx bit and put a ratchet on it. Now, to try to find a new screw today.....
  8. In the middle of doing a pancake bearing install and decided to do the shifter star mod. The screw is stripped to shit. Cant really get a dremel in there to put a notch in it for a flathead. Any ideas where I should go from here
  9. The original actuator seems to be intact. Man I'm havin a hell of a time with this though. I got the actuator in, put the rod and ball in, now I'm confused again. So does the clutch basket go on, then the pancake bearing or what? I'm very mechanically inclined but I don't have the book for this bike to see any schematics.
  10. After further inspection, I stuck a magnet down in the actuator hole and came out with a chunk of metal abou a qharter inch wide and an eighth inch long. I believe it may be part of the push rod? Maybe it mushroomed then broke off?
  11. Cleaned, greased, no luck. It don't want to go in at all. Is there a certain position it needs to be in to slide in correctly (engaged or disengaged position)?
  12. You can't install the arm first? I haven't put anything back together yet. I gotta order a new ball and rod
  13. Ok thanks. Thats what I thought. Should the clutch actuator arm go in nice and easy or is it a pain in the ass? Its not wantin to go in for me.
  14. Doing a pancake bearing install on a buddies bike. Do you have to re-use the original rods? All it came with was like a 3 inch threaded rod and the bearing and the part that pushes the clutch basket. This is very confusing and it didn't come with any kind of instructions. I know this is a common mod so someone can probably give me some instructions. I included a link to show exactly what I got. http://s1047.photobucket.com/user/jeramie_licklider/media/20130430_144759.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0
