Nice, man, the 450s are nice bikes. I ride my buddies when we go trail riding in the mountains and it is way easier in that type of terrain that the shee. Damn things are like tractors down low, plus they run really nice up top too. Too bad about the banshee. You going to fix it or part it. Glamis is sick isn't it
-
Sounds like you probably did ok then. As long as it wasn't forced on.

Rubberneck you dirty dog!congrats bro!

Skinny too, how the hell is a fat boy supposed to compete. LOL -
Wow, that is a huge main jet. Im not sure about the pt pipes, but with t5s, k&n pods sea level, i run 320-340 depending on temp. At 3500 ft i think i would be in the range of 300-320. Have you done a leak down test to make sure there are no air leaks?

Nope, 2, gave my other bike to my brother. Now i have a duner and soon a dragger -
Ok, sounds good. Yeah, since i already have a duner bike with suspension and everything, it will be drag only, and i want it friendly for the hill because i cant see myself spending too much time at a track. who knows. They are opening a track about 90min from me. So a +10 or 12 (link or no link??) and some +3.5 arms. I also need to get a drag axle and carrier and shocks. What do you guys like, marvins? i think i will be on my way
-
there is no thermostat so it usually will not go down like a car after first fire up. Pull the cap, fire the bike and look to see if the coolant is moving around. You didnt have to force the clutch cover back on did you? If you did, you may have broken the nylon drive gear on the impelar.

is it hard to change shifter shaft seal
rubberneck replied to mignumspeed's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Not hard to do the seal, however if your shift shaft is badly grooved, it may only be a bandaid or temp at best. My brothers bike leaked when i got it put a seal in but it only slowed it down. pulled the clutch cover and put in new shift shaft and seal and life was good. -
For sure. I will be hitting you up looking to buy some parts. How long of an arm do you think i should go with. I will be running a 421 and i am 220lb dressed. Was thinking +10. The bike is on gas for now, but thinking about drag porting and meth. What about a-arms. You guys like stock width or narrowed, and how much forward. I am going to have to start reading up on all the drag racing stuff now. I am hoping to go to dumont this year between christmass and newyears. Other than that, i will probably only be going to pismo. I really want to do a glamis trip before end of year, it just depends on work and wife.

Stellar +6 Swingarm, Chain, Brake Line

Is the drag axle and carrier and hubs sold? Hit me with a PM -
Yes, as stated, soak the clutch plates with the fiber facings. The steels require no soaking. With your mods I would run 3 stock springs and 3 HD springs (alternate them)
-
you need to soak the fibers in the oil you intend to run for a minimum of 20minutes. I usually throw them in some oil when i start taking the bike apart, and by the time im ready for them they have been in there long enough. I wouldn't slip it, I would just ride it easy for a little while to give everything a chance to seat in. change your oil relatively soon after the new clutch goes in, it may look a little dirty, its just random fibers from the new clutch. i usually change after a day or 2 of riding the first time.

anyone have some pics of asr arms installed?
rubberneck replied to bansheejoel's topic in Suspension
Fireball makes their swingers and steering stems, and maybe a few other things, but fireball does not make their a-arms. At least not as of last year. this came straight from the owner of fireball. -
I dont know anything about asr pipes, but with k&n pods, T5s at sea level, i run 320-340 mains depending on temp and stock pilots (25) When you go way up on the main, you will probably find you need to drop the needle a clip or 2 and posibbly drop to a 27.5 pilot.

Damn, you should have ridden it. Whats the worst that could have happened, you blow it up. Then it would fit in with everything else in my garage right now. LOL When you called, i was kind of like in shock. I figured you were screwing with me, then you put lowbuck on the phone. When i got home and saw the HQ, I knew it was real. I am supposed to meet up with JB this saturday to pick up the bike, im stoked. Im hoping to do a pismo trip in the not too distant future. YOu guys have anything planned? I hope to get my Cub back together in the next few weeks. Not sure which one yet, but one of my bikes is getting stretched and stripped to a minimum. I think i want to get into the drag racing, you guys look like you have too much fun.
-
Holy crap, how did you carry enough fuel to do that. That would take me about 16-18 gallons on my bike
-
Just a couple of things come to mind. If you painted the frame, you may not be getting a good ground from motor to frame. If it is indeed carbeurator, perhaps you have a sticking float allowing bike to flood. Pull carbs apart and clean thoroughly
-
Ive never run PJ's, but i think the jetting is similar to PWKs. What needles are in them? I think most guys run CEL needles with about 150-165 mains, somewhere around a 45-50 pilot. Im sure somebody with some more 1st hand experience will chime in

You better bring an army and lots of ammo LOL -
It wont be home 5 minutes before i go tear up a couple rows in my orchard guaranteed.

Actually, the bike in my sig listed as bolt on bike is now my brothers. I was considering getting a 450 as a duner and stretching out my cub bike. I think i want to get into drag racing. So now, I see a +10 or 12 swinger in the HQ bikes future. Maybe some nice drag a-arms. Gee, I wonder who i could get to build me some nice drag arms. Hey kevin, I just happen to have a nice set of Cub cylinders that need new nikasil. I suppose i could have them drag ported before the new plate job and put em on meth. Hmm, I wonder where i could get it drag ported. Seriously though, thanks for all the work you put in on this baby, I cant wait to tear up some dunes with it. My wife keeps telling me what a dork i am, I haven't stopped smiling since i found out. This is freaking cool.

I am so glad i bought that last round of tickets last week. I am so stoked you guys dont even know. I have been smiling from ear to ear since austin(flyhighprerunner) called me. I never win anything, so you dont know how damn excited i am. I have been joking about winning for a while now, but never expected it. I will be in lowbucks neck of the woods next week, so i cant wait to see it in person. They are openeing a sand drag track less than 90 min from my house, so looks like i am going to be getting into the drag scene now that i have a sick bike with a sick looking frame. I just want to give sincere thanks to lowbuck for all the time and effort he put into this whole thing, and hope that we can do it bigger and better in the future. PS, all you fuckers at glamis, keep your hands off my bike. LOL Whish i was there right now, so i could buy everybody a couple of beers. Thanks again Phil

With a trail/dune port and procircuits, i am thinking you are going to want 33s. My guess is it would be a kick ass motor with 28s. I think 39s are too much for you. I run 39s on my cub and am not sure if I would be better off with 35's
-
Word, i need to know if i am going to need to pick this baby up next week. LOL
