  2. Check your squish. Also you might want to cc the head, maybe they were accidentaly mismarked??? I have never been a fan of octane booster. From what i have read and been told they do nothing to raise octane. From what i have been told they are solvent based products that serve to slow the burn rate of the gasoline down. It can prevent detonation, but can actually hurt performance. I would run race gas or lower compression. Just my .02

  5. Did you replace the clutch when you put it back together? Has it been slipping? Usually water will make it a frothy mess, kind of a coffee color. When my brother destroyed his clutch, it turned the oil a grey color. Just a thought.

  11. I have a 200w ricky stator that has been warrantied several times for various reasons. They are a big fat piece of shit. I use their plate on a stock stator now and it works fine, however I would not spend another dime with them just because of them selling shit. Buy the chariot, he is a site supporter. fuck ricky stator
  12. Taste it..... Just kidding. Man i dont know. I know it kind of monday morning quarterback, but I put a zip tie on the handle whenever i mix fuel. Then there is no guessing. AS SOON as its empty i cut it off so there is no way it can accidentally be refilled and thought to be mixed. If in doubt, id use it to burn ant hills. No sense in toasting a motor

  14. Fair enough. My earlier comments were based on my experience with modded Honda motors. I have a couple of buddies with some serious 250 BASED motors and a trike with a cr500 in it. Honestly if it wasn't for banshees, i wouldn't ride anything but RED. nuff said. :biggrin: They are fast. I know nothing about the kx motors.
  15. LOL, that is a great idea. We should make every asshole at the dunes ride a trike for the first day they are there. The survivors earn the right to stay all the other ass clowns go home or to the hospital. Either way they are not there being dicks and screwing up my vacation.
  16. My post yesterday assumed you didn't have TORS. My bad. Follow akheathons procedure. You need to realize that Just becuase your slides move simultaneously does not mean they are in synch. You need to get them in synch at idle AND make sure they move simultaneously.
  17. I was only trying to pull 150 watts. I carried my stock stator with me at all times also. Only made it through 1 trip without needing it(between 2 bikes) Im done messing with stuff in the dunes. I want to ride not wrench. Im just running 1 75 wat trail tech halogen on my bars now with stock stator. Id rather ride less at night untill I can come up with something reliable to power my lights. I will probably look into getting a stocker rewound and then do a DC conversion for HID's those LED's look interesting. I would love to see a side by side shot at night showing how well they perform compared to say the trail tech scmr16 HIDs.

  19. They are not in synch. If you can see the difference with the naked eye, they are off significantly. Just because the slides are moving together does not mean they are in synch. 1st you must set the idle using a synch gauge. Set both carbs idle screws so they are drawing the same amount of air. Next you must raise the rpm slightly using the cable adjuster at the thumb throttle. Using guage again, adjust cable adjuster at carb cap to get carbs drawing same amount of air once again. Now run the cable adjuster at the thumb throttle back in so you have some play in the thumb throttle, you are done.
  20. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I had 3 of the ricky stator POS stators go out on me in the last 18 months. First time i got it, it had a high rpm miss. Sent it back, worked fine for 1 weekend trip to pismo, then lighting coil went out. Would only power 1 50 watt light for next trip (when it went out) Warrantied once again, and the new one had high rpm miss. Im done with ricky stator. dont have an answer for anybody, just saying, the harwdware is not the only problem they have.
  21. Are you aware that automatic transmissions are FULL of wet clutches. They look exactly like the clutch we use in bikes. Many late model manual transmissions and transfer cases in automotive aplications also use ATF. I dont see viscosity being an issue. I personally have been using honda for the last couple of years, but know a lot of guys that run ATF
  22. Trikes kick ass. Anybody who doesn't know how to ride a trike always says they blow. To each their own. I have 2 banshees and 2 trikes and they will never be sold. But if i had to choose, i would probably keep the trikes.
  23. After looking at the pics, and the description. If everything is done that is stated in the ad, Im thinking he might make my 421 cub look a little silly. 3 wheelers are about 150lbs lighter than a a shee and that think sounds like it has quite a motor in it. Im calling bullshit on your calling bullshit.
