There are also a shit ton of drunks stuck into a tiny area and just clutter the damned place up. At least a KP you can get away from the damned crowds if you like.
Yeah jet kits suck IMO. I get all mine from the local Yamaha shop, they usually have a bunch on hand and they are only around $2 a piece.
EDIT: There is also a website that sells them in singles too but I can't remember it. I think theshee posted the link maybe PM him and ask what the site was.
He's not lying. Its either wide open or stopped with him regardless if its a truck or his banshee!
And if its stopped its probably upside down! LOL take that Jared!
Crankers run all pissed off and are fast but like BigRed said If you can afford to build a cranker, you can afford to build a more reliable big stroker banshee w/o all the cutting and welding on your cases.
Thought I would resurrect this thread so people don't forget! Would love to meet a bunch of people out at KP. I'm in Rock Springs now and can't get enough of KP, great place to ride!
I still like my redneck sawzall.....gets the job done quick but then again if it ain't perfectly straight I can live with it lol......looks don't mean much to me!
Yes, if you do the chop correctly the only mark on them should be the tan ring at the base and it should be white the rest of the way. A ring just a bit darker than that pic that I put up is what you are looking for. Then you know your mains are dialed in for that temp/humidity/elevation. That link that dajogejr put up is where I learned to do plug chops from.
With a new set of plugs?????
Has to be new or completely cleaned up plugs (preferrably new) to see the ring on them.......
Here is a pic of what my chop looked like with NEW plugs, notice the ring. Slight bit lean.....
^^^^^I agree^^^^^^^
You may be getting a lot of fuel on the bottom turning the plugs tan, but on the top end with the mains you might be lean. As long as your not cutting out at WOT then you are probably OK and not lean. But if you want to dial them in real good just do a quick chop, takes 5 minutes if you have a vise and a hacksaw.
You can't dial your jets in without doin a good plug chop. Warm the bike up, put in new plugs, run it WOT 1st thru 6th (or 5th if thats as high as you usually go). Then shut her down and coast to a stop. Pull those plugs and put old ones back in to get back to your truck. Chop the threads off and look for ~2 mm tan ring around the base and then your dialed. Any plug that you keep running will turn tan and even black eventually as long as you are not extremely lean.
Hey PM Jared (BigRed350x) on here and I'm sure he'll give a deal on some heel guards like he said in the second post. He's got a whole stock bike torn apart in a box that he's looking to get rid of some parts off of.
Pics, location, models etc would help!
Hey Jared, I got a line on a 1999 arctic cat powder special 700, big twin. Might have to come up with a project for it sometime  .
Whoa! Hold up there.....Hillary Clinton is president....that was uncalled for ! I suggest you abort this game immediately and delete it because if that happens I will move to Canada.....maybe even Mexico!
I'm with kaos on the rounding it off a bit (although they do look pretty kickass right now)......I'm just thinking about rolling it over on yourself and I've been hit by enough 3 and 4 wheelers with blunt parts i could only imagine if it were that sharp, minor stab wound lol. But if your not breaking something or getting hurt, your not riding hard enough right?
I agree....I paid 3500 for my 03 but I knew for a fact that it only had less than 10 hours on it. If you can go look at it offer him 1800 cash, its amazing the deals you can make with cash in hand. and don't go more than 2000 on it.
As long as your still using a banshee bottom end its still a banshee, like majicmike's cranker. May have been highly modified but it still started out as a banshee and to me always will be. If it started as a banshee and the inspiration was from a banshee I'm good with it being a banshee. plus i'm a little drnk ahahaha....but seriously lol.
Just make the original cut bigger than what you want in the end and then you can get a better look and carve out what you want. I basically followed the second bend from where the mounting bolts are at.
