  1. Yeah, its gonna be a duner for the most part though and the stockers are basically full tread yet so I'll stick with them.
  2. Before: After:
  3. Spend the money and just get a full gasket kit, its a nice thing to have lying around just in case. If the gaskets are still good when you come apart, reuse them. If they start leaking, you have extras lying around and you can just replace them and not have any down time but the time to change them.
  4. Purple powerbands are where its at......I got 2 sets coming so I can beat some built 450's lol. And pull my truck home if I break down.

    Toomey T-5s

I'll trade ya my T5's for the shearer's off of your cub! Then you can just put the stockers from her bike on your cub LOL! J/K man. I'll keep an eye out for some........ (but seriously I would trade LOL)
  6. Damn dude that is nuts! Glad to hear your ok with just some minor injuries. Look at it this way, now you have a project to work on while your healing up!

    Elka's

I was gonna go with the works until I was referred to Washburn on here, the shocks I got were in the same price range as a comparable Works shock and that is why I went with the Elkas.
  8. If I remember correctly they said that they were in the process of implementing the text messaging alerts. Maybe they should have alerted everybody right away, but if the only thing that occured was the shooting and nothing else ever happened, I'm sure somebody would complain too that they locked down the campus for no reason. I guess its kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation to me. My .02
  9. Bomb threats are all to commonplace anymore, its kindof the same deal as locking down the campus because of what they thought was an isolated shooting, you do it a few times and its like boy crying wolf and no one would care like gimmeabeer said. Just because something bad happens on a college campus or in a city does not mean its going to lead to a mass murder.........hindsight is always 20/20 and it is impossible to predict the future.
  10. I am baffled as to why I need such large mains at my altitude but the plugs don't lie....... It may have been colder than that too when I did the chop, weather.com said 50, but it was probably wrong. Maybe I'll try cleanin my carbs again and make damn sure all the sand is out of them, maybe they are still plugged a little and running lean. As long as the chop says I'm good though I won't deny it.
  11. Actually no porting that I know of......I just had the topend all apart and rebuilt it and the porting is all stock. And I'm starting to get a collection of jets already just in case, I've got 270's up to 340's. And yeah they're only 2.60 or so a peice from the ol stealership here.
  12. It sounds like I am doing the chops correctly. I've been reading a lot of the topics on hear and learned a hell of a lot about jetting. I'd never had to deal with it much before as this is my first 2-stroke but I love it. I don't mind wrenchin on them either, gives me some satisfaction knowing it runs right because I did it right. And if it breaks I can't be mad at anyone lol. I'll get some big jets then for 1500 feet and I'll just do a chop while I am there, at least I'll have a vise to hold the plug, all I had was a damned vise grip, PITA. I got sunburnt a few weeks ago out at KP riding with BigRed, then that next week we got a foot of snow. Oh well, we got all summer yet, can't complain about being able to ride in nice weather this early in Wyoming. Thanks for the info!
  13. That is a part from majicmike here on BHQ. PM him and I bet he can give you some ideas on how to build a purge system for your bike and help you locate some parts.
  14. LOL 8200 feet, its low huh. I can't wait to go to my parents place at 1500 feet and feel like it's supercharged hehe. How many sizes should I likely increase when I go down to 1500 feet? 3? I just need a starting point so I don't go rodding around and blow the fugger up again. I thought it was a bit lean, I'll get some more jets today and do another chop. Probably won't be for a while though, supposed to be raining and snowing here for the next week and a half. Stupid spring storms......
  15. I like the one that I got from modquad. Even though it doesn't use the case to reinforce itself I don't think it would break easily. The chain rides close enough to it that I highly doubt it would be able to bunch up in there. The only problem is you cannot run a larger front sprocket unless you grind it out.
  16. Ok I'm running a 300 main with all the mods in my sig, and I did the chop yesterday at about 50*F and about 8200ft. Here is what my plugs look like. Left side Right side I think its dead on or maybe a little lean yet, I'll probably go up to 310's before it warms up more then drop back down. I also did the chop about 1000 feet above where I'll normally be riding at, so its probably a little lean yet? What do you guys think?
  17. Not BigRed's bank!
  18. Its only money, might as well be doing something with it. And like gipperz said, it is much better than pissin it away in the bars, literally. This way its more of an "investment" LOL  Man I can't wait to see all your projects this summer.....
  19. You have to select it to save your sent messages........I always forget when I send something and end up sending it twice.
  20. Ranchers.......haha! I get to work at 9
  21. I agree with theshee on this one, its a boring video. I don't agree with what is going on at all, but I'm not going to sign the petition. It's not gonna make me feel better about it and good luck stopping all of the illegal/inhumane fishing of the world's oceans. That doesn't mean I don't give a shit, I just know that my opinion on that shit will not count in the long run, so no use dwelling on it. You can say that is what is wrong with the world, too many people not caring, like me, and not wanting to take care of the resources. Good luck policing 70% of the world though, there is always going to be illegal fishing everywhere. You can put up the money and people to go ahead and do that. Plus, my life has no dependancy on seafood. GO BEEF! If anyone wants to attack my opinion (like theshee's), go ahead. It's just an opinion and everyone is entitled.
  22. Get yourself a Clymers manual. This is also a good source, it has a few pics too. Some people referenced it in other jetting questions. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html

    Elka's

I got out for a short ride today (it was fucking cold, notice the snow) and the Elkas work fucking awesome. She doesn't dive into the conrners at all anymore and soaks up the bumpy ass prairie good. Didn't have anything to jump on, but it comes down from wheelies a hell of a lot nicer. I can't wait to hit some dunes with these shocks, its gonna be awesome!
  24. The jet kit you get from toomey is for a completely stock bike other than their pipes and filter/airbox mods. You probably need to bump it up to a 320 main or so. Always better to be a tad rich and then do plug chops to get it back down to the optimum jetting. Thats just my guess for you main from what I've read on here, I'm at 7200 feet and a 270 main was rich with the pipes and filter mods on my bike. You just have to play around with it because most bikes are gonna be a little different.
