  1. Asking for issues and ground metal in the motor, those bushing are made to have that idler gear constantly contact it , any washer from a hardware store will wear quick never mind the fact I doubt you'll find something that thin. Oh wait just grind it down
  2. A lot of people bring me there shit to tune. It's almost never a jetting problem. All the little set up shit I do to ensure no problems is always over looked good grounds, plug caps, pickup gap sand frame in rite spots. He might not be getting a good burn because it can't. When a bikes on alky your throwing so much fuel at it all electrical components become a major factor in burn , plug teadings
  3. Could be electrical if it's sputtering and its washing the plug. You should be close enouph to make a clean pull
  4. Not enouph that you can't shift ,that still a bolt on bike. Something isn't adjusted rite.
  5. Should have have done a leakdown before tear down, now your just guessing
  6. I don't worry much about bore size usually. I have motors last years without needing a bore. If you use a compression guage to monitor your ring life and replace as needed it can last s long time. Obviously you need to make sure tune is correct carbs are always clean , and a good ear for problems and you'll be fine. Don't be that guy that thinks it clear itself out if it's not running properly.
  7. Larry it can be cheaper just replacing what's bad but without checking everything on my stand it's hard to say ,if it came outta true all welds need to be cut and start over .
  8. Jar knows his shit , and has a decent engine program
  9. If I was to rebuild it like 3 and change with new rod so but without it I front of me hard to say
  10. It's suppose to have a lil play, use the factory washer , yamaha had a slight clue what they were doing
  11. Mine are drilled to .1225 bits were bought from MSC and I wanna say they were titled reamers
  12. Direct drive or mattoon all the way
  13. Why are you checking your pump then
  14. A symptom would help , what's it doing
  15. Lol, if you go with. Tm carbs your pretty much on your own for set up advise. Not very many run them. And as far as what I think , it's a few posts up
  16. Make sure u check your compression before running pump fuel through that motor
  17. I can't imagin 34 pjs being much diffrent then a pwk , I would run stock carbs over pjs till u get the money . 35s would be the smallest i would buy for that motor 39s are optimal. IMO save up do it once do it rite . 35 pwks used are like 250 if u get the rite deal
  18. Honestly that's an oddball setup for a 421 cub no one has that set up high rpm cyl, low rpm pipes and carbs that arnt big enouph and you better check your comp numbers a few I have ran with 21cc domes were still in race gas trim . If it were me I'd start 55 pilot 180 main and work from there
  19. Def go up at least 2 and one on the pilot
  20. 290-300 mains 27.5 pilots needles 4 th clip start there might need to lean down on a plug chop but should be safe to start tuning
  21. Pressure test, compression test report back don't run it
  22. 340 main , 30 pilot needle 4 th clip
