  1. wow, you guys are really jumping on his case about this. all he did was ask a question and a hes got a point. Im guessing none of you get ass, $hit probably half of you still carry your V card, lol. i'll change mine for yeah bud.
  2. Bikes get emission test in texas?? I know here in PA bikes dont get emission test yet, but i know its coming.
  3. i wait until the cylinders are warm to touch.
  4. ive heard the same thing from a number of people who have meet him.
  5. your still gonna have to pull the stock crank to get it trued and welded.
  6. wow, i give you props bud. I cant say i would have reacted that well if i was in your shoes.
  7. thats pretty much what i was looking for, thanks.
  8. dont i have to buy a pass for each bike and do i need to have it registered here in PA? anything else i should know??
  9. i think these are the closest dunes to me (i live a little north of philly). i would like to maybe go this summer and check it out. what would i need? i have a CRF450R and banshee. do i really gotta have spark arresters and all that stuff? is there a certain time i wanna go? Im just looking into this, me and some friends may take a long weekend trip. i have no title or reg for the banshee and the CRF isnt in my name, but i have title. do i need to have all this stuff? thanks Bill
  10. right around two grand give or take if you do the work yourself. a friend did he crank and top end and it was about that doing it himself.
  11. that Honda will bust your ass! arent you looking at a 400ex???
  12. i have an 04 CRF450 that ive raced in motocross, Arenacross, and some other stuff. plus i ride it in the coal mines all the time and ive never had a problem with it. the TRX's cant be that bad.
  13. a 400ex?? both them suck, just get a 700r or 450.
  14. the 85-86 bikes dont have power valves, the 87s have a 5 bolt intake manifold. the 88 to 92s have a 6 bolt intake manifold. that should help a little with the year. those bikes also had a problem with crank seals blowing out. so you may wanna split the cases. i had an 87 that was ported, piped, and all that great stuff. it was pretty dam fast, but it kinda broke a lot. it always had some kinda of weird problem. mine had 150psi with a shaved head so 120 sounds right. hope this helps.
  15. 28s maybe 30s. they have really small transfers like i said before.
  16. any well build 2 stroke should be able to run wide open all day. it sounds like his bike went lean and put a hole in a piston. could of been jetting, could of been the pet cock, he'll have to figure that out. i use to run my RM125 wide open like that all the time. never blew up from that.
  17. you cant go big with porting on Big bores. i talk to Kevin from HJR on this, the transfers are to small. thats why i didnt use them. i think this thread would do better in the mods section and not the jetting.
  18. im in pa and i sent my jugs out to Kevin and had them back in a little over a week. they probably took 3 days to get there. thats pretty dam good if you ask me. he also emailed me up dates the whole time. their is no better service than that.
  19. I used Kevin Herrs for my porting. they look badass, but i dont have the bike done yet so i dont know how it runs. his customer service is also second to none. he always gets right back to me when i email him. i cant say enough good things about him. i also use FAST for parts and stuff and hes great to deal with also. i read a lot of great things about his porting too.
  20. weird, i just saw one of those driving threw town. their not something you see everyday either. nice truck.
  21. are those C6 wheels?? that car looks bad ass! i gotta give it to the LSX cars, those things are no joke when built up right.
  22. not everyone can fix a car these days. i work on everything and being i work in a wealthy town, i work on a lot BMWs, benz's, and stuff like that and some these things have some F'd up problem that are not a easy fix. cars are harder now to work on than ever. o and yeah 50-60k is pretty much what your gonna make as a tech. if your really good and you've worked for a dealer for 20+ years you can make 80k+.
  23. i went to tech for auto technology. its better to go into the field right after high school, you learn more doing it. you might wanna looking into a different job. its kinda shitty being stuck as an auto mechanic. most i people i know who are mechanics wish they did something else, that includes myself.
  24. i believe that is normal, its just blowing off pressure.
