  1. I would just run pods. I dune ride alot, and maybe ride trails/mx twice a year. So its alot easier just to swap the airbox back on if you know your going to hit some mud/water. I believe they make pods from 4" to 8". 8" are usually for aftermarket carbs. I bought a set from "theshee" for the stock carbs.. and i think those are 6". Some one correct me if im wrong. If you do decide to run pods... dont forget to rejet your bike... more air without the box
  2. And with the stock pet-cock... im sure it delivers enough fuel to the bowls and engine in 6th wide open to reaqd 135... Btw, as someone mentioned earlier... i love that kick starter
  3. Thanks for the info guys, its much appreciated
  4. If i was to go out and purchase a set of either (vf3's or boyesen) which would you prefer/buy? I would like to know also, i was thinking of buying some vitos replacement reeds. But then again, for 50 bucks, im 1/4 of the way to vf3's and will probably buy them later on anyway... Are there any replacement reeds that are comparable to vf3's or boyesen?
  5. Damn you guys, now im going to have to spend more money! :shoothead: Lol But hey, it will be worth it in the end. It wouldnt be right to make everything else new, and still have the stock reeds and cages. Thanks guys
  6. Im getting a dune port by kevin herr, and shoulld have my cylinder back next week sometime. I think my bike wasnt running quite right because some of the reeds dont seem to be sealing properly, that and the lack of compression... Two options, buy replacement reed pedals or buy some vforce 3 reeds. Any input will help, Jamie
  7. Sorry guys, i just bought the seat cover from him ... and his a arms and his pegs... You should have just sold me the whole bike haha EDIT: i pm'ed him like 15 min after he posted this, i just didnt reply to the post
  8. I would do a leak down test. Maybe it isnt sealing well enough from the gear box to the crank. Just a thought, you said the oil was low and when you filled it up, it could have hit that little leaky spot and could be richening up your gas... Its a long shot, but hey, nothing is impossible
  9. I bought the IMS ones from socalinit. Make me an offer on my stock ones. i can get some pics if you want?
  10. Stil got the reeds? They are replacements for the stock reeds right? 2 of mine arent sealing, so i can bolt these on and everything is good??
  11. When you wrecked, were the a arms or shocks affected in anyway? I saw from the pics everything looks pretty good. But saw some rubbing on the inside of the coil spring on one of the shocks.
  12. ^^^ Exactly. Im not saying not to go to pismo because it is a pretty good place to ride. Just be aware that its nothing like Glamis. If you have a chance to go and ride... i would go
  13. The gouges in the cyinder wall look pretty deep from the pics.
  14. The reason i go to pismo is because its about 2 hrs from where i live. Usually go down for a couple days. 2wd at pismo is going to be tough. If you air down and its not choppy and you can pick a good path to where you want to camp, you should be fine. Ive seen people out there in 2wd trucks all the time, but i would drop your bike on the beach before busting ass onto the higher beach.
  15. Savage, i thought i had seen something that you could turn the bed into another set of seats. Pretty sure it was a rhino that i saw it done to. (he also said 4 people, not 5) Just my opinion of rhinos. They are good for messing around on, but to do anything with anything aftermarket parts is just insane. I know some people who have dumped another 6 grand into their rhinos. I dont see the point, but that is my opinion. On the other hand, i have seen some pretty trick ones with paint jobs better than most cars, and sound systems that are kick ass.
  16. After riding at Glamis for the first time this winter, i would say pismo would be the last place i would ride. Pismo compaires to the dunes you ride when your getting out to the bigger dunes at glamis. I would try dumont while it still is colder there. then pismo in the summer since its by the ocean and will be less hot to ride in the summer
  17. If Steve (socalinit) sells me the IMS foot pegs, ill have mine for sale. They are powdercoated black. lemme know
  18. Coolant is for sure getting into the combustion chamber, if your exhaust smells sweet. Most likely your head gasket. I would go through and make sure all your bolts are tight and torqued to specs as well.
  19. na, he just got a clean-up or a trail port... it pulls pretty hard, but i think this will be faster than his... all i need now is a arms
  20. stock is 130, you should be fine. Is everything tight? You might want to do a leak down test. check this thread out... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=leak+down+test
  21. get an account on www.photobucket.com, it takes like 2 minutes. then upload them to the site, and the just copy the image code and post it in the link. You can email me the pics also hockeyman15@gmail.com and i can upload them for you also, and the post em up.
  22. Relax man, take a break from it. I was there also. My compression was 110, at sea level. I took apart the top end and nothing seems to be wrong with it. IM thinking that i had an air leak. I also send the top end out to get ported and bored to the next size, and im replacing all the gaskets and the crank seals... hoping that helps with my problem or eliminates it. I also checked everything you did... reeds, carbs. everything was clean.
