  1. So you did another one with pump gas and got a darker ring? You may need to jet a hair richer, sounds like you're ballpark. I run 160psi@900ft w/ +4 timing on premium, don't have any issues but it is somewhat of a cutoff point for higher octane. I have 360 mains with a ported stock cylinder motor.
  2. If I were you I'd start with around 320's and do a plug chop. Probably fat, but that's good to start with, and if you do some more mods in the future you'll probably find them useful.
  3. Air leaks are bad, mmm K? Sucking in air that is not mixed with fuel/oil causes a lean condition followed by failure.
  4. I went for a ride last year, it was 25 miles and I used 2 gallons. It was so dusty we averaged 12 mph, so as to not dust everyone out.
  5. What is "supptor"? My computer underlines this word in red. That means I fucked up the spelling. Spell-check does not offer a replacement word, that means I fucked up real bad. Honestly don't know what your trying to convey here. Have you changed the plugs?
  6. Where the fuck you from? You type with a lisp, muy cant understand....
  7. Wore out a couple pair over a few years. Saw a podiatrist cause my feet hurt so fucking bad, he told me to lose them. Switched to a non-high heeled boot and all pain is gone. Not a good boot for grating and concrete, IMO. Thanks for callin' me a pussy though, Denny! lol
  8. Are the carbs synched?
  9. These bad boys fuck my feet up. If there is someone here that wears these and KNOWS they take a size 9 I will hook you up with a sweet deal. Have an insulated pair and a non-insulated pair, both in like-new condition. Retail is around $220/pair.
  10. Your shitty compression tester. Cross reference with another one. How many kicks to start it? How are you performing the test? (your not just kicking it once, are you?)
  11. If you log onto gmc.com or gm.com they have you enter your trade-in info and it brings up vehicles that qualify. For trucks, it only has to get 2 mpg better fuel milage. People are bitching that it should be more like 10 mpg, but as it stands it is basically an economy booster. Read somewhere that 53% of the vehicles being bought with this are imports.
  12. Thinking about getting rid of the old girl, looking at a GMC Sierra w/4.8L. Looks like about 9K off sticker (39K) with incentives, but am I the only one that thinks 30K is still too damn much money for a run-of-the-mill pickup? I'd almost hate to buy a brand new truck cause in 6 or 7 years it'll have like 80K on it and the body will be rotting off due to all the salt on the roads from November thru May.
  13. I can handle them going 0-16, but they pickup that no good son-of-a-bitch and I am no longer a fan!
  14. Would have made things interesting in the North this season. I was worried that if he came back so would Madden!
  15. Broken battery cable, positive to starter. :shoothead:
  16. If y'all look at the video responses, you can see Mr. Shumacher racing the panties off of one of those.........
  17. Noticed that myself. I am detecting a bit of psychology being played here...
  18. Automatic. I tried starting it in neutral, and messing around putting pressure on the gear selector while trying to start it. Didn't do anything.
  19. O.K., jumped in yesterday to go to work, CLICK! Thought battery was dead, wasn't. Cleaned starter connections, then replaced starter, CLICK. Checked all fuses relating to starting and searched the net for helpful hints. Tried messing with the gearshift, ect. Anyone have any ideas or have had similar problems? I will call a mechanic tomorrow as everything is closed now. Am going in search of food and strong drink on two-wheels now, but I will check back with you all later!! Thanks for taking the time to read this.
  20. Small hose that connects the two carbs in the middle. Only about 2-3 inches long and it is easy to not see it, so you dont think to reconnect. Could be laying on top of your case.
  21. Sounds like mine....was the stator!
  22. Damn! Sorry to hear that, man. Never quite prepared for that sudden WOT cruise control.
  23. Yes, good and snug with your hand, there should be gold colored locking tabs on the sides of the carbs to keep them from backing off. Spell-check is cool!
  24. 74 clicks b4 the browser will ask you to close the tab. But if you read that, you should know not to open it! I'm just too fucking old for that shit to be funny.
  25. There are phillips head screws located near the bottom side of the bowl. Turn them CCwise and watch the fuel/water come out of the overflow!
