  1. My banshee's Armadillo's do not have that funky bend to miss the shock on the uppers.
  2. XX2 for me. Do you have any uphill runs in the line? This would cause and air bubble that would not let gravity bring fluid to the bottom.
  3. Would you happen to have: kill/light switch tool box tail light
  4. ^^^^ This is what I just had to do to my R. Thought something was "queer" in that the brakes worked great, then put new extended lines on and nothing. Never had such a PITA brake bleed in my life. Clear hose running into a reservoir of your choice with fluid in it. Crack bleeder. Push brake lever and hold. Close bleeder. Repeat this 10-100 times until, at last, you feel pressure at the lever. Then a few more times to really get the desired results.
  5. I recently blew my motor, and the side that ran lean had an air leak at the carb top. I asked everyone and their brother if this could cause a melt down lean condition and the overwhelming answer was NO. Good enough for me. Do you have the "keeper" tabs in place? Do not over-tighten the tops. Just hand tight, no channel locks, and install the keepers. Over -tightening will cause the throttle to stick as well as screw up the carb top seal.
  6. Just wanted to give a shout out to a fellow Yooper! There aren't many of us on here
  7. Try rapping on the bowls with a screwdriver handle
  8. I read the "ignorance or apathy" one years ago, and it still cracks me up. Lots of good ones I haven't heard, too!
  9. Fuck that. This bitch cost me thousands. If it weren't for this site I would have thought I had a heavily modified Banshee after putting pipes and a K&N on it. Found The HQ while looking for jetting information and life's been a little different since then.... Loco, this site is very good with the right mix of folks to keep things in balance, but I had to chuckle upon reading your post. Did you just swing on your own nuts? Kinda?
  10. It'll never start without it!! Bad joke, your kicker gear/assembly, if memory serves.
  11. Already had them bored locally, thanks anyways, Jeff. Actually cleaned up the cylinder with some muriatic, then bought a 4 mil crank and had to get them bored to fit the pistons cause they don't make one for .010"!! The slag ate up the crank bearings. I guess what was really puzzling me is that side was intermittently working correctly at different throttle positions, including idle. I just didn't take it seriously because the thing was so bulletproof. Must have had a blockage of some sort in the jets. I was running 380 mains, 27.5 pilots.
  12. Well, I wasn't riding it at the time so I don't know what it sounded like! Was on my 250 that wasn't running worth shit (turned out to be a plugged gas cap vent), my girlfriend was on the banshee for the first time. She was having trouble keeping it running. Checked the plug on that side and it looked fine, not fouled. Threw my buddy on it as we hit a long stretch of gravel road. I went back to camp to get a spare motorbike, by the time I got there he was calling me to say she was locked up. He then "got it running" again when I showed up. Looked at the plug and it was silver. I should have known something was up with the sporadic smoke out of that sides pipe. I was just so disappointed at the 250 and the fact we were going on a 100 mile ride and I was holding everyone up, looking like a jackass. Checked the carbs, never found any blockage or crud, the only thing weird was the leaking carb top on that side. I remember Dagejr(sp) saying that could fuck a motor up, but no one else seems to agree. Everyone seems to think too much compression and timing for the current gas at the pumps. I thought the other side would have shown some ill effects if that was the case.
  13. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2336150050104901534HbxeQj What do you think would cause this after 2 seasons of riding with no compression loss? The only clue I have is the fire went out in that cylinder a few sporadic times before this happened. I also did a leakdown test before dismantling and found that side's carb top was leaking. Was also told that gas went to shit and it finally caught up with my 160psi +4 timing motor on pump gas. You can still see the crosshatch in the good cylinder and that side never lost a single pound of compression. let's have it!!!
  14. Sounds like your in the ballpark. Doesn't quite make sense your not pulling gears except 6th. Usually it is opposite of that.
  15. That I did not know! Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I am missing a dowel, the cylinder with just one twists back and forth. Trying to think of everything I need before ordering parts ONE LAST TIME!!!!
  16. Thanks guys! Must be utilized on the RZ? Another quick one for y'all; As far as the sleeves(dowels?) over the cylinder studs into the case-- how many should there be? There are 3 on the inside studs, seems like an odd number and the cylinder that has only one is able to slide around a bit when slid over the studs. The other "has a home".
  17. Noticed the plate blocks off the water jackets to the top of the case. Is this non-critical? Thanks!
  18. Like the title states, wondering if anyone is running them on their shees, where to get the stuff, and what the ideal temps to run are. Did a search, didn't find shit.
  19. Definitely save for the porting
  20. Still got the TORS? Pull the shifter side cover and determine the stator is dry?
  21. Got that cold bottle of beer look
  22. It's your TORS. Is your parking brake on ?
  23. As Savage said, try a little more to get them on. Sometimes turning the handlebars is all it takes. If need be, pop the a-arms loose. Could be as your saying, though, with them being built for J-Arm frames, IDK. From experience with other manufacturers, they waste no room and install is often difficult. As far as cleaning the pipes, do as Savage recommended but throw a handful of stainless nuts and/or bolts in with the mix; just make sure you get them all out!!
  24. Possible interest in the head. 1. What size dome (pump gas)? 2. Please post a pic on here, I'm not joining Planet Sand to look at it. Thanks!
  25. I still owe UPS $100 for a duty fee on a mountain bike a couple years ago.... Bastards charged a hundo for shipping, then send me a bill later for another $100 cause they opened the box at the border, fuck that!!
