  2. I would be curious to know if covering the fins with paint affects its cooling capabilities or no.... Seems covering the fins would hold the heat in rather then dissipating it.
  3. They may ned to verify the frame is yours before you start cutting it. Call them and ask, they should be able to tell you what to do.
  4. I had Alba port my stockers about 4 year ago before I knew about this site. They ran, but if I had a choice of who to port them I wouldn't use them again. They are kinda of ignorant when it comes to 2 strokes. Thier "Race Tech" guy was trying to explain to me how there is no such thing as differant types of port work. That there is a right way and a wrong way and thats it. This was about 2 years after I was a member here.
  5. It all depends on where you live. In CA if there is no means of identifying the bike, they can and will take it from you. There were a few guys from Az that went to Glamis to ride and had some VERY flashy rides. As soon as they unloaded them the Sheriffs out there drove over and gave them a hard time and took the ike. Said they thought they might be stolen. They didn't have vins or any type if identification to prove they owned them. Check with your local lw inforcment about what you have to do to get a certificate of title that shows modifications to an offroad vehicle.
  6. Once you get it out don't over tighten it putting it back in. The aluminum threads will strip pretty easy. I just tighten it until it stops, then give it a little bump and call it a day. Never had any issues with it coming out.
  7. a 450r isn't a requirement. You can have a blast and ride on a sand caddy without getting a 450r. Just becasue it's out there doesn't mean you have to have it. Buy a used 450 with a few mods and your in there like swim ware. Oh and my wifes 450 is a quad not a bike. I wouldn't let my wife ride a 450 bike either.
  8. I got my 450 for 4500 brand new out the door. If you can infact build two banshees that are portd and good shocks and all for duning as you claim... please oh please share this knowledge with us all! I hope your wife is a midget cause mine is only 5'2" and 105 and rides the hell out of that 450
  9. I got these I may be interested in trading. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=123709&st=0&p=1071130entry1071130 Post some picts of them up if you would
  10. Agree^^^ All these guys that are saying Banshee probably don't own a 4stroke. I love riding my wife’s 450 in the dunes. You can lug that thing, rip it, jump it, drag it (although it's not very fast when stock). You name it, they can do it. All around generally speaking it is a better bike for multiple uses.
  11. My Wiesco ranged .010 - .013 I set mine at .011 if I recall correctly. I want to say the WSM call for a little looser tolerances but I could be mistaken. The pistons should come with instructions on measureing your gap. It will say so many thousandths per inch of bore.
  12. You have anything that smell similar to Vicks Vapor Rub?
  13. It very well could be a tweaked stud, or even like Shayne said the Cub casting. Either way, it's on there now and I don't plan on changing any domes so no need to swap anything out.
  14. My Chariot was a little more difficult to keep the orings in place becasue I had to tap mine in place. And this caused the prings to come out of the grooves. Once I got it on there, it was fine. For some reason my Noss slipped right down over the studs, while the Chariot needed a tap. Both are great products, either or will be a great choice.

  16. I have used Pro Design, Noss, and Chariot heads. All of them are ok. The Pro Design was a little more of a PITA becasue of the studs. The Noss was a great head. I only swapped it out to try the one peice out. The Chariot was a little more difficult to keep the orings in place even using vasoline, but it looks great once its on.
  17. I got a set of 38mm Mikuni TM Flat Slides setup for Alky and pump by K&T Racing. Comes with Billet bowls and brand new Clippard adjustable Power jets. Right now they have 117 mains and dumps, with 6FJ47 Needle. I have taken them completly apart and cleaned them up. Ran them one time. $500 shipped. If you want to use paypal add fees.
  18. I think they may be talking about how the IMS tanks "seep" and will make paint or stickers peel because they are pores’. That’s what I assume they are talking about. Some say that if you perforate the stickers it will keep the fumes from building up and creating bubbles that will peel. I don't think it will matter but I haven't tried it.
  19. It depends on what kind of oil it is. Some of the synthetics can be taken out to 50:1 Personally I run everything 36:1 Yamalube for gas Klotz SuperTechnoplate for alky
  20. This has got to be one of the funniest line I have read in a while... "I'm not saying grin and bear it if it hurts too bad, or kidnap elementary school kids or dogs to bring home for him or force yourself to eat shit or vote republican or anything just to make him happy"
  21. Stop being a pussy and make your kid kick start it!
  22. Your not going to be able to tell what type of porting just by picts. You need to have specific measurement to determine the type of port work. And one builders play port could be anothers dune port. There is no one single standard.
  23. I had theshee and hs brothe paint my plastcis a few years ago. It looks good. Only prblem is if you allow anything to bump the plastics the paint can crack. They don't rattle can so I can't say how well it will work, but you can have it done with quality adheisves and paints and it will be fine.
  24. Here are a few shots of my candy blue. The weather has sucked here so there isn't alot of sun in the picts other wise you could see the sparkle in the blue alot more.
