Mid range hesitation
LIM_Whiteboy4life replied to LIM_Whiteboy4life's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Its a HJR Dune/play port stock stroke with 19cc domes, currently it has the stock head on it now and went through the entire wiring harness also. I have stock carbs on it now. 330main, 30 pilot, middle clip on the needle, 2 turns on the airscrew, and NO FILTERS (just to test/tune on the street), -

Well i put my stock carbs back on with, 330mains, 30 pilots, and middle clip needle and its STILL doing the same thing. Only thing i can think of now is the motor is toast, and if it is i might as well start tearing it down for the winter. -
new ignition or timing plate?
LIM_Whiteboy4life replied to swepzz's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ive ran a dyna on my bike since 07 and thats when it was just piped, now im ported. Its a good buy, hasnt done me wrong yet. Just keep an eye on the controller... mine fed itself to the rear sprocket one time. I might hit you up on the timing curves snop. I run mine on curve 3 at all times. -

swapped coils, same outcome Leakdown passed with flying colors... not one psi dropped. Tried using 48 pilots with 160 mains... same outcome (needs one notch richer) The whole electrical system passed all the Ohm's test. Reeds are fine If i call somewhere... it wont seem like they want to help me unless i buy something from them so.... yeah. I will try calling anyone but ... this is pretty lame -

Im going to check everything today, even swap coils to see if its that. Currently making a leakdown tester now. -

You can do w/e with the needle... still the same outcome Im thinking its an electrical issue -
No matter what pilots/mains that were on the quad it always hesitates in the middle of the rpm range. Here's what me and a buddy setup, an O2 sensor w/ hand held reader making sure the bike isnt running out of fuel or the jetting is fucked up. Seems to only happen when its pinned in the middle of the rpm range.. i can keep it hesitating if i pin it... get off pin it again to stay at the "dead zone" in the RPM range. I run a DYNA FS cdi with stock everything else on the ignition. We swaped to a stock cdi... same outcome. Im either thinking the coil/wires are shot or something else is seriously wrong... Bike seems to run very well in the bottom and top but the middle is fucked, I tried fuckin with the needle... same outcome Mods include: HJR Dune/play port w/ 19cc domes (180psi) on 110oct, 30mm OKO carbs (w/ pods), Boyseen epoxy reeds on stock cages(didnt check the reeds). and a Dyna cdi. What im looking out of this thread is input and see whats the most common answer and/or someone that had similar issues THANKS!!!

Same here, but i do wonder about placement of the spacers, reed/spacer/boot, or spacer/reed/boot.

1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have? Toomey T5 2) What type of airfilter do you have? K&N Pods w/outerwears 4) What is your elevation? (If you don't know, go here: http://www.topozone.com ) Sea level 5) What size pilot jets are you using? ?? 50 i guess, never looked. 6) What size main jets are you using? 160 7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? 70-90F 8) Do you have a port job? HJR Dune/play 9) What kind of carbs OKO/Keihn(knock off) 10) What size carbs? 30mm Seems about perfect with 2 turns on airscrew, middle clip.

How to repair a stripped tranny-fluid-screw thread
LIM_Whiteboy4life replied to pepehaha's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
IDK what he uses for tranny fluid... might be expensive shit or cheap type F but i would flush with it with some diesel, put the new plug in with fill it with 1/2 gal of diesel and toss your bike around  to slosh it and then drain... -
Im using some home depot hose that barely fits the T with No clamps on the carbs and i have zero leaks... im not gonna leave it that way just saying.... hope this helps lol.

I like how he parked his "race hull" boat almost ontop of the damn thing. how hard is it to wheel it out, wash it, and take some NICE detailed pics out in the sun lol
