nope, there honda 400ex shocks, 16.5" eye to eye and added 30 pounds onto the rider weight for valve work, it rides like butter on stock clutch springs... lol
-
yeah, i forgot to add the lift pump (and the horrible design), almost a handfull of those have been replaced, and we have a fuel pressure gauge to keep and eye on it. We almost swaped in a P7100 haha. I took an fuel injection class so im keen on that part lol, but the most problems we were getting was the dead pedal. As of power output its a small gain but more reponsive not to mention better fuel mileage, about 22mpg. kinda wish it didnt have 4.10 gears with stock tires lol. Its funny watching the tach and speedo moving exactlly the same in 6th so its turning 2000rpm @ 60mph :ermm:

Sup man, i wish i had that shit at my work, but i still find ways to get it done. Im a all purpose mechanic for a construction company, working on any thing from loaders to backhoes. Also have 2 tadem(spelling...) volvo dump trucks and volvo tractor trailer, 3 cat powered sewage "vactors" trucks and a bunch of other shit lol also going to school for diesel and welding, I know alot about the ISB VP44 cummins also... dad has a 01' 2500 H.O. 6spd 4x4 changed out 3 injection pumps (picked up some trashy fuel from flying J....) but we put a bluechip Diesel X pump with our own cash since the warrantee went out... 1700 bucks but its a kick ass pump, the ECM on the VP44 on dodge pickups are garbage and fuck up alot and causes a "dead pedal" but what bluechip diesel did was take a VP44 pump off a FEDEX truck (same ISB cummins) but it has a 2200rpm limit and its manufactured better (they have a read up on there site) but they reflash it with dodge software and do a little tweaking to get more power/tq. This thing pulls 30,000lbs like a dream lol

Ebay: 2 different stores i ordered from for the carrier and axle, on back order of course... Alba: nerf bars, billet pipe clamps, billet impeller, billet EZ drain cover, AC front bumper(suppose to be black), And well you know what it was suppose to be for Xmas but they were holding it because the pipe clamps wernt in.... assclowns ****: Tors kit took 1-2months because of a shipping mix up, i got someones Billet roundhouse carrier and +6-8 brake line.... yeah -
Ok, as some of you know i ordered a RAD billet carrier for my stock swingarm and a durablue 2+2 axle. Well Its been 33 days since payment via paypal and still nothing. It seems that both parts are on backorder and wont be shiped out until next week.... I SWEAR i have the worst luck ordering banshee parts online, Took 2 months for a TORS kit, Alba gave me a non black AC bumper, and Now i have to wait 2 months for this bullshit when i see people riding dirtbikes/quads in the grass fields on my way home from work and its a beautifull day to go ride... Watch i bet the shee will croak and toss a rod threw the case after i bolt this shit up just like the stock carrier gave out after one ride on my elkas :: ::
-
all i got to say is, ladder bars, 4.11 gears, locker, and a zoom clutch. smoke anything off the line...
-
from 2 inches wider than stock to 4 inches wider then stock
-
anyone ever try this combo before have any pros/cons? All i know is the rad carrier bolts up to the stock swinger, has double roller bearings, ZERK FITTING!!!!, and its all machined billet no welds. the dura blue 2+2 i have no clue how the adjustment is done but looks trick lol leme kno cause i just got them on fleabay for $495
-
Well once i start getting paid, i will rake in some parts. First on the list is a RAD billet double roller carrier with a ZERK fitting!!!!! and will bolt to the stock swinger yay, durablue axle, new spockets/chain. So it will be down for a about a month
-
well i do that kinda stuff every month or so, but its been sitting in the garage, ima start shooting grease into it every ride... lol pickies
-
The spocket side has material that was pealed back so i might hit you up with that offer once i start working next week and get some money
-
I went to bust my cherry riding on elka shocks for the first time and the rear axle carrier bearings gave out it, sounds like someone with spent brake pads at a stop light :geek:
-
Well it has massive amounts of preload adjustment and the shocks are 16.5" eye to eye, i have it set with the front just a tad higher than the rear
-
Well i put my 400ex elka shocks on my YFZ a-arms and took it for a test ride today and OMG it rides like a caddy with gummie bear tires. While i was riding i hear the rear end screaming for its life...... yeah thats right the carrier is GONE :verymad: :: someone put a voodoo curse on me i swear, not to mention it is below freezing outside
-
i hope these 400ex elka shocks are 16-16.25" eye to eye because that would be perfect, i would get full suspension travel and i can raise the front end up higher than the rear = traction/wheelies
-
23" front 22" rear XCT holeshots on T9 wheels, Years of life on them. :ninja:
-
Well i answered my first question, they are the same length for some models like 450R 400EX, Banshee Warrior.
-
Well from the looks of it all elka Recreational dual rate shocks are the same length, you just adjust ride height(preload), correct? About sending shocks in, is that just for rebuilds/repairs? Or you have to send them in to also get revalved, have piggybacks installed, or upgraded? I think that will be a PITA if i had to do that everytime i want to add stuff on. I got YFZ A-arms, yes im a cheap bastard lol but i like them, also i will plan to get adjustable uppers, and YFZ spindles to correct the camber. I know elka's are known for there soft cushy ride on stock a-arms or +2's for the shee, but with YFZ a-arms, im willing to experiment lol :geek:

Making low pitch clutter sound from clutch side!
LIM_Whiteboy4life replied to Banshee0028's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have a sound that pretains to what your saying but it goes away after it warms up or doesnt happen at all sometimes, clutch side, rpm dependant, no power loss..... same solution? might have to look into it later (need to buy trans fluid) -
Reminds me of hitting a creek at the top of 3rd, legs hit the bars i was sent flipping and skipping across the water and the shee was "floating" on silt while i was waist deap in the muck..... grrrr. Had a limp for a month after that

Your bike is not going to idle without the idle screws..... Tapping it is easy and you dont need to put any force since it is cast alum. and its really soft, just drill and hole all the way through were the idle screws will go and tap it and file the base down 1/8 in at the most and keep it level so the idle screw reaches the carb slide. Take a small flat tip screw driver and debur the inside of the carb were the idle screw will come out so it doesnt stop up the slide. MAKE SURE you drill the hole on the right side of the right carb and left side of the left carb and the slit in the slides always face away from the motor and face towards the airbox. And Clean the entire carb out just incase. assemble and sync the carb with eye sight, hearing, or with the tool if you anal about it.
