jetting depends on your mods, if its just pipes, 290 mains will be plenty, with lid off.

I am trying to get a yfz 450 rear shock to work on a banshee and think a lowering link would help with the 4 inch longer shock. I dont know if it will work, so i just need one cheap.

Yeah, i always get the torco guys trying to sell me crap. If you live anywhere near a stock car track, you can get race gas anywhere from 100 to 110 for less than 5 bucks a gallon. Or a speed shop should have 5 gallon drums for about $45. Or find a snowmobile shop, they'll have the race gas this time of year. Personally i run a mix of 100 unl torco with 110 leaded pump fuel in my yz250. I have the stock head on my banshee so 93 is all it gets. Your best bet is to do an online search for gas stations that have race fuel. As for the cool head, its an excellent buy.

I think if you try out my jetting recommendation, it should get it close enough the reeds wont affect it. Also, if the head is decked, you should be runnin about 100 octane race gas. I dont believe in additives and what the companies say they do. Also, i would go 32:1 on the mix for the cold like most performance snowmobiles.

If you want your motor to last, i would replace it. 1. Hot rod crank 2. Cometic gasket kit 3. All new seals 4. Yamabond 4 for cases 5. Your choice pistons(anything by wiseco) 6. Needle bearings When the shop does the bore, they will let you know what size to buy or you can order them there. You should only pay about 40 bucks per cylinder to bore, chamfer, and hone. Otherwise your gettin ripped off. Or if you are just gonna hone, (which i do NOT recomend on that old a motor), just take the head off and buy the same size piston thats in there. (its stamped on the top)

Are you sure you needle valve isnt stuck. Try tapping the carb with the blunt end of a screwdriver. Or take the jet needle out of one of your other carbs and switch it.

My mods are almost the same only difference is i have bills pipes and it didnt say what type of filter you have. I have a k&n. Im also at 775 ft elev at 30 degrees out. The needle position shouldnt affect the starting. I have had a pain in the ass time rejetting for cold but i would try 290 mains, middle clip, 30 pilots, .75-1 out on the air screw and stock(1.6) air jets. It sounds like you know how to get the carbs off so give that a whirl. Also, dont get ripped off at the dealer, www.denniskirk.com sells the mains for 5 bucks a pair. Just get a bunch of em for when it warms back up.

Got a banshee. And another in progress. I see no difference between 2 or 4 wheels. Four just hurts more when it hits you. I guess i will put a new needle valve and seat in it and see if that works come spring.

OK, i know its not a banshee but just wondering. I have a completely decked out yz250. I keep that thing so fresh its ridiculous. It runs perfect. BUT, when i crash, and get the bike back on its wheels. Its a bitch to get started. Im talkin 30 kicks. Is maybe, my jetting off a little or is there something i can do to prevent this(other than not crashing).

I plan on selling as all four after i sandblast them. I wont seperate.

I dont know if i am the only one wondering this but what the hell should i do with a crank with bad bearings. Im sure someone would take them for parts or whatever. I just dont like to throw crap like that in the garbage. But i put it on ebay for 5 buck and had no takers. So WTF should i do with it. Does someone need a boat anchor I will ship it to someone for $9(cost of shippin)

I have a j arm frame for sale. Its red. I cut all the wire looms off. Other than that, its a perfect frame. No bends, no stripped bolts(even the peg bolts), it just needs paint or powder. I will include bill of sale. I was going to use it, but instead built it on a 99 frame. I have the j arms if needed. I would like to get 200 obo. Im located in carol stream, Illinois. Pickup preffered, i dont know what it would cost to ship it or how to.

or you can use 3/4 inch goodyear hose from autozone, it .99cents a foot. It kinda hard to fit over the water pump inlet but once its on, your good.

I would stop, once you piss everyone off, you wont be able to ride anymore. I had the whole neighborhood petition against just me riding, and that was in my own yard. Get used to driving an hour + just to go riding. Thats what most of us have to do.
