I have my shee motor all apart and need to order a new locking washer for the clutch basket but i was wondering what type of sealant I need when i put the motor back together??? Also, are there any other parts i need to replace??? I got a good welded crank and new gaskets and new oil seals. Anything else? Good thing i did get a new crank, it ran fine and all after it sucked sand in the intake but the flywheel side two bearings sound terrible and they just keep spinnin with no resistance. Whew :geek:

suggestions on digital cameras?
IROOST1 replied to black sunshine's topic in General Banshee Discussion
If you just want an all around digital camera. A 2 or 3 megapixel will do just fine($100-200). The five megapixel will cost $400+ and i dont think you want that. I have a two megapixel and it works great for selling stuff on ebay and taking pics at the track. And they come out great when i email them for hard copies. -
Its been over a month now and i still have a piece of crap replacement and asv wont even reply. Anyone have any ideas on how to get a proper replacement from them???

I have a 87 j arm frame in good condition(no bends or breaks and all the threads are A-OK from what ive seen), i have started grinding the paint off and was thinking about painting it flat black (was red)but i have two others im in the middle of so i can sell this one. I have removed all the little wiring looms. I even have the two j arms and a arms if needed. I can finish stripping it and paint it, or you can buy as is. Make offer. Get a sprocket hub and sprocket off a newer one. I updated mine, they fit the same.

I need some stock fork springs that would fit an 04 yz250. or a pair of aftermarkets that are stock rate. Must be in good condition. Im sick of the way my stiffer springs feel. The specs are 43.6x480mm .44kg

Anytime you get a chance to send that stabalizer, it would be great.

I did ask for a new one and am still waiting for a response. Nothin yet. Its the cheaper F1 lever, but it was still fifty bucks. And it wasnt me that crashed, it was my buddy eggin my girlfriend on "give it more gas" on her 2mm overbore fully built yz85. She took out two quads and almost a truck.
-
I bought one for my girlfriend a few months ago so she could reach the clutch lever since they are adjustable. The second time out she crashes, not even 20 feet from the truck. And breaks the UNBREAKABLE lever. It ruined her weekend of riding. That was three weeks ago and i just got the replacement today. Its a hunk of crap. It looks like its been on a bike for years and the lever rattles like nuts. So my lever that was brand spankin new is now some junk that they put together from used pieces. I know that for a fact, because i took pics before i sent it and marked every peice of the lever with black permanent marker, where no one would notice. And supposedly they are to refurbish "your lever" but, NOT ONE PART is the same as i sent. And the nice shiny perch that was perfectly fine is now a scratched up part that looks like someone was grinding on it with a dremel. I will NOT buy any other product from ASV. With poor customer service its not worth the extra money. And the warranty is good for nothing. Im still waiting to see what they do and ill update this post.

53% and the gf=49% But some of that crap i need to go do.
-
Dont buy the asv, its cheap and poor customer service. I bought one for my girlfriend for her little hands to reach the clutch. She broke it after two rides and now im stuck with a junk lever that asv "refurbished" and it looks like its three years old and rattles like nuts.

If i were you, i would get a disk brake lock, they work great so no one can roll it away.

cant get the cluch line off my clutch hand lever
IROOST1 replied to peterlocal22's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think he means the levers bent. I have two banshee cables just like that, the damn things wont come out. The levers seem to bend just right so you cant get the cable out. I just take a dremel with a cutting disk and cut the lever. The stock ones arent worth shit anyways. -
Do what DVS1 says. Put the nut on, and use the 2x4 so it wont do damage. The tool im talking about it a tie rod end removal tool that is used on cars. Some specailty tool shops should have one. Or maybe ebay would have one.

Put me in
-
OR you could do it the right way and get a tie rod end puller. Just dont hit it with a hammer, it will smash threads if you hit it or tear a boot.
-
Heater Hose and Screw style clamps(autozone). It was 4 bucks for 4 clamps and .99 for a foot of the hose.
-
put me in, thanks man

what year is it off of and do you know how old the bearings are?
-
I need a crank with good bearings and rods that will last me. (stock rod length) I dont want to spend more than 150 with shipping.
-
I as well will not let anyone touch my truck. An oil change takes a whole ten minutes (no jacking up with a truck). And you can take your oil to any auto parts store for free, or just put it in empty washer fluid jugs and leave it in the parking lot at night by a garage(funny huh, but it works). oil, 6 quarts=$11.00 sure grip filter=$2.50 not letting a retard at a shop f*** your ride=priceless And I would know, i work for a auto parts wholesaler and several coworkers have gone to tech school and i wouldnt let them go near anything. Just beacuse they went to tech school doesnt mean squat. If you are mechanically talented, youre good. But most people in tech schools are dumbshits. But if you must go to a shop, find a private shop not some chain. So you can talk to the owner if there are any problems.
-
If you have adjusters you should have had no problem to install that chain, UNLESS of course, not if you cut it too short. They are confusing, i have cut a many chains too short.
-
If you give up on it, ill take the old crapped out one, ill pay for shipping. Or use vice grips to get the pins out, and lube and a punch and hammer to get the slides out. if it was worth it, i would almost have you send it to me and i can rebuild it but its just easier to buy one off of a 03 or newer off ebay. Just keep at it, they ALWAYS eventually come apart.

Crank and Piston Question/quotes please
IROOST1 replied to IROOST1's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I dont think it is bent, the engine was supposedly running fine, its just when i pulled it apart, it had some dirt and crap down the one side crank. I think the one bearing just grinded the shit out of the balls and now its crapped out. Thanks
