  1. I'm going to advertise locally. What do think it is worth?
  2. You can order an oil injector block-off kit. Then mix your own. Don't do both.
  3. Possibly a bad crank seal?
  4. I have the same carbs, and mine was really stiff also. I cut a little bit off of both springs, and it is much better now.
  5. From all of my experience, FMF's like a big pilot. Go up to a 30, or at least a 27.5. You should also be able to adjust the carb slide height to get it to idle.
  6. Start it up and let it idle for several minutes until the cylinders are warm, then shut it off a let it fully cool. Start it up again and let it warm up, then ride it for a while gently through all of the gears, not staying at the same throttle position for very long and never over half throttle. Shut it off and let it fully cool again. Repeat this 4 or 5 times and you are ready to give her hell.
  7. For those of you who sent me messages, there are more pics of my banshee on bikepics.com under the username mpbanshee. It is still for sale.
  8. Start with a 300 and work you way down till your plugs are a chocolate color when you kill it wide open. Probably need a 30 pilot.
  9. You should be about right with that. However FMF's like a big pilot, may need to go to a 30. (I did)
  10. Anytime you alter the amount and speed of air moving through the motor (pipes, intake mods, porting, etc...), jetting adjustments are neessary. Some pipes like a fatter pilot, some dont. Your can "read" your plugs to see if your jetting is accurate. Do a search on here, and you will find hundreds of posts on how to read plugs.
  11. If you want to stay local, I believe there are several good performance shops in MI. If I remember correctly, Grand River Racing is in MI.
  12. Probably around $250 or so for a top end kit, if you do the work yourself. It is not very difficult, just get youself a Clymer manual before you start. That is assuming the crank assembly isn't damaged...
  13. I agree. Also, if you are looking for better performance, have some portwork and headwork done while you have the top end apart.
  14. I don't think timing will make that much of a difference. Sounds like you may be a little lean on the main jet.
  15. I have 175 psi per cylinder, and vary between +4 and +7 timing advance. I have been running 100LL with castor 927 synthetic at 40:1 for years now and have never had a problem. No carbon buildup on ports, head, or pistons, no detonation problems. Runs great and smells good too!
  16. Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought metal parts (pistons) shrink when heated up, and expand when they are cold.
  17. Dave Moore is in oregon, I think Salem area. Does great work. davemooreracing.com
  18. Sounds like you have covered your bases on this, but sometimes it can be the little things you don't think about. Have you checked your reeds on the right side?
  19. Depending on temp and elevation, 320 & 27.5 will probably be a good stating point.
  20. I know I'm opening up a huge can here, but oh well. With the exception of drag pipes or 2into1, I would bet that on a stock motor, 99% of people wouldn't be able to notice a performance difference between any of the popular pipes (FMF, Toomey, Pro Circuit, etc...). I personally run FMF SST's on a ported motor, and I love them.
  21. Assuming you are going to have pipes, K&N Filter, and no airbox lid, I would start with 330 mains. Do a wide-open plug reading and see where you stand. Pilot should be fine, but will probably have to be at about one turn out. From idle, if it bogs when you barely touch the throttle, you may need to go up to a 30 pilot.
  22. I was able to get some links to my pics... http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee11.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee10.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee9.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee8.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/fre.../banshee7-1.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee6.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee5.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee4.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee3.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/frecia2/banshee2.jpg
  23. I can't help you with the 2 into 1 setup. Perhaps someone here that has experience with that setup can help you out.
  24. Are you changing the intake system? FIlter, airbox, etc...
