I'm trying to get my flywheel off and I need some suggestions. I have the puller and have it threaded all the way in but when i try to get it off I have to turn the shit out of it and I am scared I'm going to mess something up. I have the topend off and put a 3/8's extention throught the rods but I am worried if i keep trying i am going to mess up the rods or the crank. I dont have an impact driver so i'm just using elbow grease. My question is if i keep doing it this way will i mess something up? If so any suggestions would be great. Thanks Ron

I have an extra head gasket if anyone needs it. You can have it just pay for the shipping. I'm just going to toss it anyways. Ron

What is the name of the tool that is used to measure cylinders and pistons? I have one but i have no idea where i put it. Ron

I was wondering about the packing as well. How often do you guys replace it? And what happens if you dont? Is it just for sound? Or does it help with back pressure?
-
If you do a topend rebuild the O rigns come in the gasket set.

Even if you could drill a hole and use some type of a plug so the oil wouldnt drain out it would have to be one hell of a hole. You have to loosen the nut to get the screw loose for the adjustment. Ron

I have been thinking about this for sometime now. Its good to see others are trying it. I went to lowes the other day for a T fitting so i could install my temp sender for the gauge and all most bought the clear hose. Its crazy as hell to spend 99 bucks on the ones that ebay lists or rmatv. When my stock hose for the water pump broke I just used 3/4 heater hose from autozone but I would really like to change to the clear hose with some red die color.

You might also check your thumb throttle itself if the other stuff doesnt work. Take the top of it and make sure there aint crap in it. Not likely but you never know. I would say cable if the thumb throttle is stiff.

WOW no one needs any pistons?

I have 2 sets of pro lites for sale. 1 is 64.00mm and the other are 64.50mm. I was a dumbass and got the wrong ones twice. The 64.00mm I bought used from ebay but they are still new and the 64.50mm I bought brand new. I installed them and ran it for maybe an hour if that then took them out. I will also include the stickers and gasket set for one of them few a few bucks more. I have pics if you want them. If I dont sell them tonight on here they will be listed on ebay! Me being a stupid ass allows someone to get them cheap. I will take 50 for each plus shipping. Ron

From what I have read from other because it has never happened to me is. 1. It wont start without spraying something in the carbs. 2. If it does start the idle still be REAL high because the slides arent closing. I would say those are the 2 most common.
-
The first thing I would check is the cable. Look were the 2 go into the one. If that isnt it good chance your carbs need to be cleaned out. Pull off your air box lid and look at the slides to see if you can make it happen again. If you can wiggle the the calbe where the 2 go into the 1 and see if the slides close all the way. It can only be a few things. Cable, dirt, or maybe the tops. Good luck

How much for the pistons? -
I have a set of 64.00mm that I bought off ebay from someone (they are used but still look brand new) and the 64.50 that i just bought. The 64.50's I installed and relised they are still one size to small. I will trade both sets for a GOOD set of 65.00's Thanks Ron

Anyone have some 65mm pro lite pistons they want to get rid of? Thanks Ron

Yes I understand what your getting at. So around 4mm. 1mm for each degree. Thank you

Is there a "how to" for modding the timming plate? I have a drill press and I would like to fix it so i can get the +4 from the stock one. How can I tell when its at +4? If I just made the same size holes right next to the ones where the plate bolts on would that be close to +4? Thanks Ron

I tried something called "STOPS Overheating Cools Like Ice Water" Made by Pro Blend. It says it reduces water temperature up to 28 degrees. You can get it at autozone. It doesnt contain any Antifreeze. I would guess that it will freeze in the winter though. It says 28 bucks on their site but I paid no where nere that. I cant remember how much it was but I want to say right around 10 bucks. Here is the link http://www.pro-blend.com/coolsys.htm

Download the service manual thats on the sticky it has the wiring diagram. Hope that helps

not to rag on you or him, but if it was making a funny noise why let it run for 10 minutes listening to it?
-
If I were you I wouldnt use it. I did itand i blew up my topend. It also makes everything sticky. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it. I wish I would of asked before trying it.

Ok this is what i have. When I do 15 kicks on each side the left reads 115 and the right is 95. What I did was order 64.50 thinking I would do a bore to that size and all would be good. When the new pro lite came I noticed that they looked like they would fit without a bore so I just honed the cylinders out. Like a dumdass I didnt go buy a feeler gauge to check ring gap. My question is where do i go from here? Do I just eat the pistons and go with it for now until i have the funds to do a bore? Also what is the clearance suppose to be between the piston and walls? I ask this because it is easyer to check that then pull the jugs off and check ring gap. I know i am an ediot! It runs good over all I just dont have the funds to redo it right now. I dont do any dune riding or anything like that. So i dont do WOT that much if that even really matters. What should i do for now being on a real limited budget? I still want to get new domes being that my old ones have grooves from when the piston came a part last time. Part of me thinks thats why it has so uneven compression. Please help. So for the book. Ron
